Long story short, buying 2 of his book counted as passes for a room.... and ended up saving us about $20. The actual game we paid was a blast. Had a team building event here for work. First off when finding this location it is really in the dark. I mean like zero lights on outside... it was like the place was closed... lights on inside but nothing around it was lit at all. There was one person here and the place was quite dead. However our team was ready to play... there were six of us and truly it was good there was not more or it might have been hard to move in the escape room. I am used to getting a bit of a nudge in the starting direction when you go in... I guess there was that... kind of. It was not well "played out" but in the end we got it and we moved on from there. We made it out with 5 mins and one clue to spare. It was fun though! The game was interesting and just quirky enough for us all to play a part and have fun. From the time of booking and the actual game, it was a very pleasant experience. We booked our reservation over the phone and were told there was a discount for valentine's day which got applied to our total amount. Immediately got a receipt after making the payment over the phone and were told to arrive 15 minutes before the game started. We did the Titanic escape room and it was really good. Although we have never actually experienced the escape room at Odyssey, I am writing this review because of the amazing customer service we received from this business. My teenage son had booked a room last night for a date with his girlfriend. However, at dinner he ate fish and we found out he has an allergy to this particular type of fish. We had to get him taken care of abruptly as his throat was very uncomfortable. That being said, when I called to cancel the person I spoke with was outstanding. I believe it was Anthony, but I'm not sure. They reimbursed us, which was very kind, and kept us in their prayers which is always great to hear in frantic times. What a great family activity!!! Easy parking! Michael, the owner, is very friendly and super nice. He makes sure you will have a ton of fun and it's also a great deal! Don't forget to buy his book (which btw my 9 year old son loves!) to get one ticket at discount! Woohoo. As a family of 4 (two adults and 7 & 9 year old) we decided to conquer the titanic. I found it difficult (mind this game is for up to 12 person and we were just 4 people!) but Michael gave us great clues and hints and somehow we were able to escape with about 3 mins to spare. The props are breathtaking and look/feel real. The owner did an incredible job, bravo! Titanic is also great for people who don't like to be locked in one tiny room, it consists of 3 spacious rooms!!! Overall great experience, thank you Michael for your help and guidance. We did the Jack the Ripper room. The room itself is impossible to do with two people. We've done quite a few escape rooms with just us. We've lost this one, the very first room we did and one other. We like to think we're decent at rooms because we've done so many types of puzzles. Things that annoyed me enough to possibly never go back: This room does NOT tell you it REQUIRES a minimum of 4 people to complete yet after we talked to the guy he said it's impossible to beat with two. Well, gee thanks for letting us waste our time. Second, they do NOT tell you the answer to the room after you fail. I've literally never had a room do this to me before. It annoyed me enough that I probably won't to back to do any of the other, easier rooms. You're supposed to figure out Jack's identity & if you guess wrong, they tell you YOU HAVE TO COME BACK AND DO IT AGAIN. This is so stupid, because who is going to solve THE SAME PUZZLE TWICE?! The puzzles are the same. So if you missed out on the last few like we did, you figure out the puzzle solutions but don't get to see the answers. This was insanely annoying, like annoying enough to where if you want me to spoil this room for you, I will just so you don't have to deal with them being jerks about it. The Jack the ripper room at the escapery is much more logical & if you don't win, THEY HELP YOU SOLVE IT SO YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY TWICE. Next, this room requires you to crawl and to have impeccable eyesight. I have decent eyesight but not perfect. I won't spoil unless asked so I won't explain further. Ok, good things: They had a few clever puzzles that I hadn't seen before, like one that requires you to be in two places at once. I don't think that's a spoiler so much as a disclaimer you need more than one human. They used secret doors. I always love that. They showed us the other available rooms to try and entice us to return. Tempting but really still annoyed about the Jack the ripper room. The room is hard. Not the fake hard where escape rooms tell you their games are hard but actually are not hard. This is hard because it's long, not necessarily clever - you have so many to solve, you need 4-5 people and don't waste time. Some of the puzzles were outright stupid like the eyesight one. PERFECTION! My husband and I have done every theme at Odyssey, with the newest one being Nuketown Diner, that we did last night. This is what we chose to do for our anniversary and we were SO glad we did!! We escaped with 8 minutes remaining. It was SO MUCH FUN! I loved the theme of the room and it was very entertaining. I went here for a team event on a Friday night and it was pretty fun! It is a very hard find because it is secluded in an office plaza, but it is very nice inside and the room that we had was unique! The tour guides are nice and helpful. It's a great place for you to have a team building event or just a nice outing for friends! I love the concept of escape rooms and its nice having one close to the office. There isn't food or drinks here, but there are plenty of places close by. read more

Well, I'm here to report that we caught Jack The Ripper with 20 seconds remaining! What a fun first experience for me and my husband. It was challenging, but we along with 6 other people worked really well together to complete the game. It was very realistic and it's just amazing how so many clues are right under your nose. We definitely want to do another room. Prison Break seems like a really good one to try. All in all, if you're looking to do something off the beaten path for fun I recommend this Escape Room. Tips: * Wear comfortable clothing (jeans & sneakers) because you'll be doing some crawling. * Arrive at least 15 mins early * Have fun! read more

What a great time we had with our adult son and grandsons ages 8, 10 and 13. Challenging game for all 5 of us. Everyone was able to participate finding clues. Been here twice and in comparison to other escape rooms, this is by far my favorite. The first time I did the titanic room with two other people. Unfortunately, I didn't make it through. This is the most difficult room in the house, but with another member this would have been a great accomplishment. We were able to make it 90% of the way which is awesome. If three people get that close, you can totally do it. The second time, we did the inferno room. This room we were able to finish with 7 people and 21 minutes to spare. Not too difficult of a room but a great out for you and your friends. Location: a little confusing. I originally pulled into the lot before it, but after realizing it was the next lot just look for the flag. It's hidden in an office area, but don't let it deter you. It's not bleak as the talks at the coffee maker. These guys do a great job getting you to feel in character with your room. The decor and effort in the rooms are amazing. Definitely worth the trip. Price: average for escape rooms, they offer a Groupon Parking: plenty once you find the place :) Staff: super friendly and actually attentive in the room. They don't waste your time for tips. When you wave, they respond. Our group was a little late and instead of inconveniencing the next group we were asked to dock 10 minutes from our hour. Most people would come off as complete jerks asking that of a crowd, but the staff was super sweet and it was completely reasonable since our group was unable to follow the timeline. Tip: show up on time, and don't be a slacker. These rooms take some effort. Pick your teammate wisely. read more

I wanted to update my review since I've now played all 4 of Odyssey's rooms. We played all of them by ourselves (2 players). GENERAL Overall, their rooms are solid. Their GMs are professional and attentive. I've never been a huge fan of the words-on-a-screen method of clue-giving, but as long as the clues are helpful (which they are), I can't complain. The lobby is kind of an aesthetic train wreck between the bright office fluorescents, Odyssey's bright green branding, and random pop music from the last 30 years, but don't let that deter you. The lobby is not reflective of the aesthetic quality of their rooms. It's worth noting that (to my knowledge) there are no laser-cut/cookie-cutter puzzles or store-bought puzzle boxes here; everything feels custom-made and fits well in the world of the rooms. Big plus. Bonus: Odyssey is a sub-5-minute drive from Jekyll Brewing, great spot to debrief and have a victory (or consolation) beer for players of drinking age. ROOMS Jack the Ripper: 4.5 stars. First and foremost, this room's set design is gorgeous. It's probably in my top 5 rooms for sheer production value. I've played other Ripper rooms, and they can't touch this one as far as immersion goes. As I said in my initial review, there is A LOT to keep up with, and this results in a central puzzle being easily rendered unsolvable by normal player actions. You essentially have to work pretty hard to NOT break the puzzle, which isn't ideal. We were warned about this, and we still were unable to keep everything straight. In spite of that, I still really enjoyed this room. Possibly my favorite of the 4. I STRONGLY recommend at least 4 players for this room, as it is very difficult with 2. Titanic: 4 stars. This room has the lowest difficulty level and lowest production value (the sets are well-made, but there is a lot of unused space, not as immersive as some of their other rooms). That said, the puzzles were a lot of fun and the conclusion was satisfying. There is a good amount to do, but it's very doable with 2 players. I probably wouldn't want to have more than 4. Great choice for first-time players. Prison Break: 4.5 stars. This room is difficult but doable, a well-balanced challenge. The set is immersive and there are some clever puzzles throughout, though nothing seemed especially novel (that may be in part because of how many prison-themed rooms are out there). I would recommend 4 players for this room (we struggled with 2), probably no more than 6. Good for experienced players, as long as they're not sick of prison escape rooms. NOTE: At one point there is a prop that players are required to interact with which contains glass (I only know this because we dropped and broke it - so sorry! Thanks to the GMs who were very gracious about this!). I would strongly encourage Odyssey to replace this with plexiglass or plastic to avoid issues in the future. Towering Inferno: 4.5 stars. I went into this room expecting to hate it, based on what I'd heard from friends who had played. I am not generally a fan of technology-heavy escape rooms (totally personal preference) and was prepared to be underwhelmed. I ended up not really minding the technology aspects, though be aware that computers are involved in a MAJOR chunk of the game. I found that bit to be somewhat repetitive, but not so much that we got frustrated with it. Still, it IS a blatant time-suck, and I believe that time could be better filled with other puzzles. The other puzzles in this room were entertaining and inventive. Some were a bit obtusely clued, but our GM was on top of things and maintained a great balance of letting us struggle vs. nudging us in the right direction. I would recommend at least 3-4 players for this room, mainly because the time-suck computer puzzle requires 2 people, and it would be immensely helpful to be able to work on other things while that's happening. Very different from other rooms I've played before, so I would recommend it for veteran players, as long as they don't mind the tech aspect. Not as difficult as Prison Break or Ripper, but challenging all the same. read more

This is my favorite room vendor in Atlanta. Their escape puzzles aren't completely full of nifty physical gimmicks, and they don't have the best puzzles, but they completely blow everyone away at theming their rooms. They also run their games well, having strong GMs. Titanic is quite impressive. The room is quite large and spacious, with a wheel and large engine controls in the center, and faux window panels that looks quite right for a ship's bridge. Instead of having a vague escape theme, you are given three definite tasks you have to complete--a small touch which makes the game feel much more immersive. Jack the Ripper is simply amazing. The lighting, shattered bed and blood spray really give you the feel that you've walked onto a victorian-era murder scene. And there are (minor spoiler, but the owner told us this before entering) only 3 locks in the entire escape room. Instead, you are investigating, digging through documents and clues, and piecing things together--which feels a lot more like an investigation. (If "Call of Cthulhu LARP" means anything to you, then just book the room now. ) Both rooms contained quite a few subtle historical details, and lots of little unimportant throwaway details. I have started to wonder writing this if I'm dismissing the puzzle quality out of hand. They are so seamlessly worked into the game/experience that I might not really notice them as puzzles. The difficulty is quite good. Nothing seems stupid easy or arbitrarily difficult. The things I would complain about are odd. Titanic has a purchased standard escape room button box which I've seen in a couple of other rooms. In another room, it would just be another step in the room, but in Odyssey's room, it seemed almost woefully out of place--their rooms are just THAT good. read more

Came here for a work event and had a great time! They have three scenarios that are all multi-room games. They will tell you the difficulty of each. There are TVs in the rooms that will show you hints if you ask for them. They will also give you "nudges" if they see you struggling. The owner is very accommodating. Your group can have food catered in before or after your game. They offer free bottles of water, and there is a nice sitting area. Overall a very fun experience. read more

Don't do the Ripper unless you've done a lot of escape rooms and/or have at least 4 or 5 people. You'll need it, trust me! My boyfriend and I have done both of these with just the 2 of us. My husband and I, with our 2 young teens, did the Prison one tonight and had an amazing time. This was so much fun. We loved it. Unfortunately, we weren't quite successful. It doesn't matter. Your heart will be racing from the adrenaline and all will be laughing at the end when it's over. This would make a perfect gift for a young adult and is absolutely challenging for older adults as well. Much more than we were expecting. Also, don't be afraid to use the hints or to double check that you entered a combination correctly! Silly mistakes. We will be back many times in the future. Also, they are often on Groupon or Living Social if you want to save a few $! Promos will also apply if you've got any of those sitting in your email. This tops any family activity that we've done in ages.
