Yavuz and his outstanding team did a phenomenal job refinishing our hardwoods. We had Mr. Sandless come out a few years ago and that was basically worthless. While we had to move all the furniture out of the hardwood area and not use the area for a number of days, it is so worth it. Our floors look better today than when we built our home 24 years ago. Yavuz is friendly, well educated and competitive in pricing. I was surprised to see just how many type of hardwood flooring you can get in 2017. For a business to have this many displays isn't cheap and it shows that he cares about giving people like my wife and I a place to still shop in the real world. Regarding the other two negative reviews, I haven't the slightest clue how someone could be so rude about the fact he only had one person on the showroom floor. Yavus has refinished our wood floors after a flood. We were extremely happy with the work and timeliness. A few years later, he screen coated, due to cleaning lady spilling windex. We now have dog scratches and appliance removal scratches and normal kitchen and party wear and tear. Yavus kindly came out today to give me his honest opinion-too early to do anything at this time. He felt it didn't look too bad for its age and use. I recommend this company and will use him again when the time comes. read more

Yavuz and his team have exceeded our expectations. The laminate flooring they have installed is far superior to our previous floor and to anything we expected. The team was very professional and friendly.They took care of every detail and of some additional items, such as uneven subfloor and exposed TV cable, phone wires. We were referred to Masters Hardwood Flooring by a friend and we're so glad we hired them to install our hardwood floors! We went in on a Thursday, floors were delivered to our house the following Monday. We had a few days to allow the wood to acclimate and the floor was installed by Friday. Unbelievable products, service and install. We went with a wire-brushed oak plank and it looks amazing. The quality of the flooring is unlike anything else we saw at the big box stores. I think service starts with a return phone call. I called this company and he said he was on another line and asked if he could call me back. That happened twice with this company and never did I ever get a return phone call. I wanted to purchase flooring. I have seen the one star rating on this company and then the 5 star rating and I can' t imagine them achieving a 5 star when their initial service is so poor and rude. read more

Plus he offered to come back and make a threshold for me to transition from the hall to the bathroom at a later date at no charge. Masters Hardwood recently installed 1200 sq ft of beautiful Maple engineered hardwood for us. They had a large selection of flooring to choose from, and Yavuz spent a lot of time with us talking through the pros and cons of 'real' hardwood vs engineered hardwood. When he arrived to take the measurements, he not only brought a sample of our selection, but of several similar selections so that we could see the wood in context and appreciate how it looked under real conditions. He didn't try to upsell us, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the project. (We learned a lot even though we'd done our homework ahead of time!) His advice and recommendations were very practical, site-oriented, and budget-conscious, all of which we appreciated. Akin and his demo/installation crew were amazing!... professional, on-time, incredibly hard-working - real perfectionists. We touched base with them every day and they consulted us before making decisions (like which way to lay the hardwood in different rooms, whether to use the Maple or the base board for the riser in the sunken living room, etc). We really appreciated their concern for our happiness with their work, and I can't say enough about the quality job that they did. We are so pleased! read more

We decided to pull out our old tile in the kitchen and dining room and lace in wood to match the hardwood in the living room and hallway. We got 3 quotes. One of which took 3 weeks to get back to us, the second of which was 1,000 dollars more than Master's. Master's hardwood was quick, proficient, and professional. Let me say, this is much more of an ordeal than we thought. You have to move everything out, and the process takes up to a week, in refinishing alone, not to mention the 2 weeks of acclimating the new wood to the house. Our guys, Toni and his brother, were super friendly, and very helpful. Several days, they worked from 8 am to 7 pm to get the job done. Our new floors look amazing, we repainted the walls and baseboards, and it truly looks like a new home. I couldn't be happier with the job that Master's provided. read more

Wow! Masters Hardwood Flooring is a shining star on the Central Coast! This highly professional business is run like a tight ship. They came in on budget and on time (even early!). The crew was well supervised, and crew members went above and beyond in every way. After we chose a beautiful, high quality hardwood floor from an impressive array of samples in their showroom, they came to our home to provide an estimate, which was less expensive than Home Depot and other installers. Within days they returned to install hardwood in almost our entire house (took out all the carpets), so this was a major undertaking. The new hardwood floors look gorgeous. I wish Yelp had negative stars for this company. I read all he positive reviews on Yelp and decided to hire Masters. They installed and finished new hardwood floors in our home and the finish was toxic and bubbled up through he cracks everywhere. It took them 45 days to do the work. I could launch into a litany of further complaints, but will spare you the details. Bottom line is Yavuz was extremely argumentative, full of excuses, and unprofessional. We had to hire a forensic flooring specialist to examine his work. It was found to be very substandard. He gave us back some money only after we reported him to the California Contractors board and attacked his bond. Net result was we had to move out of our house twice in order for the floors to be made right. There are better flooring contractors out there. Approach with caution. read more

He guided us through many types of flooring and we decided on a hickory floor that is absolutely beautiful. All of our homes have had wood flooring and we have learned installation is the most important component. The install team at Masters are the BEST we have had! So detailed, placing the different hues of wood color so as not to have too many dark or light in one section. The stairs are definitely a show piece. It's the first line of vision when you enter our home and we have been getting many compliments. The stairs are installed by Yavus's brother who is an artist! He really knows what he's doing! It was a very easy and pleasant experience working with Yavuz and his crew. That's why I feel this establishment deserves their name "Masters". We highly recommend them. My husband and I went in to Masters Hardwood Flooring. Upon arriving and opening the door we were met by the Owner just a couple steps inside the door. I was remarking what a beautiful store it was and spotted 5 or 6 floors that were croon worthy and I thought, finally, I've found what I'm looking for. Well, until the Owner treated us so rudely. Obviously we weren't wearing our "Carmel Furs and Jewels" and he just was not interested. While I was conferring with him my husband was looking at the large wood displays. The owner acted nervous and kept looking over his shoulder at my husband as if he, or ANYONE, could walk away with a 3 ft x 4 Ft display. He basically told me I needed to go somewhere else for a product and wanted to know if I had checked out any of the 'carpet and flooring' stores. I was a little taken aback as I was standing in a flooring store, ready to purchase for my kitchen remodel already in progress, and he was not interested. His son kept walking up behind my husband, who was standing in front of the flooring displays looking at them, and he would say " hey, hey, you need move so I can get around". There was nobody else in the business....NOBODY and my husband was only standing in front of the store displays, he was not blocking any passage. It was evident he wanted us to leave. We were only in the store less than 8 minutes. I requested if it would be okay to at least look around but he made so uncomfortable I made a quick pass around and then exited. Before we even made it to our car parked right outside the building, he and his son were walking past our car as if to check out what we were driving. It's a brand new Lincoln MKX, in case you were wondering. The store was still open, sign was still up so they weren't actually leaving. It was only 2:00 in the afternoon. Wow, rude. Beware! read more
