I reached out to Mat when we were still house shopping to check coverage on some of the homes we were considering, and he kindly supported me and helped me understand costs. When we finally purchased a home, he was very helpful in pulling quotes for me for the house, condo, umbrella and even a policy on my ring. Their rates were very competitive and Mat is amazing. He was very responsive, took as much time as needed to explain the policies to me, answer my questions, discuss the right coverage, etc. You can tell he truly cares about his clients. The atmosphere was very comfortable but professional right from the start. I went in to discuss life insurance, never a fun subject, but Mat explained the different types of life insurance in a away that even a dummy like me could understand. Mat is great. He is so patience and accommodating. He met with me at a coffee shop to discuss renters, car, and earthquake insurance because I didn't have a car yet and could not drive out to meet him. On top of that, it was after "work" hours. I don't know many agents that would do that. He followed up with an email after the meeting, and kept in contact even when I forgot to respond. He has excellent connections, and has provided me with a number for an appraiser and has offered to help me find a new agent when I move states. At 56 years of age, I've had several different auto and home insurers. Mat Dahms office is, by FAR, the friendliest, most efficient office I've ever dealt with. Someone always answers the phone - there is no annoying recording telling you what numbers to press. The person who answers, sometimes Mat himself, always answers my questions right away. This review is probably long overdue, but I need to give props to Mat and his staff. I have had car insurance through State Farm ever since I first got my driver's license--so 18 years now--but Mat is the first agent who has actually gone out of his way to meet me, learn more about my personal and professional situation and needs, and get my issues resolved quickly and efficiently. When our house got broken into, he helped get the ball rolling with claims and followed up for me to make sure the claim had been filed and the refund was coming...and I had my refund within two weeks' time. State Farm then chose to non-renew my renters' insurance due to that loss, but Mat went to bat for me and tried to convince them to renew based on my long-standing history with the company. Alas it didn't work, but I appreciated the effort, and he did send me several other contacts who might be able to provide renters' insurance for me outside of State Farm. A couple of times there were issues with bills and Mat and his staff got them resolved very quickly and always with personal phone calls and emails to follow up and let me know what was happening. They've even called to say hi and check in, and have helped me get the best rates. I really appreciate their level of customer service, and I think my insurance rates are very reasonable considering the quality of coverage and support.
