This is an incredibly late review for one of the best shop owners and the best PEOPLE I have ever met in my life. That is not an exaggeration; Eric is truly an amazing mechanic and an extraordinary person. I came in to him with a bumper that had some broken clips and was needing a repair. With my past experiences with other auto body shops, they will miss or forget things (and won't even tell me), it would take a lot longer than they would estimate, or they would just be plain rude or act like you're a disposable customer but with Eric and his team, they treat you like a friend or family member getting your car fixed. TLDR: GO HERE. If you're someone who doesn't know a ton about cars and is afraid of getting ripped off you can trust Eric. I never write Yelp reviews. I think this is my first one. I wanted to write this because Eric went above and beyond. Also, I took a month before writing this review, because I wanted to see if the repair was solid. It has been. 100%. MY STORY: My front bumper became partially detached on one side of my car. It was dragging and grinding badly on the front right wheel whenever I tried to turn right (which is a problem!). I needed to drive the car from SF to LA in two days time so I needed a fast fix. It would have been an impossible trip otherwise. Eric was in the middle of a very busy day, but took the time to check out my car. Crucially, he also took the time to listen to my specific needs. I didn't want a big fix. The car is old and I didn't want to invest a lot in it. The moment a big repair comes along for this car I will get a new one. I just wanted to be able to get it from point A to point B. Eric knew exactly what to do and how much to do. In less than 10 minutes he was able to re-attach the bumper securely and give me good advice on what I could do cheaply once back home in LA to ensure the car lived a longer life. Someone hit my brand new number from behind. Luckily my insurance was able to help me with covering the cost and referred me over to Masters Autobody Repair. I was assisted by Eric and Robert. Eric took pictures of the initial damage, and mentioned he would contact me once the replacement bumper came in. I'm not one to leave many Yelp reviews unless absolutely merited. Masters (and owner Eric Steeg) are above and beyond that. This is my third time having been serviced by Eric and his crew, after incidents which I was and wasn't at fault. Every single time, I walk away wondering why there aren't more people and businesses like this in the world. Most recently, I was involved in a fender bender. Masters let me tow the car there on a Saturday and inspected it promptly. Eric followed up with me by the next business day and gave me a timeline, as well as options whether I wanted aftermarket or OME parts. Most mechanics assume or try to persuade you as to what they think you want, but Eric was clear as day about what my car needed and what I could do about it. Eric was prompt with any updates regarding new issues, and resolved them quickly after consulting me on what was the move. He stuck to any updates to the timeline, and when I got my car back, nailed it at almost the exact lower limit for what my pets would cost (I went OME). He fought tooth and nail to make sure that he got me my parts for as fair a price as he could, and that by itself deserves five stars. Most importantly, Eric is no nonsense but professional. He will tell you exactly what needs to be done, what options are available, and then do exactly what he says. My car is now in better condition than before my most recent incident. My experience was so great with Masters Autobody Repair that I was compelled to write this review. My vehicle was damaged in accident while driving in San Francisco. My insurance recommended Masters Autobody and Repair. Unfortunately it took some time to acquire the parts due to the supply chain issues, once they were received the owner Erik contacted me right away to schedule a day for me to bring in the vehicle for repairs. The paperwork was super easy and Hertz is directly across the street so picking up a rental could not have been simpler. Erik kept me informed on the ongoing repairs and when I could expect to pick up my car. Once it was repaired I came by dropped off the rental and walked across the street and picked up my car. The work was perfect and my car looked like new. The parts looked great and paint matched perfectly. This place is everything that I could want in a repair center. Eric is the most helpful and honest person I have worked with for repairs on my car. Last year, I had to have my side mirror replaced after it was vandalised with a baseball bat. Eric took the time to break everything down for me, provided the best possible price and the work was flawless. TBH, I am extremely particular with who I allow to work on my cars and Eric gave me the greatest confidence. And, I had no second thoughts with Masters as they treat my car as if it was their own. Recently had an issue with my side mirror and stopped by to obtain a quote before beginning the repair process. Eric came out and greeted me immediately. We had a friendly chat for a few minutes as he remembered me from our last meeting. He then looked at the mirror and investigated what the problem was. Quickly he realized the issue and took the time to explain what might have happened to cause the motor to not move the mirror anymore. The repair was completed in a timely manner and told me to come back if there are any problems with the operation. I'm confident the repair will not fail as Eric does things correctly the first time and doesn't cut corners. Once he was finished with the repair I respectfully asked what the charge would be for his time and effort. Eric replied "no charge for this, it was an easy fix". I insisted on paying for the work and he politely declined again. Now where do you get customer service like that nowadays? Not many places I can tell you. Anywhere else would have charged me an insane amount! My search for an auto repair facility is over. I will only let Eric and Masters work on my vehicles. First the good: Eric was a nice polite person to work with even though I had shown some frustration in the amount of time it took for the repair. He was kind throughout the entire process and picked up the phone each time I called him. The work itself was also pretty good. The bumper looked new and the aftermarket parts reattached on was done very well. Some roadbumps: The only 1 off star that I have to list out is the amount of time to get the repair done. I understand that he is always busy with new customers and claims, but it took over 3.5 weeks for a easy bumper replacement, that usually takes other shops a week or so. Like many other reviews here have mentioned, if you are willing to wait over 3 weeks for your repair without a rush, then I would recommend Eric's Masters Autobody as I can see he does try to push for quality work. If you expect quick service and expect to be in and out, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

My car being a 2002 model, he gave me his opinion, and was spot on, and did I say honest? After evaluating my car, he suggested and gave me a card for another auto body shop down the street to better serve my needs. This tells me this establishment is not in just for the money/business, Eric really knows what he's talking about, and will help you with the right information, regardless of being a paying customer or not. Eric made my 2002 Honda CRV look great after a mild rear-ender crunched the tail of our daily runner. The process of communicating with the insurance agency was all done by him. The main thing I liked about my experience with Eric and his shop was that I felt I was the most important customer he had. He really listened to me. I brought my 2001 Lincoln to get an estimate for repair. Being that I only have liability on my car, this was going to be out of pocket. The collision was at my driver side door and front side fender. I was unable to fully open my driver side door which had me going through the front passenger side door when exiting and entering the car. Thank God for the bench seating! Anyways, Eric took a look at it and got his tool and fixed it right then and there on the street so that the door would at least open and close for me. I still have the dent on it but being that the car is 19 y/o with 290,000 miles on it, he suggested to not spend the $2500 or more to replace the door and fender. I truly appreciate his help with my car free of charge and his honest advice. It is so refreshing to deal with kind and honest people! read more

Beware, this business will give you the run around and break promises for weeks. Eric claims that no one is able to do thing cheaper than him and I believe him. I fell for everything he said. Eric is full of misleading information and broken promises, which can lead to costing you thousands in fees. My car has at least 5500 in damages plus I am renting the car from someone for 200 dollars per week, so I need it repair asap. I made it clear to him that I can only wait up to 2 weeks. The accident happen on early April. First, he claimed that he cannot do an estimate on my car because he was busy, which was understandable. He requires a week, which I give. I call it twice a week and he promise to call me back by the end of the day and never did for 2 weeks. He never called me. After the 2 week period, he said he needs more time and he will call me back. He never more called back. By week 3, I told him that I cannot wait any longer and I have to take my business somewhere else. He asked if me can have until Saturday and will call me back. Never call me back on Saturday. On Monday of week 4 he said it is at least 4700 in damages and I agree to have it repair for that much. He said that if I wait until early May when he could give me a greater discount. By week 4, I called him and on Monday he said that he is able to do it for 3700. So call back on Tuesday to bring the car in on Wednesday. I call on Wednesday and to bring in the call and he told me to wait until Saturday at first but change it to Sunday. The Shop was close on Sunday and I came all the way from Sacramento to Daly City to drop off my car. Very inconvenient. Now we are on week 5 and I call in on Monday saying I am bring the car. He said that he has not ordered the parts yet and he is going do it on Saturday. That is 6 weeks of fees that I have to pay. By Wednesday, my car was tow for being 30 days overdue, which requires an additional 500 dollars towing fee. If Eric was honest with me and stop giving me the run around and broken promises, I would not have have to pay all these fees. 5500 in damages, 1200 in rental fees, 500 in towing fees adding up costing me 7200. Thanks alot Eric. I should never believe a single word you said. Lesson learn. I will be seeing you in small claim court. read more

I went to two body shops and got really high quotes. Eric not only saw me on the spot and gave me estimate without an appointment. After hitting my car door and bending it, I couldn't close it shut because the metal locks didn't line up anymore. I found this place on Yelp and basically had to hold my door together while I slowly drove here. Eric was super nice and quickly found a tool to fix it. He lined up the locks and magically bent the door until it fit together again. He did not try to upsell me or anything and made the process super simple.
