We finally gave it away for FREE and that was a chore because even though free people cringed when they saw the peeling ...it was disgusting. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MATHIS BROS. Customer service on the day we bought our couch was great. We ordered our couch July 16, and were told it would be a few weeks to get it since it's custom. We got our lazy boy delivered Mid Aug. To our surprise they gave us 2 Left ends. On top of that one of the motorized units didn't work (I checked all the connections) its just not working. After a group of calls and having to call the store, we are told conflicting information about the working piece is going to be picked up not the bad one. The call to the store manager finally we're told that the correct piece is going to be made or has been in the works, but this time will take over 2 1/2 months to get it. Which either tells me: we weren't priority in their system....or the order wasn't placed until after several calls and finally speaking to the store manager on 9/23. Still waiting but at this point we are done. Customer service has not been great to my wife (furniture privacy laws are on par with HIPPA laws apparently), also we have a non working incorrect half of furniture. I get its the wrong piece but not even an offer to fix it in the meantime would've been the bare minimum. That's been our experience. 11/01/2025 Mathis delivery came by and low and behold its the wrong piece of the couch. read more

If anything goes wrong on day 8, "that's your problem" as we were told by their customer service." Bought a nearly $1,000 electric recliner only for the mechanism to stop working after a couple of weeks. Called Customer service who was pretty useless in solving the problem. Spent a long time searching for sheets. My search stopped here. After a daunting task of looking for sheets that have the potential to fit a Tempurpedic mattress without paying a hefty price for Tempurpedic sheets, I found them here. I looked high and low in IE and didn't want to purchase online without looking at the color first and feeling the quality before buying, so I took a chance on a furniture store. To my surprise, they sold sheets. In today's world, where online shopping has taken over yesterday's in store shopping in a brick and mortar building, I don't experience enough excellent customer service but when I do, I like to acknowledge it. This is a crucial element that builds an everlasting relationship between the consumer and the business. Manny and Hayley were awesome! From the start of my experience u til the end, I can't thank these two enough. Manny took the time to make sure I was taken care of from the moment I walked in. Exemplifying what customer service is, he understood and assessed what I was looking for right away. Showing me a variety of sheets, I quickly learned that my search was gonna stop here but not only would I walk out with new sheets, but would have options. Manny made sure I was taken care of even when there was a glitch in the computer inventory. Confidently, I was happy that I was gonna have a good night's rest. Nothing like a fitted sheet not fitting. Sleepless nights are over because of this purchase. Hayley processed the transaction at the end. Retrieving my item at the end, she went above and beyond by checking the stock that the computer listed wrong and checked other stocked sheets that weren't linked to correct skew. Her patience to check and process my transaction by picking up item was perfect. Honestly, had she not double checked, I would've had to do a return and then walk away empty handed. I can't tell the gratitude I have for something that means small to someone. Hayley's and Manny's patience and customer service was great. No complaints. I have called to file two claims for stains (I have 3 kids) and they seem to make every excuse under the sun to not come out. We paid extra for this service and they refuse to provide the service I was promised at the time of purchase. Full on scam. I would not have purchased two white couches as a family of 5 if they didn't assure me that accidental stains were covered. I truly want a refund on the protection plan asap. read more

We had a great experience at Mathis Home Ontario. As soon as we walked in the showroom we were greeted by Raul Santamaria. We explained what we were looking for and he showed us the various options. We liked that he wasn't pushy, gave us time to ourselves, then came back to check on us and discuss options. From there he took us to other options with no pressure, but showed us a lovely option which was on sale. After visiting four stores we went back and bought the upgraded sofa and loveseat the Raul showed us. Also, we asked if it could be delivered before Thanksgiving and he made our wish come true! We love our new sofa and loveseat! It is super lush and comfortable and all the mechanisms work perfectly. It is a wonderful refresh for our family room. Best of all we got out at a great sale price!! The delivery process was easy and handled very professionally. They set everything up, made sure it worked properly to my satisfaction, then cleaned and disposed of all trash. We ordered two recliners which were supposed to be delivered in 6 to 8 weeks. To avoid having to give up 40% of my deposit we were at their mercy. Six months of having been lied to every month by every manager from Ontario, CA. to their headquarters in Oklahoma City. We finally got our recliners six months from the day we signed and put a 40% deposit. The second day we had them. One of them quit working. I called customer service and was told someone would get back to me later that day or early the next day. We're at two weeks and no one or repair part has shown op. Never again Mathis!​ read more

This is one of THE WORST places to buy furniture from, I will never buy from here again. We have given them many chances and every time we buy from them something ends up terribly wrong. Delivery is always a complete disaster. They have delivered our items to the complete wrong address and dropped it off with somebody that tried to take our furniture. We had a kids bunk bed delivered and the bed was put together improperly by the delivery team, endangering our children. The turnover at the store is so bad that the employees are often new and have no clue what they are doing. We had a new employee "schedule" our delivery for a day but they never showed up because the employee only hit "estimate" instead of schedule delivery. If I could give zero stars I would this was by far the worst experience I've had shopping for furniture. I placed two special orders totaling over $10,000 they were both price matched against another company and approved and a deposit was made. Three weeks later, one of the orders was canceled by the store because they did not want to honor the price. Dont understand how as I signed a contract and left a deposit, but they still canceled it The other special order was scheduled for a Friday delivery I took Off of work to wait for this delivery when I called in the morning to confirm the window of delivery I was told that there was no delivery scheduled for me and I would need to talk to an associate. When I called There was nothing they could do for me other than rescheduled the delivery and Could care less that I took the day off of work And could care less that I've been getting the runaround since the beginning. I tried to cancel everything but was told it's a special order I would be charged 40% restocking, Mind you, they were able to cancel a special order that I signed a contract for with no penalty. Unbelievable. Not only did this location refuse to honor the protection plan that was included in my purchase of an area rug, but they refuse my warranty claim on top of that. When purchasing, I specifically asked about pet damage being included under the protection plan, I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem. Little did I know that when it came time to honor that promise, they would reroute me to ProtectAll, who flat out refused to even consider me! Absolutely terrible business practices.. came in 8/1 to buy a couch.. ($3498) salesman was trying to make a sale.. I said "$3400 out the door" He sent a text to his manager asking and his manager Damian o'conner sends back a text with a thumbs up. My sales rep rang me up for $3400, said delivery was this coming Friday. 2 days later (8/3) they call me asking for more money... For such a large business to renege on an AGREED price that I was ALREADY charged with days prior is an absolute joke. If there was a mistake, it should have been handled internally especially for such a low dollar amount discount. They eventually refunded me instead of making it right. On top of that they held $139 for a "membership fee" that I never agreed to. This has led to a massive waste of time (far more of a waste of time than the minuscule "discount" they originally agreed to). I would not give this business a time of day there are plenty of other furniture stores with lower prices that will not play this bait and switch game on you. read more

Think twice before shopping at Mathis Brothers. My wife and I recently purchased a bedroom set from the Ontario location and spent over $15,000 expecting high‑quality furniture and a smooth experience. What we received was the opposite. When the furniture arrived, several drawers on the nightstand and dresser didn't function properly. Instead of delivering products that were inspected and ready to use, Mathis Brothers required us to schedule a technician -- and here's the catch: they only allow returns within seven days, yet their technicians rotate weekly and couldn't come until after that window closed. We were essentially stuck with defective furniture before anyone even looked at it. For a company that prides itself on quality, customers shouldn't have to take time off work and wait weeks just to find out whether their brand‑new furniture can even be fixed. To make matters worse, the billing process has been just as frustrating. We discovered we're now making two separate monthly payments -- one on the line of credit opened at Mathis Brothers and another on our credit card. We returned several items and were told by Brandon Dearmas that the refund would go back to our credit card. We even received an updated invoice confirming this. Instead, the refund was applied to the line of credit without our knowledge or consent. After spending this much money, the experience has been nothing but disappointing -- from the quality control to the customer service to the mishandling of our refund. I purchased this sofa only nine months ago, and it's rarely used--yet the ottoman cushions have already separated, creating a sag in the middle. Another cushion sinks the moment you sit on it. For the price I paid, this level of deterioration is completely unacceptable. What makes this even worse is the customer service experience. I scheduled an appointment weeks ago and arranged my entire day around the technician's visit. I even called to confirm the 1-4 PM window and was told the technician would arrive closer to 3:45 or 4. After staying home all day, I received a call at 3:30 canceling the appointment due to "car issues." I took time off work for this appointment. I waited weeks for this appointment. My husband and I recently stopped into this store to see what they offered to furnish our new home. We did not have plans of buying furniture from Mathis but we experienced such wonderful customer service, we ended up buying a sofa and 2 chairs. While the store has a large selection and is well staffed, what stood out the most is the help provided by one of the employees, Juan. Juan got to know us and made us feel comfortable while we looked around, he never pressured us. We picked out our sofa pretty quickly but struggled to decide on accent chairs to match. Juan was so helpful, he even went so far as to pick up various chairs from across the store and carry them himself so we could see if they matched our couch. He had a great attitude and even gave us his personal number to be sure everything was delivered and to our liking. When I came back to pick up our last item from the store, he made life easy for me by meeting me at the front and even loading the chair into my car himself. I cannot recommend him enough, he absolutely made our shopping experience both easy and enjoyable. read more

Initially, the buying process seemed smooth, but that quickly turned into a nightmare of poor communication and being outright ignored. I placed a custom order and, when the promised 8-week turnaround arrived, I called to check on the status. To my surprise, I was informed of a factory mishap that would delay my order by another 8-10 weeks. Why didn't anyone notify me about this? Had I known, I could have come in to change my order! Despite my frustration, I decided to wait since I really liked the couch set and was already invested. The furniture eventually showed up about 6 weeks later, which was a relief. However, I soon discovered that the "chair and a half" footstool I ordered was replaced with a 40x40 ottoman that I never asked for. Thankfully, I had a video of my order showing exactly what I wanted. When I called customer service to rectify the mistake, the experience just got worse. After being transferred to sales management, I was put on hold multiple times, only to be sent back to customer service. This back-and-forth continued for over an hour without any resolution. After finally reaching a manager, I was told the stool could be reordered but would take another 8 weeks. At this point, I was done waiting. I requested a return for the ottoman, which was too large for my space, and was assured that I would receive a call with further instructions. Fast forward to the next day--no call. I reached out to my sales rep, Junior, for the third time, and he promised to get back to me but never did. Now, a week has passed with no progress on my return. Living two hours from the store, I'm left with no choice but to drag the unwanted ottoman back myself this weekend to get my $600 refund. I strongly advise spending your money elsewhere. There are plenty of mom-and-pop shops that can provide the same designs at better prices and with far better customer service. I normally don't do this, but it definitely felt necessary. I walked in and several sales representatives walked around me numerous times. They would deliberately walk past me as I'm shopping alone to assist other people. I walked the entire store both levels, and no one ever asked me once did I need assistance or even a hello. Mind you, there were several people working both floors at the time and it was not busy whatsoever. They were either gathering with one another or simply just walking around me. The store itself seems larger than Costco so offering assistance should be common knowledge. Very rude will not be returning, and I was definitely ready and willing to purchase items. read more

I'm going to keep this as short as possible. My wife and I went in on May 26 (Memorial Day) to shop for some living room furniture. We were met by Jorge and he showed us around the store. We picked out a sofa and recliner. While the sofa was in stock, the recliner was not. Jorge stated it would be delivered in 2 weeks, June 6. I go to pay for the items and the cashier advises the recliner is unavailable and gives me a date in July. I immediately advise her that is not what Jorge told us and to call him. He comes to the cashier and he tells her to pull the item from the Indio store, once again confirming the June 6 delivery date. June 6 comes and nothing. We wait another week and still nothing. My wife contacts Jorge and advises him. He says another 2 weeks. We wait, nothing. My wife has to contact him again and Jorge says he will notify his manager of the issue (manager is Patrick) and check on the order. We don't hear back from Jorge or Patrick. On June 29 (over a month since we purchased) I go into the store and ask to speak to a manager. I was met with Deepak (I believe that it is his name and I'm probably speaking it wrong). I tell him of our issue, he says he will call me in 2-3 days with an update and notify Patrick. It's July 5, I haven't heard from anyone at Mathis Brothers. Best part is they sold me a membership, so here I am paying for a membership with no furniture. I should've read the yelp reviews prior to coming here. read more

Update to my original review: I feel even more strongly now that you should shop here less, not more. After I posted my review, someone suddenly reached out and agreed to pick up the two rug pads and issue a refund. The customer service rep told us that once the pads were picked up, the refund would be processed within 5-7 business days. When the driver arrived, he had no idea what he was there for. His paperwork actually said "deliver 0 rug pads", not pick any up. My wife had to insist that he note on the paperwork that he picked up two rug pads. We waited over 10 business days (including the holiday), and no refund was issued. My wife called again, and they casually responded, "Oh, you want the refund?" -- and then told us it would take another 5-7 business days. Are you serious? We're also supposedly sitting on 40,000+ reward points, but I'd rather let them expire than ever shop here again. We never received the promised gift card either -- not that we'd use it anyway. Hands down, this has been the worst customer service experience I've ever had. read more

I asked her 1/2 a dozen times, in the event this item goes on sale for Labor Day, will the store price match and her response was YES ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT. Guess what, that item is now on sale and they have a million excuses why they cannot price match the item that we won't receive until END OF OCTOBER.
