We saw this place when driving through the area, so thought we would take a chance and check it out. We ended up getting some cookies and brownies to go. The brownies were good. The cookies were fine, but nothing special, and some of the varieties were underbaked. We will probably give Masterpiece another chance when in the area again. We would give the place 4 stars, but one oddness knocked off a star. When we walked in, a group of people were sitting at a table talking with someone who may or may not have been the owner. As soon as we appeared, their conversation ceased. The entire time we were there, it was very clear that they were waiting for us to leave so they could resume their conversation. For a customer that is a very uncomfortable experience. A half-dozen or so people in mostly silent waiting mode, waiting for us to leave. Which of course made us want to leave quickly. And which also made us feel more than unwelcome. Not the impression a business should want to make with a customer. Suggestion: if you want to have a conversation but don't want customers to overhear, then please meet in a back room, or elsewhere. If you want to have that kind of conversation in the store's public area, then please lock the door so that unsuspecting customers don't inadvertently visit mistakenly thinking that they will be welcome. read more

Chocolate cupcakes were extremely dry and crumbly, and didn't so much taste like chocolate but more like just cake that's got a dash of cocoa powder. I can't quite put my finger on the icing's "off" flavor and texture, but it seems like they might use margarine instead of actual butter in their "buttercream". Ordered several boxes of brownies to be shipped to WA state. Arrived much sooner than expected, was extremely well packed, and brownies were completely intact. The brownies are rich and decadent. I especially like the texture which is crisp on top and fudgy inside. So far, my favorites are peanut butter and double fudge because the flavors are rich and satisfying. I went into the cake shop to look at ordering a cake for a child party and way over priced cake, they had a sample of the cake I thought I was ordering a it tasted bland and like a box mix. The sample design looked cheap and spray on. I saw better at the local supermarket like Kings Or Safeway. I was not impressed. Rude and unhelpful too. I did some research on bakery like in old town Arvada done two old fashion bakeries and one in Englewood too. They were better priced, better design plus had other items like bread, cookies, pies etc. This is what an old fashioned bakery it about. Plus, they were much more friendly, helpful and better priced too. Plus, you can tell they were freshly made no box mixed too. These bakery valued all customers regardless of who the item was for. I heard rumors about this bakery. When in business you deal with all types of customers not just one you like to service. We have diverse people in Colorado in in the US too. The bakeries I mentioned in old town I saw on a local tv station showing doing a show about it. Customers said these two were so great. Som try these better than this bakery. read more
