He also removed the film from the prep table which is a giant pita, broke down the boxes, and got them ready to recycle. Wore a mask whole time - n95 - and was ridiculously professional. Before arrival, I had received a very reasonable quote for assembly of a large armoire and installation of a floating shelf unit. Great communication, responsive and courteous. The day of assembly: Chi and John called to find out if I was home, as they were running a bit early and showed up to my apartment... And then, magic! After some delusional thinking that I could put together two Ikea Malm dressers with a friend, I came to Yelp to find an affordable and reliable source for furniture assembly. Like many others here I hired them to assemble a Pax system purchased from Ikea. I was hesitant to just "hire anyone" since this is a very expensive system and I wanted it done correctly. I emailed a few companies and Drill4 You gave me the lowest price. Checked out their Yelp page and was very impressed. John (the owner?) was very professional and set everything up very quickly via email. The workers came on time. Yes, on time. Woah! It's sad to say that this is a rarity when it comes to most other companies. They were friendly and very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. These guys live and breath Ikea furniture. They didn't even need to look at the instructions to know what to do. Unfortunately, Ikea failed to deliver the doors for the PAX sytem and they guys pointed this out right away. They suggested I call Ikea and told me they would come back once I had the doors and frame delivered.. In the meantime, they quickly got to work assembling the wardrobe and a nightstand. I was impressed by the speed and efficiency and how great the wardrobe looked when put together. It took over a month for Ikea to deliver the doors and frame (Ikea customer service is pretty much the worst thing ever. I had to go to the store so many times and had to call almost daily to resolve this, even through it was clearly their mistake). I kept Drill 4 You in the loop and once I received the doors we scheduled a time for them to come back. Did I mention that they didn't charge me to come back? One of the many reasons why they go above and beyond. The second visit was again, a success. On time, friendly, professional. We needed a large wardrobe, quickly, so we got one of the Pax models from Ikea. I put the wardrobe portion together but wanted to get some help for the large sliding doors and mirror, given that I don't have a ladder, power drill, etc. Great experience with these guys, they were prompt, know how to use email (not super common in the handyman industry), and they guys are awesome. Very friendly, clean up after, etc. Would definitely recommend if you have a complex piece from Ikea or lack the time to deal with assembly. This is a great team and well worth the investment to get the job done right and quickly. Last week was the second time I've worked with this team, and the second great experience. One of the best things - on time! Not like the cable guy, this team communicates schedules really well. It would have taken me days of effort and cursing and beer to accomplish what these guys did in 4 hours (3 large, complex pieces). They were considerate, clean and inventive every step of the way. They were thinking ahead (e.g. recognizing power outlets that would be blocked) and asking questions to make sure everything was just right. The team cut holes for cables, cleaned up dust and packaging, and explained positioning and build options. I really like the value IKEA furniture brings - but the frustration of putting it together can be a barrier - Drill Professional knocks that barrier down and makes IKEA pieces a better value. Some highlights: --He unbolted it from the wall, and put it together correctly and then re-secured it to the wall. --I had lost screws and pieces from the original and he was patient while I searched for them, and then was able to make do with his own materials. --Our apartment floor is sloped, but he made the wardrobe stable! First, I will mention that I am as picky as they come. I look at every detail, every line, every smudge; I usual have my own tape measure and level out while the construction is being done. Second, I will simply say that Drill was perfect. My assigned team was Jose and John. They were both very good and took so much care to make adjustments as I needed and desired. They were professional, timely, clean, and mostly a mixture of skill and kindness. Also important to mention: when dealing with Ikea furniture, it helps to have professionals that know their way around. That is, John and Jose must have installed hundreds, if not thousands, of PAX wardrobes. They knew everything to be done, and even came prepared with additional assembly tools and supplies -- their experience building and installing such furniture shows immensely as they knew all the potential pitfalls of constructing a large system within an older Manhattan building with uneven floors and other challenges. Honest and polite assembly team, easy to reach to schedule, good quality of work, Drill is totally worthy of 5 star! We bought furniture from IKEA for our empty apartment and it was way too big a job for me and my husband to assemble them all by ourselves. So I contacted Drill and decided to try their service based on their quote and quick response on scheduling the date (good sign already). On the day, a team of two guys arrived a little bit late, but I received a call from John right around the scheduled time, and let me know that they are a bit late but on their way, it was no problem at all, but I thought it was very professional to let us know that they are running late (even a little bit). The assembly team was nice and polite. Fast forward 2.5 hours, they finished everything (Sofa, 6 chairs, TV unit and many more), all in good standard (no loose hinges etc.)! I was particularly impressed that they caught that we got a dining table in the different colour to chairs by mistake. They could've easily just assemble everything blindly and get paid, then leave the mistakes up to us, but instead, they asked if this was intentional and offered to come back to finish the job when we get a replacement! When we finally got the right table a couple weeks later, John came to assemble. We asked him to do a couple of more jobs in addition to the table. Another impressive thing happened, when he had to stand on the sofa (to hang the mirror), he took off his jacket and covered the sofa so that he is not standing on our sofa directly (shoes were off way before this point), and he even said "excuse me for standing on your sofa"!
