So, I've taken two years to cool down and wait for them to come through with an apology and a refund. I've waited and received neither. And lest you think I've forgotten details of what happened I'm writing this review with the email and print correspondence, written contract and notes taken from phone calls with them during the time I used their services. They put on a charming in person presentation about how much care they put into choosing the people they matched their clients with. When I asked how these men were selected they alluded to lists of eligible bachelors who used to pay for this service or are currently paying for this service. I paid over $1,000 of my hard earned money (which was never refunded). Here are the snippets from emails I sent in after my two problematic dates: ------------------------------------ Feedback I emailed MOC after date #1 on 5-27-11 "--MY DATE-- was 15 minutes late but was nice, polite and good looking. However, this cannot count as one of my matches because they are supposed to be based on my criteria. He was in the seminary for over 10 years and is now a VERY Catholic man: no sex unless it's in marriage and for the purpose of having a baby, anti-gay, etc. There is no way humanly possible that anyone who had even glanced at my file might think that could be an acceptable match. Its a clear fundamental difference in lifestyle and values. I told --MOC EMPLOYEE 1-- outright during our interview that I had just split from an evangelical Christian due to religious difference among other things. This should not be news to her or the rest of the team. Please forward this to --MOC EMPLOYEE 1 & 2--. Also, is my 2nd date still on for next Wednesday? And is it possible to make sure he's not a bible banging Catholic? Or any of the other deal breakers written on my intake form?" ------------------------------------ Feedback I emailed MOC after date #2 on 6-1-11 "My date didn't know that I was matched with him through a professional, high end matchmaking service. He was under the impression I was there like him, for a "free date to meet someone else in the database who had gone a mixer at some point over the years." He also said, with surprise and concern, "why would they pair you up with a free-loader like me and not someone else looking for a love match?" ------------------------------------ MOC sent me the phone numbers of two of their current female clients for me to call and ask about their experiences. I called one of the women only after I began to have problems with the service. She told me of similar experiences and the low caliber of the men she was matched with. I feel gullible for believing their pitch and dumb for not having called one of the other female clients earlier. I should have more aggressively pursued getting a refund. Don't make the same mistakes I made.

I had canceled so many plans to make their event for them to cancel last minute. When I asked for a refund they said the I didn't tell them in time and needed to let them know 5 days before the event to cancel. But on the last email they sent out for the event it said please email confirm you are going. I never emailed them and they just decided to put me on the list. So just checking my email and I see I am on the list for event I didn't sign up for seems super sketchy. So I email back saying I can't make it and asked for a refund. To get a response back the best we can do is give you a free code for another event. These events rarely happen if ever... I just wanted a refund which I rightfully deserved after that whole experience. Please if you are looking for love go to an actual speed dating company not this scam. The number listed on Groupon was incorrect, so I had to hunt down the right contact number. I left a voicemail and received no response after waiting for days. I tried to book online, the website was faulty. I sent a detailed email, and again, no response. I finally messaged the spa through Facebook as my last attempt to open any line of communication. When someone called me back shortly after I sent the Facebook message, I was ecstatic, thinking I was about to book my reflexology appointment. As soon as I heard the person on the other end, I noticed that her tone was off. Soon after she began speaking I got the impression that she was annoyed as she was a short with me. The moment she confirmed I had the Groupon, she immediately informed me she was no longer accepting Groupon clients. I believe she said she was "at capacity and only works one day at the location, and she already told Groupon this," then, she dismissed me by directing me to contact Groupon for a refund. I was at a loss for words and disappointed that after all my efforts, I wasn't going to get the service I was looking forward to, and this woman could not care less. I didn't argue, I wasn't rude. Fifty eight seconds, that's how long the call was, not even a full minute of her time. One might speculate I was collateral damage for her annoyance with Groupon. This short interaction lacked professionalism, empathy, and kindness at the lowest level. She presented zero regard for the runaround and my time spent for trying to redeem a voucher I paid for. I was treated as though I was insignificant once she realized I was in the Groupon category of people. Here is what makes this experience especially frustrating: this is someone whose services focus on positivity, balance, and helping others. Yet the energy projected on that call was negative and unkind. Opposite of helpful and healing. The irony is hard to ignore. Every interaction should matter, especially when you are claiming to promote balance and well-being. Kindness, professionalism, and empathy should never be conditional. People rarely remember every word you say to them, but they always remember how you made them feel and how you treated them. It doesn't cost anything to be kind, especially if it's only for fifty eight seconds.
