I recently used Masters of Assembly to install my Ikea kitchen, and I'm very satisfied with the results! I used IKEA's measuring and planning services because it was easy to bundle and sign up for initially, but the quote the company gave me for installation seemed on the higher side so I decided to shop around. MoA has great reviews, so I contacted them via their website. They got back to me fairly quickly with a quote that was about half the price of the initial one I had gotten from the other company. They estimated the job would take 2-3 days, so I booked them. The only part I think they can improve on is the initial explanation of how the project will start, booking, etc. There was some miscommunication about who would purchase, pick up hardware, and something else-- but honestly it was easy to clear up and the process was straightforward once the team got here. I was worried that because their bid was lower than a few competitors and it was for a 2-3 day timeframe they would rush the project. Absolutely didn't need to worry about that. Their manager at the office was in touch with me throughout installation and the guys on the team (Mark, Sergei, and Alexei) were incredibly hardworking, polite, and exacting in the installation. I can't believe how PERFECT and measured everything looks and feels-- even the way the doors are spaced and the alignment of the handles, etc -- and we have older uneven Brooklyn floors they had to deal with. But even when the project took a day or two longer than anticipated, the guys kept their high standards and didn't slap dash any of it. There were no surprise costs or purchasing/decisions made without our prior approval. I never felt like I was getting shortchanged or being bullied into a decision, be it design or billing related. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of straightforward installation that doesn't require electric or plumbing work from the same company. My Ikea kitchen feels like a six figure project that was achieved for less than 5 figures. I should also note that we dealt with junk removal separately but mostly Bc we wanted to do it in a separate timeline. We also handled some of the cleanup post-installation (sweeping, mopping, etc) but they did a wipedown and broke down boxes as well. I didn't mind an hour of me tidying in order to save a few thousand bucks! read more

This company is Fantastic! I needed to complete a kitchen remodel fast for a rental property and was going to use the recommended Ikea contractor for the east coast, however, they simply sent me quote and never responded to my email questions or called me back when I left messages. I finally tried to call other installers and stumbled on Masters of Assembly. From the start they picked up the phone and each and every time I called they answered the phone or returned the call soon after. Natasha assisted me with the kitchen and answered all my questions with expertise, understanding and short cuts to make the project progress faster. On the day of installation Dean and Mark arrived on time to install the new Kitchen. As with every construction project, there were problems. However for each issue that came up they managed to find a solution. Although I tend to panic when issues arise, they always remained calm and solved each problem as they arose. We even had an issue where I ordered the wrong microwave and was sure I would need to return it where I would incur a 20% restocking fee, but the two gentlemen gave it some thought and made the microwave fit perfectly. With all the problems we had with this kitchen, they never asked for additional charges and honored the price quote they originally gave me which was considerable lower than what Ikea recommended vendor had quoted me. As an investor in several properties, I am no stranger to construction and Kitchen remodeling projects, but I can honestly say, with all the contractors I have dealt with, these guys were not only the most professional but also the most reasonably priced. Amazing job. Very professional, polite, clean, organized and displaying a high level of attention to detail. From the first intro to Mark, Dean and Natasha, I was confident I found the right people to help get our Mom's new kitchen installed. First, for a reasonable consultation fee, they came to measure and discuss how the space is used. Based on our feedback, Mark and Dean then dropped all the required specs and items into Ikea's design tool. From there I made the purchase of the cabinets directly from Ikea. Natasha is great on the admin side for written communications and tracking of MoA progress payments. Important note, it's not on these guys to determine the level of quality of the walls they are installing the cabinets on! For our part, given the age of our Mom's home and the poor state of her walls, my boyfriend, brother and I did a lot of prep work to reframe the walls, add blocking for cabinet mounts and new drywall and a hit of paint primer. This gave MoA a real solid base to do their work and, for their part, they are perfectionists! I would often hear Mark talking to himself as he worked, confirming leveling and details, saying to himself "perfect" when satisfied! :) The end result is something that our Mom can enjoy for many years to come. This review is a couple of months late but MofA impressed me so much I felt like I needed to take the time and give them a review. I live at the Jersey Shore and had a few boxes of IKEA furniture that needed to be assembled and also some mirrors that needed to be hung. I didn't know what to expect since these guys were driving all the way from Brooklyn and I hadn't read the reviews. Both gentlemen arrived on time (they were GENTLEMEN - so polite and good communicators) and took their shoes off at the door. They finished a desk, a table and a dresser in less than an hour and then proceeded to help me by hanging 3 mirrors that I didn't request ahead of time. We had MOA hang our Ikea cabinets because Ikea wanted to schedule us 3 months in advance! MOA had plenty of available times so we decided to use them instead of the Ikea contractor. While here, we discovered that the Ikea contractor that we used to measure the kitchen had gotten the height of one of the cabinets wrong... unbelievable. MOA adjusted and was able to custom fit one of our cabinets to make everything work (we billed the cost back to Ikea for screw it up). Our kitchen also had a slightly odd layout so the filler panels needed to be cut at different angles which makes it hard to make the filler pieces look nice. The installers did a perfect job and were extremely precise. We are very very happy with MOA. read more

SO GRATEFUL I FOUND THIS COMPANY, THEY'RE GREAT! I'm so satisfied with the results of the kitchen installation. The two employees who came to install my IKEA base cabinets were on time, professional, meticulous and efficient. I had a mess of a situation (two other people partially assembled the cabinets from a home-task website, each of them not completing the job). These guys from Ultra knew exactly what they were doing, fixing and redoing the past people's poor jobs. These guys are great! They were not only knowledgable about my specific product I had installed (an unusual murphy bed/sofa combo from Canada), but they also worked quickly, effectively, and for a great price! Furthermore, when a large panel that came as part of my delivery would not fit up the elevator, the two installers single-handedly carried it up the narrow, winding stairwell in my building all the way to the eighth floor, all without a moment's hesitation or complaint. I wish EVERYONE did their job like these guys do. They work super hard and efficiently and take pride in precision. Our apartment is really old and the walls are all kinds of messed up, NOT right angles. They actually cut things so they look straight. They even cut our counter in a curve to hug the wall properly.
