The quality of matcha they use is always superb and the ambiance is calming and relaxing which never fails to make me come back for more. Matchaful only serves non-dairy matcha lattes and specializes in everything matcha from straight matcha tea to matcha pastries, matcha overnight oats, and jars of matcha noodles. I tried half the menu of creative matcha creations and can recommend the following: Vanilla Zen - The OG creative matcha latte that is perfect for all occasions. It's mildly sweet and balanced and perfect served hot on a chilly day. Secret Garden - Fragrant notes from the rose and lavendar and slightly herbal from the gingko and really makes you feel like you drank from a secret garden Indigo Glow - Sweet and nutty from the taro root, I find this drink to be sweeter than the vanilla zen so I generally get this when I have a sweet tooth Luscious Coconut - I love having this cold and it's great for my no carb days. It's subtly sweet from the vanilla extract and super creamy from the coconut milk. It's also keto friendly. Moonlight Sesame - The sesame is subtle and lends a toasted/smoky flavor to the matcha and tastes great hot. The baristas that take my orders are always super friendly and knowledgable. They make you feel welcome and generally have a calm energy to them. Sadly this location doesn't have indoor seating and the outdoor seating is not warm enough for cold days which is my only gripe. I had high hopes for this place. I had seen it all over social media and it seems like a crowd favorite in the city. I came on a Saturday and the street as well as the shop were packed. There were at least four or five employees working that day. The environment felt a little chaotic. The staff wasn't too friendly or helpful. They kept yelling at people not to be in the doorway, which I understand. But there's always a nicer way to communicate things. All the menus were stacked right by the cash register, which was inconvenient since there is no large menu on display. There are so many different options to choose from, it's a little overwhelming. Since it was a warm day, I decided to go with the sunlight spritz as I thought it would be refreshing. 1/5 of the drink was decent but then it got so bitter. I couldn't finish the drink. I hate wasting, but I couldn't stand it. I threw over half of it away. I am a big fan of Matcha, and although this experience was disappointing, I'd love to give it another try someday. On any given morning competition is heavy in Nolita for your snacking and caffeinating needs. The verdant green outdoor seating area for Matchaful won over our my friend and I. Inside, just one employee was manning the counter and luckily only one customer was ahead of us. We were a little disappointed by the selection from the pastry case, but appreciated the pre-packaged, takeout friendly versions of the Matcha Avocado Yogurt and Spiced Overnight Oats. The soft serve machine is operational as well. We ordered a regular Matcha Latte and seasonal Nutnog Latte, reluctantly shelling out for the Nolita prices. Maybe the upcharge is worth it for the process of hand whisking each individual drink. While the staff member was incredibly friendly, we were let down by our drinks - not much foam, and too much milk. We could barely taste the matcha in our drinks until the very bottom where it all sat concentrated. For a cafe dedicated to matcha and paying $6-8 a cup, we had hoped for better quality drinks. Cute matcha place I am pretty picky as I make matcha at home and have been drinking it for about a year now. The vibes are just 10/10 Super chic and very friendly and awesome staff! Baristas definitely made the experience. Not really a sit down cafe, there is limited space inside. I got an iced matcha with hints of lavender - it was such a perfect convo. I've been to quite a few Matcha places in the city and this spot by far is my favorite. I've even turned one of my friends who is a Matcha devotee on to this spot. (Shout out to Dana who I know reads my reviews, lol!) This tea spot has the most delicious, pure flavors. Each selection stands out and has bold notes with each sip. Each drink delivers both on style and taste. I love that each drink has a coordinating mindset or attribute that it "helps with" (calm, mood, focus, etc). Normally, I'd harp on the price point but honestly folks- this spot is worth it. I also just love their minimalist, clean, green decor and style. It's the little touches that get me and bring me joy. Their entire aesthetic is *chef's kiss*. The service has always been awesome, especially when I'm between two different options. The barista has never led me astray and has helped me when I've brought in a newbie. I haven't had any of their treats, so I can't speak to that- but I do know they offer healthy, vegan options. great matcha spot in soho! the most uniquely crafted matcha drinks i've never seen anywhere else. i love that they use high quality matcha too as their drinks definitely pull out wonderful flavors from the tea. the service has always been friendly here. my favorites are the mont blanc and shroomy white chocolate. the downsides were that it is overpriced, expect to pay $8-$10 on your matcha and i found it to be inconsistent in taste each time i went. sometimes it's more bitter with a lack of balance in flavor or sweetness. other times is perfect. they are all friendly workers so they are always happy to adjust it which is great :) read more

I came here thinking of getting their matcha soft serve. Thankfully, they give free samples of it so I tried the matcha black sesame twist. The black sesame flavor was very prominent and overshadowed the matcha soft serve, so I really could only taste the black sesame :( I think the flavor (of the black sesame at least) was good and not too sweet, but the texture was a bit grainy and not too creamy, since I believe it's a nut-based ice cream. I decided not to go with the soft serve since it didn't have the texture I personally like for ice cream. Instead, I decided to try their Lucent Lychee drink which was an iced drink with lychee juice, matcha, coconut milk, and gynostemma (had no idea what that was haha). The drink was pretty refreshing -- the lychee flavor was very prevalent and surprisingly paired well with the creaminess of the coconut milk. I do wish I could taste the matcha more though, especially for the hefty $9 this drink cost ;_; On a side note, my drink came with a bamboo straw which I appreciate (and honestly might keep to reuse haha) read more

THE BEST MATCHA IN THE CITY. and also my favorite place. I shamelessly go here everyday and tell myself that it's self care. Matchaful only uses ingredients you can trust and for someone with food sensitivties, it means a lot that they put so much thought into only using healthy, organic ingredients. And Most of their treats are gluten free! I love that it's not just matcha and milk like most places -- they add adaptogens like ashwagandha and supplements like MCT oil. I even bring non-matcha lovers here and they fall in love. This location doesn't have indoor seating, but the Canal St location does and it's truly a pretty location. This Mulberry St location does have nice outdoor seating though. My top 2 suggestions are the Indigo Glow (iced or hot) and the Vanilla Zen (iced). More so the Indigo Glow if you have a sweet tooth. You also have to try the Matcha soft serve which is vegan and has no refined sugar! They also come out with seasonal recipes and new treats here and there. I believe the whole menu selection is vegan, utilizing alternative milks eg. almond, oat, etc, and natural sweeteners.
