LTM (laughing to myself) ~ I just can't help myself...every time I say "Mathers" I feel like I have a lisp...Okay, moving on... While in Orlando I met up with the infamous Ronnald M, a fellow Yelper & dear friend, for a drink at this local Speakeasy that had rave reviews. When you enter the lobby it is unassuming...You will be greeted by a lovely host who sends you upstairs on the elevator with the "secret word" of the night to enter. Once upstairs there are a few more greeters to guide you into the hidden space which reminded me of a huge loft in NYC. Very high ceilings, brick walls and comfy sofas await you...The bar is huge and fully stocked with top shelf liquor. The menu is extensive with fabulous names. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming here. We totally scored...it happened to be a Tuesday night which is also Burlesque night! It was fun "adulting" here...We even had some singles on hand to tuck away in our performers outfits:). I ordered the "Jalisco Passion" made w/tequila, allsprice dram, cardamaro, passion fruit & lime. It was very good. Ronnald got the mocktail version of the "Blueberry Basil Gimlet." Highly recommend checking this place out! *They do serve food - flatbreads, charcuterie etc. We ordered the pretzel which was soft and yummy - comes w/2 dipping sauces *Parking is very limited here ~ Park in the lot next door it's $10 ~ and that's all I have to say about that...
I've been wanting to come here for quite a few years, but I never seem to make it to downtown Orlando. On this trip, we finally made it a point to go. Unfortunately, it didn't go exactly as planned. Our friends wanted to arrive at 7, but the burlesque show didn't start until much later. The drinks are expensive, so there was no way we were going to hang out for three or four hours waiting for the show to begin. That said, this was definitely a fun experience. Riding up the elevator and entering through a hidden handle tucked into a bookshelf immediately set the tone. There was a small table with a typewriter where someone apparently sits and writes poems -- I would have loved to see that in action. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is a bathtub filled with faux rose petals. Everywhere you look, the space transports you to another era. We wandered around for a few minutes while my girlfriend shared some of the building's history, then ended up at the bar since most of the open seating was already reserved. We ordered espresso martinis and an Old Fashioned. The drink prices definitely reflect the atmosphere, so just be prepared for that. We stayed for one round and had every intention of coming back later, but we never did. I'd call that a fail on our part -- there's always next time, and I'll gladly make a trip back.
Amazing drinks and service as always. We went during happy hour, so it wasn't as busy. The servers and bartenders were great...probably the best cocktails in Orlando. I got the Phoenix and the Mathers Fizz, both great signature cocktails. I would always recommend this place!
Went for happy hour for half price signature cocktails and we were able to find seats right away. If you come early (between 5:30-7pm) it will not be crowded at all. I feel like small or large groups can definitely enjoy their time here. Love the speakeasy vibes of walking in through the bookcase. The cocktails tasted very good and well curated. We were able to order a handful of drinks as a party of 6. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their drinks! There's plenty of seating with couches, chairs, tables and bar seating. Bathrooms clean & waitresses were attentive. Retro Music & Dim lighting, definitely bring a jacket- that AC was blowwwing. There were also board games in the back! Would definitely return.
One of the first spots on my list in Orlando. All of the staff are friendly and social and the atmosphere is incredible! Happy hour from 4-7 on drinks, you can't go wrong. My favorite is the bathtub gin. We tried the pretzel and the flatbread pepperoni pizza. The flatbread was fresh dough and the pepperoni was cut from a stick. All very good and much needed to soak up those delicious drinks. Burlesque is on Tuesday and Saturday around 10pm. We are still trying to make it on one of those nights.
Checked out Mathers for an office happy hour close to the office. We love the vibe and decor inside as very old times but classic. There used to be a hidden door book you had to find to open the speakeasy but they have replaced it with a regular knob. Drinks are always amazing and our waitress was very good at remembering what we had despite being such a big group! My only complaint is that they only really have pretzels, and charcuterie for their food options. It would be nice to have some warm bites to accompany the drinks as well on top of this. Overall love the esthetic and will be back for their drinks!

Hidden on the 3rd floor behind a trick bookcase in a mini library, you feel like you've stepped straight back into the Prohibition era the moment you walk in. Low lighting, soft music, and warm, welcoming smiles set the tone. Seating is first-come, first-serve on plush leather couches, or you can grab your drink at the bar and stand. Their menu is diverse with something to please almost anyone, but the standout for me was the Bathtub Gin, easily one of the best gin cocktails I've ever had. If you're lucky enough to visit when their corner bartender Blake is working, ask for something from his private menu. It's a guaranteed win every time. Hands down, this is the best speakeasy in Orlando, possibly in the nation, and it could even rank among the best cocktail bars anywhere. Burlesque night on Tuesdays is always a blast and a midweek highlight worth experiencing. Side note... they have a dress code so ensure you look it up before just popping in.

Super fun "speak easy" lounge. We go here every year for Christmas and it does not disappoint when it comes to vibes. Servers are decent. Not the most friendly but I'm sure it is a tough job sometimes making these specific cocktails. It's been such a long time since I have visited Mathers and in the last week was able to go twice! The holiday decor is up which was such a nice and cozy touch. They also have two holiday drinks that you can try. The aspen drink is a yummy treat but strong! Our server was so quick and friendly. She promptly got our drink orders and checked on us often! We went a littler earlier in the evening so there wasn't a line to get in- which I love. We got to catch the burlesque show which was a fun surprise since we weren't expecting to catch it. The espresso martinis were delicious as well!! I had a great time and the music was catchy without be too loud.
Place is everything you would want for an event classy, great service, & spectacular atmosphere. Haven't tried the food yet but we will in the future. Mathers Social is Also a Speak Easy that at times requires a password. This place is highly recommended.
Mathers has a happy hour! How amazing was it to find out this chic speakeasy has a craft cocktails happy hour. The service is excellent, and it's a perfect date or friends outing. I look forward to returning.
Place was a nice hidden gem. There was a speak easy on the top floor and a jazz club on the second. The speak easy was my favorite and there was a great saxophonist playing classics like ghostbusters. The staff were friendly and drinks came out quickly.

We came in for a girls night and had an amazing experience. Service was phenomenal. We sat in a back corner without much table space, so they brought out a folding table for our food and drinks. I absolutely love their happy hour. It goes till 7 and I love that you can get any of their Signature cocktails for happy hour prices. I had an espresso martini and a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Both were expertly mixed and absolutely delicious. For food, we got the giant soft pretzel, the meat and cheese board, and the hot honey pizza. All were delicious. The pretzel was our favorite. We ordered the milk and cookies and that was such a fun treat. The cookies were warm and served with oat milk and a shot. All around great bites. Tuesday night burlesque was lovely. The ladies are so talented and it's not as crowded on week nights. We love Mathers! read more

The place had a great vibe. This place is a speakeasy bar. The place looks very nice. Is free to get in. On Saturday nights, they have a burlesque show, sadly I missed the show. The bartender makes specialty drinks. The service was great. I would recommend this place. Where you are seated there is QR code on the tables. Rolando and Guid was very informative of the different bars available. read more
Yes MSG! What a cool bar! It's supposed to be a "Speakeasy" style with a hidden door, but when we arrived, someone was coming out and we walked right in. There's a dude downstairs that gives you some instructions on how to enter. That's a novel idea, but it wears off quickly if there are people going in and out. Once you're inside, the vibe is classic cocktail bar right out of the past (I wish I knew what decade, but I'd guess the 20's/30's is what they're going for). The bar staff is dressed similarly to keep the theme going. The bartender was making drinks like a madwoman. Waitresses were bringing orders to her, she was serving us at the bar, and she didn't miss a beat. It was mesmerizing to see someone with that work ethic. She also seemed to be having fun too. The old fashioned's were great and one of the better ones I've had at a bar. And the fact that drinks were half price during happy hour made them even better. It was a Saturday and Happy Hour ran till 7p so we had a few. The other drinks we tried were good and different, but I may stick to more classic cocktails when we return. If nothing else, Mather's, we will return. read more

Mathers is one of my go-to spots when out in Downtown Orlando! This speakeasy is serving up some amazing craft cocktails, and their small plates are delicious too. I love the live music and burlesque shows they feature-- this definitely makes for a fun night! Some of my favorite drinks are the watermelon mojito and the spicy margarita. The bathtub gin is also a classic, served in an actual bathtub cup (which you can keep for a few extra bucks). I always bring my friends to Mathers when they are visiting Orlando, and it's definitely worth checking out! read more

1920s atmosphere Mothers speakeasy is another gem in the heart of downown Orlando that you want to stop by, an incredible place, love their elegant,intimate vibes and stylish decorations. From the moment you walk in on the first floor greeter by the doorman until you get to the third floor the bartenders and the performers are so friendly service is a top notch. Library vibes and decorated with wooden furniture makes this place so elegant and classy. Love the story behind the building. They have a burlesque show as well and happy hour drinks and food. Drinks are exeptiona, I got an expresso martn is a little pricey but is worth it. Gratuity is also included. Make sure you go early space is limited and it gets a little crowded. Can't wait to come back and try their food menu and more craft drinks. read more

Love this place. Prohibition Speakeasy? I'm in! The drinks are fantastic, the bartenders are so nice, and the decor is out of this world. I also love that ALL age groups go here, from college kids to people getting off of work to more mature age groups. It's a really fantastic getaway from most of the other bars downtown Orlando. And safe. The security at the door saw me waiting for my uber and they asked me if I wanted to wait inside the doorway to be safer. Great people. read more

I absolutely love this place! Great drinks, chill vibes. I came on a Friday night on a brief visit to Orlando. On the outside it gives speakeasy, with the hidden doors disguised as a bookcase, but it's actually nice size. There was an awesome live violinist playing hip hop & R&B jams. He was even kind enough to come to our table to play birthday songs for our friend. It's a diverse, maybe 35+ crowd. The cocktails were absolutely delicious.. particularly the bathtub gin, which you can get in a typical martini glass or a small bathtub. read more

Love this spot. Cute place with a hidden door to enter. Definitely a great space to check out for happy hour drinks. I recently went on a weekday and they were playing some old school smooth R&B. So I was enjoying the vibe. Service is good and the drinks are even better. They do half of cocktails from 4 to 7. They also have a small food menu. One night I stayed long enough to catch the burlesque show. I think that's only on Saturdays. Overall a great experience and fun place. read more

My first time at Mathers and loved it! It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. They had a saxophonist playing some tunes. The truffle fig flatbread was delicious and my old fashioned was made on point! Will definitely be back. read more

Mather's is still one of the most beautiful bars in Orlando and definitely has the best happy hour in the city. I'm so glad they have kept prices the same even through the pandemic and post-pandemic and that the drinks are still high quality. I would only suggest that they add in a new cocktail or two to their menu if possible! read more
I finally had a chance to get to Mathers a few weeks back. I don't get downtown much and if I do it is for a bite to eat. So I was happy to learn they serve small bites like flatbread and cheese plate. The flatbread was delicious and much better than I had anticipated. I had a couple drinks, the old fashioned being my favorite. Was it my favorite old fashioned, no but it was pretty solid. I feel like the happy hour is hard to beat for drinks and food. A great selection of drinks and makes the prices more reasonable. The service was excellent and the whole team was attentive and quick to respond or answer any questions we had. Overall it is a cool space as we don't have many building in Orlando with "old" character. The variety of seating options lends well to various party sizes. I was not a fan of the entertainer/magician of the evening as he forced himself into showing us his tricks (which were excellent) and then demanded a tip and was extremely pushy about it and would not leave our table until we had. He even had the audacity to request more money from me the next day via Venmo. It would be nice to state up front and ask rather than just starting into a demonstration. read more

Came here with the fiance and family to celebrate my SIL graduation and the service and drinks were incredible. We had: Bathtub gin drink, delicious and comes in a bathtub with a rubber duck Smoked old fashioned - I didnt try but looked and smelled delicious Dom- always a good idea It's very cute inside too and really feels like an old fashioned speakeasy. We were in town from Miami and my fiancé was wearing shorts that were technically out of dress code and when we explained they were super accommodating and were able to give us a great experience. Would 100% become regulars here if we lived in Orlando. I wish I could remember the server/hosts names but they were amazing also!! read more

Busy but not crazy. Happy Hour specials are good. This is not a FUN atmosphere more a relaxing atmosphere

I park at the plaza but there is also a garage across the public library you can use. Both similar walking distance

A password is not needed to get into Mather's Social Gathering. However, I recommend making sure your attire is appropriate. Sneakers and sports caps are not permitted. Casual, business casual, dressed up is ok.
