My friends and I came here on the weekend to experience one of their escape rooms and had picked the shed. It was quite an experience and didn't expect it to be a spooky one until we got in it. The staff person assigned to us was helpful and made sure we didn't stray from the path and offered helpful clues so we were able to escape with 2-3 minutes left. Even though it is about $34 a person, it's definitely a lot of fun and you can tell they out in a lot of work for their escape rooms! read more

This place was pretty cool! When you walk in, there are board games pictures all over one wall which I thought was awesome. The guy in the front was pretty funny, I can't remember his name :( but the whole experience of the room was really cool. We had 6 people in total and did the bank heist room. Didn't know it was the hardest room there, but we passed with maybe 3 minutes to spare! Can't go into detail because you should experience it yourself! 10/10 The staff does wear masks and cleans the rooms for about 15-30 minutes. Great escape room. My boyfriend and I had a blast. The location is like business strip area. Free parking. The decor inside and in the rooms are well done. Our game master was JAY! He's awesome and funny and made the room even better. We actually went 2 days in a row. We did the outbreak and lost in time. Unfortunately we didn't escape but the designs of the rooms and puzzles were really great. You get 3 free clues any additional clue costs you 5 mins. Whoever books the room it's only for them so take some friends and try it out. I would definitely recommend going. They have several rooms to choose from. And ask for Jay! Just want to start by saying it was AWESOME! Me and my husband came up to Atlanta from FT. Lauderdale to relax a little and we decided to do an escape room to pass some time before dinner and we came across this place. First the reviews are already good and it drew me in, i called and spoke to Michael who let us know the COVID procedures which i was glad to hear that when you book a room it'll only be yours. Also asked him to recommend some for 2 players in which he picked Lost in Time, Sorcerers Stone and the Superhero one which happened to be his favorite. When we got there Michael greeted us and got us started right away, we did Lost in Time. I don't wanna say too much to spoil the room but it was nice. The puzzles weren't too difficult but was fun to solve. We managed to get out with 11 minutes to spare. Me and my husbands do escape rooms a lot in Florida but Mastermind Escape Games does not compare to what we have. We found this location through a groupon deal and gathered 8 friends to tackle on Bank Heist, the hardest puzzle room they have with a 17% pass rate. We proudly made it with 1:44 min left on the clock and thoroughly enjoyed the escape! The location is in a typical warehouse as all the other escape rooms are usually located. The employees and game masters were extremely nice and even answered our questions lingering from the puzzle. The best part of Mastermind that separates this escape room from others is the Ipad! They give you an Ipad with the option of easy or hard hints if you ever need them. They only deduct points from your score and as long as you have positive points you can still win! Would highly recommend this location if you're ever in the area! read more

This was my second time at this facility (the first was for a Yelp event). I had such a great time last time that I suggested that my work team do an event here. Our arrival experience was not that great. We had an 11:00am reservation but when we arrived the place was locked up tight. It was very apparent that the staff was either not informed that we would be there (they usually open at noon) or had totally forgotten. After a call to the manager they were able to find someone to send over to open the building and get us set up. Unfortunately, is was a cold day to be standing around outside for 25 minutes (we were 10 minutes early so we could start on time and the staff member got there 15 minutes late). Once we got going we had a great time. As only 2 out of 12 of us had ever done an escape room before, we chose the room with a 35% escape rate. It took us 52 minutes and one clue, but We Did It!!! So much fun to have accomplished this though teamwork! Great team building event IF everyone in the team gets along. I could see this being a very bad experience if you have a team where some team members already feel bullied by other team members. Our team gets along great all the time so we had a blast. One thing that would make the experience even better/more special is if Mastermind provided some type of giveaway for teams that make it out. A 'We Did It!' certificate / button would have been fun. I've even heard that other companies take a team picture and add borders/stickers/the time it took to escape/what room you did/etc. and email it out. Some type of memento would have been nice - since we did escape and not that many teams do. Overall I think we all had a good time. read more

What a great time! Went in with a bunch of random people into the Bank Heist game. This game is labeled as their most difficult, and being my first escape room experience, I wasn't sure what to expect. They start you out playing with different kinds of locks outside of the room. This way, you can practice and not worry about how it may function once in the room. They took us back and it was a blast. It was a bit crowded with 8 people at times, especially since it was hard to keep track of which clues were used and which were still outstanding. Some I found to be easy, and others were quite a bit more challenging, especially when everyone was moving about different pieces of the puzzle. Four people might be a much more optimal number to take unless you know everyone you are with, even though it can hold up to ten. There was a bit of a problem with one of the locks, even though we had solved it and tried that solution several times, it wouldn't open. Had we been able to get through that the first time it was solved, we would've escaped, but we were about two minutes out and were deemed epic failures. A bit pricey, but definitely a fun way to blow an hour and challenge your mind! read more

Amazing Escape Room in Sandy Springs is one of the latest real-life room escape games to open in metro Atlanta. It debuted December 10, 2015 in the "Glenridge 400" office park at 5825 Glenridge Drive. Amazing Escape Room is located in Building 4. Drive all the way to the far back of the office park to find it. There are several rooms in the works at Amazing Escape Room. On December 16, 2015, we tried "Escape from Experiment Alpha." At the time of writing this review, I've tried eight different room escapes in metro Atlanta: this one, The Study and The Hotel at Mission: Escape - Atlanta near Atlantic Station, Trapped in a Room with a Zombie at Room Escape Adventures in Tucker, Zombie Apocalypse and Inception at Paranoia Quest in Downtown Atlanta, and the Royal Room and Black Ops Room at Mystery Room at Sugarloaf Mills. My favorites have been The Hotel at Mission: Escape - Atlanta, Zombie Apocalypse at Paranoia Quest, and Trapped in a Room with a Zombie at Room Escape Adventures. Escape from Experiment Alpha at Amazing Escape Room comes in fourth, which isn't a bad thing. I had a lot of fun. There were a few issues with our room, one of which made our successful escape anticlimactic. However, since this place is new, I'm willing to cut these guys some slack. The employees we encountered were friendly and enthusiastic. Due to the hiccups, the assistant manager Paris offered our group a complimentary future visit. In terms of production quality, Amazing Escape Room falls below Mission: Escape and Paranoia Quest, but above Room Escape Adventures and Mystery Room. Amazing Escape Room has a mixture of high-tech devices (e.g. interactive widescreen displays and touchpads) and thrift store quality props. Overall, what I liked best about our experience was the number and variety of puzzles. There were *a lot* of locks to open and the style/method to opening many of them was different. In other words, we weren't monotonously opening combination lock after combination lock. It was a nice assortment. I think the briefing portion could have been done better. All I gathered before we entered the room was that we were inside the CDC and we had to avoid getting infected with a virus. After we entered the room, I expected the employee to follow us in and finish our briefing, but instead the door shut and the one-hour countdown began. There was a keypad by the door, but we weren't told how many digits the code was or if escaping through that door was even the ultimate objective of the game. The room was set up like a doctor's office/lab. There were various equipment, texts, notes/letters, safes, locks, etc. Like other escape rooms, our group was being monitored via camera. We could "talk to the TV" if we needed hints or advice. The TV responded with text messages to our questions/comments. That's different. At the other escape rooms I've tried so far, the escape room employees have communicated via speakers or walkie-talkies. Every so often, audio messages would play on the TV. These messages went along with the room's story and sometimes gave us clues or helped guide us to an answer. The problems we had with our room were as follows: 1. One of the locked items was not re-locked when the room was reset. When we started the room, this lock was already open. This was both good and bad. It was good because it was one less lock to solve. However, it was bad because we ended up gathering extraneous clues (intended for this lock) that only served to confuse us since we didn't know what puzzle the clues were for. 2. A multi-digit numeric code was required to solve the final puzzle. We knew all of the numbers of the code, but one. That was because the number had been inadvertently wiped off of the item it was written on. When the room was reset, no one checked to see if the number was still visible. Luckily, since we knew all the other digits, we could just guess by trial-and-error at what the remaining digit was. We *should* have known what the remaining digit was since we found the hidden item that had the number written on it. (Sorry for being so vague, but I don't want to spoil anything.) 3. The lock where we input the final code did not work. The employees said we got the final code correct, but the lock wouldn't open. Before the timer ended, an employee entered the room and tried the correct code out for herself. It didn't work. She said it was the first time that's happened and apologized. While we didn't get the thrill and satisfaction of inputting the final code and unlocking the last puzzle, at least we beat the room! The big group before us did not. Losers (jk). We had six people in our group and I thought it was an ideal size for Escape from Experiment Alpha. We purchased Groupons (https://www.groupon.com/deals/amazing-escape-room-ga) and it worked out to $21.25 per person for us. Tickets are normally $28 per person. Despite the problems, all of us still had an enjoyable experience. We're going back next month. read more

OUTBREAK WAS SO FUN!! My boyfriend and I are newbies at escape rooms but Taylor made our experience super fun. She welcomed us at the lobby and explained the rules of the room and handed me the walkie so I could talk to her if I needed any hints. She made us do the chicken dance every time we asked for a hint haha. I was sad we weren't able to complete it, we were SO close. We were only 2 steps behind finishing the escape room. It was at Mastermind Escape Games where I had my first room escape experience, and it was a doozy. My church small group set up a community building activity here on a Saturday late morning. Directionally, I was thoroughly confused. I should have just followed Google Maps, but I tried to find my own shortcuts, thinking that the office buildings would all be connected somehow. I was sorely mistaken, but thankfully not as late as I thought I would be. Once in the correct parking lot, there will be signs to guide you to the right place. Even with these signs, it's not exactly the clearest... but I guess it's the warm up to the problem solving that is going to follow. After signing the waivers, we were led into our room. The guy at the front briefly explained to us some rules before setting the clock. The puzzles seemed pretty sporadic and didn't have much relation to each other but in the end, we were able to figure out the clues. With less than a minute to spare! Behind the scenes, you can communicate with a moderator of sorts, who watches your dumb selves fumble through clues. It was fun and created for some animated lunch conversation - and honestly, I couldn't and can't wait to go back for round 2. read more

I visited yesterday as Yelp hosted an event here. Though a little tricky at first I was able to find Mastermind after a few minutes (head straight to the back..lol). When I entered the building I was warmly greeted fellow Yelpers, the Mastermind staff, and the delicious smells of Chik-fil-a. Unlike the other escape room that I've been too in the past, Mastermind has 6 different rooms to choose from. Depending on your level of experience these rooms range from easy to difficult. Also your given clues for the rooms via an iPad and there is a point system associated with the game. My team was placed in the Superhero Training Facility. Unfortunately, we were not able to escape but we got to wear really cool caps and have "super powers." We were told that our room was in the middle in terms of difficulty (if that's the case I would hate to try the hardest level. I could definitely see myself returning as this would be a cool couples date night game. My only recommendation would be if the clues provided were more effective. A few times when my team use one we already had the clue that we were being given. Overall WONDERFUL night and look forward to participating in other escape rooms here !!!! read more

I always appreciate it when I can immediately tell that the Game Masters actually like their jobs. Rue and Jarrod were both extremely helpful throughout the night which really boosted the overall experience. I FREAKING LOVED IT THERE!!!!!! ..even tho it is challenging i enjoyed every second of it so far i played in two escape rooms, Sorcerer's secret and outbreak, which was very exciting nd from time to time they give u lil hints here nd there to help tbh tht are very useful. And the staff i cannot tell u how funny yet professional they are, as soon as u walk in they instantly help you and ask what time and what room u want or reserved nd it only takes about 3/4 mins i believe and off u go to start ur game. But my main focus are the rooms at first it doesn't seem like much buh the more clues u find nd solve there u are in another room, I can't tell u how many times i jus wanted to give up buh i jus keep on going these game are so addicting and the clock on the wall tht counts down makes it even more thrilling and wen u get to a certain time limit there was a sound which make u start to panic.. The last room i played i only had 45 seconds left to get out.. Fun, fun times! I had the opportunity to visit Mastermind during a Yelp event and the escape room did not disappoint. The facility has multiple rooms to choose from and the staff is very good at explaining what the room is about, how to access the clues and what not to do. The room was designed very well and kept us engaged. The costumes, well capes and super power gear, was also a nice added touch. Escape rooms are fun with family/friends and this visit showed me just how fun they can be with strangers. Some of the clues, whether we chose easy or hard, ended up being a waste of our points and unfortunately none of them ended up helping us out. With less than 1 minute some things started coming together but unfortunately it was too little too late and we didn't escape in time. Went here for my birthday with 7 friends. We did the Outbreak room. We were paired up with two other ladies who were super noce and great team players. The experience was fantastic! Only one in the group of 8 had ever done an escape room so we weren't sure what to expect! But the room was set up prioperly, there were some fun distractions and the guy in the front giving out the initial instructions was super nice and energetic. It was a really hard room and my only complaint is that they didn't have a better setup in terms of the story or the room host. He just seemed in a hurry to get us in. I wish the experience came with something a little more experiential in the beginning. Also, the room at first was a little too warm. Got better later. I decided to plan a field trip for my students (62 of them to be exact) and the staff was more than accommodating to us that day. Bottom Line: As of March 2018, this is one of our Top 3 Overall Escape Rooms. While this is not the most chic production design you'll see, puzzle design is the best we've seen to date. We can't recommend Mastermind enough and can't wait to return for more rooms, especially their Super Hero room! OVERVIEW This is one of our all-time favorite Escape Rooms. We tried four companies in Atlanta area and this is one of the two we recommend. Check out our website for all four reviews so you can determine the best experience for you. We only had time for two rooms at Mastermind (Sorcerer's Secret & Escape the Air Raid), but based on our experience, we have no hesitation awarding this facility. Both rooms are doable for small or large groups and both rooms were family friendly. SCHEDULING We were, as always, walk-ins looking to do a few rooms by ourselves. We were able to immediately book back-to-back rooms with no other players despite the fact that they were clearly busy, which we greatly appreciated. While this is never guaranteed, we definitely felt the staff would have worked with our desired schedule and group size to the best of their ability. PERSONNEL We absolutely loved this staff, including Valerie and Hannah. Every person we interacted with was enthusiastic and genuinely enjoyed talking about their rooms and Escape Rooms in general. As they got to know us and our Escape Room enthusiasm, they even invited us to take a peek into their Super Hero room which we didn't have time to schedule but they thought we would at least enjoy seeing - they were correct and we will be back to try that room! Game masters were very helpful without giving away too much. PRODUCTION DESIGN FACILITY: This is your standard office facility, but a lot of smart work has gone in to support the room themes. The size of the place makes for a lot of comfortable waiting areas and accessible facilities. Because it's tucked back in an office complex, food and drink isn't super accessible but there are options nearby and there is plenty of parking. ROOMS: Okay, sometimes you were reminded that you are in office building. That's okay. The themes are cohesive and make very creative use of the space. Our FAVORITE thing about these rooms is that you not only get a blank tablet for mobile notes, but a game tablet which is your clue board. There is still a game master watching you who communicates through a screen in the room, but this clue tablet allows you to easily track your clues and tie them to specific problems. The rooms are pretty high-tech which allows for some great reveals. PUZZLE DESIGN: If we could give extra stars here, we would. Well, we can, because it's our site, but we will simply repeat that both rooms qualify as the best puzzle design we have seen to date. The puzzles are logical and methodical with just enough decoys to dork you up if you lose focus. Absolutely no cell phones are needed and you have this lovely choice between easy or hard hints from your tablet. We escaped both rooms but the Escape the Air Raid was cutting it close. Completed the "Outbreak" room with 3 friends. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but comparatively to other escape rooms it holds its own. Our game master was Christina. She explained the rules, gave us our hints if we needed them, etc. The price point isn't bad for escape rooms (I've been to others that are more expensive). The only downfall was the seemingly disorganized way of signing in-- which is no big deal. It's Halloween weekend and they were crowded.
