Hanson's Shoe Repair is one of downtown Orlando's most unique cocktail experiences. Getting the daily password and entering the hidden bar immediately sets the speakeasy mood. Inside, the low ceilings, exposed brick and vintage details make the space feel intimate and full of history--fitting since it's inside one of downtown's oldest buildings. The Old Fashioned was expertly made, spirit-forward and perfectly balanced. The bartenders take their time with every drink and clearly know their craft. The small rooftop patio is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and escape the noise of Pine Street below. An excellent date-night spot, but arrive early because seating is limited.

My girlfriend recommended we check this spot out for some fun late-night drinks. She told me it was a speakeasy that used to look like a shoe repair shop from the outside. Apparently, they decided to remove that concept and replace it with a more standard bar front -- which is kind of boring. I feel like they could have kept both for the full effect. We headed upstairs where the real bar is, and it was definitely busy. It's a tighter space, especially since the outdoor area is currently under construction. We waited about 15-20 minutes before being let in. Once inside, it's very close quarters. We managed to grab a two-top and ordered cocktails from the bartender. The drinks were pretty good. If you're unsure what to get or want something experimental, the bartender will ask plenty of questions to tailor a drink to your taste. If that's not your thing, there's a standard menu to choose from. Or, when in Rome -- let them surprise you with something unique. The drink prices definitely reflect the atmosphere. Overall, it was a fun stop -- but for us, it was a one-and-done before heading to the next bar.

I found this spot last April when visiting and couldn't wait to get back to it! The Hard to Find is one of my favorite cocktails ... dare I say ... ever! It's so cozy and warm (okay, not literally because the AC was blowing crazy this past weekend that I had to move around before I could find a place it wasn't in my face). Sad the patio was under construction but it'll be better than ever soon enough. Great service and drinks are crafted with intention

What a great spot located in one of the oldest buildings in Downtown Orlando. They've done a great job with the classic speakeasy atmosphere...make sure you call to get the password if you don't have instachat. The drinks are all fantastic, probably the best in Florida! You can't go wrong with any of them. The patio just reopened, but the bar is where it's at!

I really like the concept, but maybe not the execution. So, there is no signage. Luckily there was a doorman who saw us looking quite lost. Have your ID handy. When you enter there is a bar downstairs and the speak easily is upstairs. You need a code to get in and they change it daily. You can find the code on their Instagram page in the story. You must walk past the bar, up the red stairs and to the right. There is a waiting area and a hostess. Once you give her the secret password she will walk you up to the bar on the 3rd floor. There is inside and outside seating in theis area. We sat inside. Really liked the craft cocktails and yiu can order off menu and they will even make you a drink according to your flavor profile. Didn't really like the music. I was hoping for like jazz music or old time. Instead the was Quiet Riot or Kiss or one of those heavy metal bands. Feel like the music ruined the vibe.

This it drink will get you right.

This drinks are strong. Ambiance is great for a first date or a quiet night with a friend. Service was great and they are super nice

We came to an incredible speakeasy bar. You need to call them for the daily password and it may help to rsvp before you go. These drinks are amazing. If you can't have alcohol, they could also make amazing mock tails.. the vibe here is very into the theme and very intimate. The staff were amazing people and very accommodating. To sum it up, I will come back to this bar again. We paid for parking about a block away. I think it's the same building for the movie theater across the street.

What a fantastic experience! The little hidden area upstairs made it so fun. When you enter, you are in a downstairs bar, but if you head up the stairs there's a couch and some bookshelves. Have a seat on the couch and wait for someone to open the locked black door. They will ask you for the secret word of the day. If you know it, then they will take you upstairs to the private speakeasy. It has an inside and an outside area and craft cocktail bartenders that can whip up anything you can dream of.

I always want a speakeasy with some serious charm, Hanson's Shoe Repair is my spot in Orlando. First off, you'll need a password to get in, which makes the whole thing feel extra cool from the start. Once inside, the vibe is just right. The bar is backlit, and all the spirits glow like little jewels. It's honestly gorgeous. They've got real candlelight too. If you can snag a spot on the small patio, do it. It's cozy but perfect for chilling out with a drink in hand.

Hidden gem in downtown Orlando! If i can give more starts I would. This speakeasy is absolutely amazing. Love their relaxing vibes and decorations. Decorated with old brick walls and low lightning it is the perfect place to have one of their authentic cocktails. This gem is located at the second floor of the Henson's building on Pine Street. As you walk to the second floor you knock the door and provide their daily password to come in. Passwords can be found daily on their instagram stories or by calling their phone number. When door is open you can either sit inside or outside on the patio and enjoy their unique craft drinks. My favorite so far is to hard to find coffee, dessert luxurious cocktail. I have already been two times and I cann't wait to come back and try other delicious cocktail. Service is fabolous, staff is so friendly and helpful. Gratuity is already included on the check.

Amazing speakeasy Love the vibes, service and drinks Any cocktail costs $15 Make sure to get the passcode on their instagram page

My favorite speakeasy downtown. If you get in right away you're in luck, but if there is a wait they always keep you informed and let you know you can also bring a drink from the downstairs bar while you wait. Once you go up the stairs to the Shoe Repair this is a wonderful experience from the moment you step in there to you last moments hanging out at the rooftop. The drinks are delicious and my current favorite would be the "hard to find" I hope this never goes away from the menu

Alright, I will start with the positives of this speaksy bar. I appreciate the effort for decor, and lighting. From the minute you arrive, it feels like you're being transported to a bootleg bar with a hipster feel to it and modern twist. There had to be over 50 candles strategically placed and I loved the glowy dew it set. A romantic setting for a date. No food, gratuity included, passwords are posted daily on their Instagram, parties of 6 is the max, and a minimum of 1 drink per person. (Also limited seating) That being said, I thought it would be a fun unique spot to grab a drink with some girls for a girls night, but I will leave it off the list next time. Of course being a Speaksy, I was already expecting space to be limited so that wasn't a surprise. The problem begins with the service of ordering drinks. When we were seated, it was on the patio and the host gives us the menu and makes it pretty obvious that we can review the menu and place a drink order with him when ready. After about 15 mins. 2 other tables sat down after us and they received their drinks and we were just confused. So a couple of us (3 out of 5 in the group) go to the bar to place an order. I think at least 1 server could be on the patio delivering drinks because I noticed the bartenders are making the drinks and delivering them. I noticed another guest asked how the drink process worked, so it isn't very clear upon arrival. From my photos timestamps, here's the estimated wait times: Sat down at the table: 8:41pm Ordered at the bar: 8:58pm Drinks arrived: 9:22pm When the drinks finally arrived, they were small cocktails that were $15 + gratuity. Honestly, I'm not a big drinker and usually drink only a couple times a year for celebrations but the drinks were not worth the wait. I would recommend this spot if you're going on a date and want a unique experience, and are willing to patiently wait for a craft cocktail that you might not be too impressed with. Mathers Social Gathering is a better alternative for a larger group and in my experience, faster service. Also the seats at Hanson were VERY uncomfortable. Just Iron patio chairs for the outside area. Our legs went numb after our long wait for drinks.
