Very late delivery. Way beyond the promised time. I had sold my old furniture and had to live on the floor for 2 weeks or so. The company or sales associates never made an attempt to intimate me of the delays. I had to repeatedly follow and finally got the item delivered. In one instance the person over the phone gave a direct suggestion to me that I can cancel my order :). I have been a faithful customer of Mathis Brothers for over 20years but have been so disappointed in them this past few days. I bought a new Lady American Heather Queen mattress set from this store in December 2016 with a 10yr warranty and we have not had this mattress for more than 6 months and it is already dipping more than 1" and they refuse to replace it. My 23yr old daughter has not had one good night of sleep since we purchased it....and suffers with back pain. I am going to try and go directly to the manufacturer to resolve this problem but I will no longer shop at this store. Do not buy from this store as they do not stand by the 10 year warranty! Update: the store sent a technician out to measure and it was at 1" but said it had to be past 1" which is not what we were told. The mattress isn't any better. read more

My shopping experience here was terrible. I walked in by myself and right off the bat I was completely ignored. I was in gym clothes and no bothered looking my way. I ended having to pull the tags of the pieces I wanted to purchase and taking them to the cashier myself. The cashier called over a salesman to "help" me with my transaction, and even that turned into a headache. They had problems with the sku and prices if the pieces despite me bringing the tags with me. I'd have to say the only good experience I had was with the kid who helped load my furniture. read more

My husband has been on the hunt for new couches for months. He was sold on leather couches and did not want anything but that. We went to about 5 or 6 different furniture places and were impressed on the wide selection Mathis Brothers offers. Their store is huge and can be a bit overwhelming. But if you know what you want and what you are looking for, shopping can be a breeze. Upon arriving we made our way to the couches section. Within 15 minutes we were greeted by salesman Ray Santos. He was knowledgeable, friendly and wasn't too pushy to make a sale. We ended up purchasing the couches, end tables and a kitchen table. The finance department was quick. She asked when we wanted to schedule our delivery and we asked for a Sunday delivery. They gave us a 5 hour time frame for when the merchandise will be delivered and it was from 4pm-9pm on Sunday. I received a call about a quarter till 7 that they delivery was 15 minutes away. The delivery guys were awesome. They asked where I wanted my furniture and assembled everything. They were in and out of the house within 20 minutes and the furniture looks perfect. Overall our experience with Mathis Brothers was a pleasant one. If you're looking for anything be sure to ask for Ray Santos, he will take care of you. read more

Wasn't happy with the service. I felt like the sale was the most important act. We were told our furniture would arrive in a week, to expect a call to set up delivery. After we didn't receive a call we called in to check two weeks later and were told it would be in in three days, expect a call. Again no call. We were promised our furniture on Saturday, May 28. We called the night before to schedule a delivery time and it was during that call that we were told it would be yet another week. They do not honor their warranty plans - never buy the warranty they try to sell you. They send you to deal with the warranty plan as a separate entity, they come and do these inspections and try to find any cosmetic flaws they can (which are small and of no concern to you) as an excuse not to warranty the entire item that has damage that is covered by the warranty. I had nail polish that got on my couch, I spent hundred on the warranty, and they wouldn't even get rid of the nail polish because there was other oil type spots that I should have called in for as they happened.... I wasn't asking for them to fix those spots, they were minor - but they wouldn't cover the nail polish. Complete scam. If I were you I would go to an honest furniture sales center that stands behind their warranty and doesn't subcontract it out. read more

I went to the store with my parents on a Sunday and brought a dining set, the sales rep Tony seemed friendly and everything was going well. It was a 7 piece dining set for about $450. It was a great deal.The following Saturday, my father drove an hour to go pick up my dining set. My father waiting for an hour and they stated it was a custom order and that it hadn't arrived yet. My father asked for the sales rep and Tony came and told my father that the whole shipment was covered in mold and that they wouldn't be able to honor the sale. My father drove an hour back home empty handed and told me what had happened. The order was mine and under my name but I had not been contacted. I called the main store number and spoke to a staff member who didn't bother to ask for my order number but told me my order would be in November 7th. Something didn't feel right so I asked to speak to a manager. I was on hold for about 15 minutes when I was placed off hold I spoke to a manager named Jason who gave me the same story that the whole shipment was covered in mold and that all of the orders for that dining set had been declined. He didn't seem concerned with the dishonesty or the fact that no one had bothered to call me to let me know my order would have to be cancelled or the fact that my father made the hour long trip to the store for no reason. He offered to make things right by price matching another dining set as long as they were within the same price range which didn't really feel like it was doing anything special. I also didn't feel comfortable doing business with them after so much dishonesty. read more

Had a good shopping experience but that's where it ended. Delivery was incorrect and rather than fixing it in a quick manner I was told I had to wait and could not confirm delivery time. I told him it was their mistake and they needed to fix it but it didn't do anything. I was told the scheduling was by the computer and nothing could be done. We had a wonderful experience shopping for our new furniture at Mathis Bros. We were greeted by Abby Vera while we were browsing the store. When we told her that this was our first venture out to look for new living room furniture, she listened to our ideas, made some suggestions, and left us with her phone number and card so we could continue browsing the beautiful store. When we called her (from in the store), Abby returned very quickly to meet with us again. We talked about and showed her some items we liked, she asked great questions about our life style and and tastes in furniture. We then made an appointment for Abby to come out to the house. She took measurements and pictures of features in the house. (Since we were just moving in, the room was empty) On our second appointed visit to the store, Abby had diagrams of our room and samples on fabrics to choose from. We looked at couches, and chairs, chose fabric, and then looked for a sofa table to go with these. Finally, she took us to the rug department. I am beyond frustrated with this company. I purchased my couch at the beginning of the year. I was also told because I was customizing it that the chances of it coming early were very high. My initial sales guy was Bruce Lee, he was great. Over the last few months he's been in touch and his customer service has been excellent. But here we are in July, Still no couch. I've called numerous Times for updates. My update is always like yes within the next two weeks within the next two weeks within the next two weeks. My sales guy had called me to let me know that he was going to be out for a while. And told me his manager would be in touch with me. I received a text message from an Adaline, she was very unhelpful and seemed rude and bothered that I was asking questions, this was in June. I have since messaged to see if I can get an update and I get no response from her. Not surprised I sure she could care less because it wasn't her sale or commission. Nevertheless I've called the store and asked for updates myself. I was told last week that it looks like my ETA is this week. So I took it upon myself to call today to see what our estimate was looking like, and now I'm told it looks like another two weeks or so. Maybe by the end of the month, maybe. I understand that Covid has been an issue, but I think these people are now just using it as an excuse. Every other furniture company no longer has any issues, just them. It makes it extremely frustrating that I can go into any other furniture store and find furniture and couches available same or next day delivery. Today was the first time in Mathis Brothers furniture store, & I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I have to admit my first impression when I first walked in the door was, wow, all these sales people, I hope this experience isn't going to be like going to buy a new car, & you first walk up and ten sales people start attacking you & start pressuring you to buy a car (I don't like being pressured to do things). Enter the equation, my man Dontae, he was the perfect type of sales person for me. He seen that we were looking at Sectionals & asked did we have anything in mind, & I showed him a couple of pics that I had taken from there website. He took us directly to see them, explained everything about them, i.e. the warranty, the protection plan etc. It's funny, by the time we walked around the store for a couple hours it felt like I had gained a family member, lol. He didn't pressure us not once & I appreciate that. When it came time to talk cost, he explained everything in Layman's terms, financing plan shipping etc. I told him up front I wasn't going to make a purchase today, & that I'm the type of person that does the research before buying, & he seemed to welcome that, he just reiterated, that when I was ready, to not hesitate to call him.. He could have left us & looked for other customers, but he took the time to show us everything we wanted to see, up stairs & downstairs. I asked what the bottom line was on the sectional & he went printed up a quote, he even took it one step further & confirmed everything with his Manager Scott, which I wanted to meet just to tell him how satisfied I was & how much we all appreciated Dontaes as a sales person & the way he handled himself. We all enjoyed our conversation with Scott as well, just the background he gave us on Mathis Brothers. I will be making a purchase with Dontae within the next few weeks(when our new house closes escrow). All future purchases will also be with him, & we will definitely refer him to all our friends & family. Purchased a bedroom set today for my 23 year old son and was assisted by Charles Smith. Charles was fabulous!
