This is a follow up on Mathis Brothers responding to my earlier review. I purchased a mattress from them, The Intelabed which is not cheap and should be a top quality mattress you would think. What they showed me in the showroom is defiantly different from what was delivered in the way of firmness (night and Day). The 25 year warranty is only good (according to them) for bed sag. After 7 months The mattress already has bed sag, What I call a hole you roll into. But not the 1 & 1/2 inch depression the warranty requires. I have never had a bed sag at all in the first couple years of ownership so that's what I get for buying a $5,000. plus bed. When they respond on here its just to make you think they care, once you respond you go back into their black hole of do nothing. read more

As soon as I walked into this huge facility, a gentleman by the name of James Hicks greeted me professionally and politely. He asked me was in particular I was looking for and I shared with him which room I wanted to furnish. He escorted me to a very knowledgeable designer by the name of Chrissy Esposito. They both made me very comfortable and spent quality time with me. Chrissy showed me a variety of options for my living room and explained in detail. When it comes to interior design , I am completely clueless. Chrissy gained my confidence and I'm going to follow her lead with just a hint of my liking. Mathis brother has the worst customer service from the furniture industry, I order my furniture on 9/4, I waited almost 4 months , 20 phone calls and had Ontario manager Shaun rudely hanged up on...anyway I got my sofa delivered on 12/22, within days, we felt small needle poking on our skin, it turns out doze feathers poking out from the sofa, the longer you seat the more the poking out. I called Mathis, Madeline said she can schedule a service pick up. I called back today, I was told by Saian it will takes 4-5 weeks ( actual time two months) fix the sofas, I asked for two requested: 1) quality and workmanship warranty for my new furniture , Saian said not, Mathis don't stand by their products, Mathis has many vendors work for them, mathis don't know what defect furnitures vendor will provided ( that's her exact words). At this point, I feel like deal with gangsters... 2) if they pick up my sofas to fix it, I requested temporary furnitures for replacement, Saian said no, Mathis doesn't have such service, so our family supposed seat on the floor for another month?? Are we being punish for order sofa from Mathis? I was not aware my sofas made with feathers, I thought they make with foam like in the showroom, I feel totally being cheated !!! You're looking for a quality assistance search at AJ with the red hair and beard, very knowledgeable and all the selections was able to answer our questions and most importantly was incredibly patient while we were making our selections. what I thought was going to be a great experience turned into a nightmare. I purchased 2 bunk beds for my kids. The good thing the sales associate was super helpful and delivery was in 2 days, then it all went downhill from there. Upon delivery, the guys came wearing masks, but then they had difficulty carrying the pieces of furniture up the stairs so they removed their masks, huffing and puffing, sweating. Upon "assembling" my son's bunk bed they completely forgot the bottom bunk's slats. It took me 4 days of calling every single day, including with the sales associate who made us the sale assisting in getting it resolved. Finally, I had to go pick up the slats from the warehouse myself. They gave me the run around and finally we got the slats. NOPE!! They gave us the wrong size slats!!! Back to the warehouse, and even after MORE calls to/from customer service "managers" still issues with obtaining the correct size slats. Off to return the wrong size and pick up the correct size slats. I put them down and WTF they don't fit. Calls again. Well, turns out it's the right size slats, the assembly of the bottom bunk bed frame was WRONG!!! the delivery guys who were "technicians" assembled the bed INCORRECTLY!!! on top of that, they stripped all the screws!! I can't even fix the problem myself!! some of the screws even cracked the wood frame!! I would NOT recommend their service to anyone!! No matter what the price! read more

I needed a new mattress and came to Mathis in Ontario after a bad experience with sales and customer service. I was greeted by Hector, who gave the kind of customer service to restore my hope that things might be better this time. He was very polite, asked relevant questions, and provided informative and direct answers for all of the questions I asked. He was patient, focused, gave feedback, and did not push or rush any of the process. I so appreciated that after my previous salesperson experience. And I did find a mattress! I went back a second time to work with Hector on finding a bed to go with the mattress. Same excellent customer service that time as well! Thank you, Hector! Also wanted to note that Hector's manager, the ladies at the front desk, the finance department, and the team delivering my mattress all provided excellent service. I never thought I needed to look at yelp for a furniture store until now! My husband and I go to MB in July, looks like an awesome store. We end up buying a couch- what we went for. It is a custom couch where you pick the colors. It comes in 8-12 weeks. Didn't like the wait, but its custom so why not. Week 8 comes and I call to get up an update, they said the parts are all coming at different times and it will be at the 12 week mark. Okay no problem. My husband gets a call a week later stating all parts are in and can be delivered. Weird but okay great! He schedules delivery for a Thursday. They went to bring the couches in and before they do he stops them and states that is not the color we bought. Delivery drivers know nothing obviously because they just deliver. My husband calls the store. Talks with customer service- went no where. Talks to the manager. The male manager said thats the color you signed off on. My husband asks it doesn't say a color it says a code. We thankfully took a picture of the color of couch and pillows we picked out and it was a dark grey and they gave us a very light grey. The manager said he will need to figure out why this happened and he will give a cal back. No call back. My husband calls a week later maybe and still no idea and waiting for another call back. At this point I go on yelp and see all the one star reviews and said we need to run now as fast as we can away from mathis brothers to avoid a headache. He calls a week later and talks to a female manager. He has also emailed 5 people at the store and no response. He gets ahold of the female manager and states he wants a refund and we don't want the couches if you guys cannot make this right. She needs to get approval and will call back by 7 pm. No call back. He shows up at the store and asks for a refund. He gets the refund. He over heard a staff member telling another manager the company sent the wrong skus on the fabric so we picked out the right color but the sku was wrong so they made the wrong one. The computer who will respond to this- I only need one question answered- Doesn't your staff get tired of all the angry customers? I've never seen more 1 star reviews for a place then this place. I am thankful we didn't go through with the order. I would never recommend MB to anyone looking for furniture. Also the sales staff will stalk you the whole time you are in the store. Our sales rep was great in helping us find the item we wanted. We purchased on Oct 31 with an expected delivery of 12 weeks. After that time passed, we called and found out from a rude customer service agent that it had been delayed 6 more weeks. That time passed and again.... we had to call and check in and were notified of another delay of 6 more weeks. I get that the manufacturers are having delays due to covid, what I don't understand is how nobody bothered to call us and let us know that our $3,000 purchase was going to be delayed for months and months. It makes me feel like once the sale is made, they wrote us off. And to make matters worse , the customer service team was so rude and inconsiderate to our frustrations with the lack of communication both times. We ordered another item from the same manufacturer through Jeromes and they called us both times to notify us of the delays and apologized. Go there. I usually don't write negative reviews but I am so upset with the current situation that my family and I are dealing with. Let me give you the complete picture... The first incident started when we purchased two love seats in February!! We wanted to change the fabric it became a custom order which is normally fulfilled within 8-12 weeks. Well then COVID happened. Totally understandable that it took over the 12 week time frame (it took 15 weeks but again I understand)! Keep in mind that I was not contacted by anyone with an update even when it got past the 12 week mark. Well when they finally came in and got delivered I was given the WRONG item!! The fabric was right but they sent us sofas instead of love seats! I contacted customer service and they placed a new order for the love seats since it was apparently a mess up with the manufacturer (the salesperson did order us loveseats but they made sofas). It wasn't great because we had to wait AGAIN for the 8-12 weeks. And I had to make sure they did not get messed up or anything because if they weren't sent back in new condition I would be charged for them. Keep in mind I did try to decline the order but I was told that because it was custom I HAD to keep them. The loveseats did eventually arrive in less then 8 weeks so that was good. Fast forward to June and my husband and I decided that we liked having the sofas (since we had to keep the mistake sofas) so I went into the store and placed an order for one sofa to match our loveseats. This is when the second problem began!! I spoke with the salesperson and told him that I wanted to order the sofa in the SAME COLOR as the original love seats so that they would match! He said no problem! Well guess what, the sofa came in after waiting 8 weeks AND THE SOFA FABRIC DOESN'T MATCH THE LOVE SEAT!!! I contacted customer service and was told "they have to look into it". I am not really sure what needed looked into because I know what happened; I wanted the matching fabric and the salesperson ordered the wrong one. I have been sitting in the dark for TWO DAYS!!! I contacted them on Sunday, emailed them what they requested and didn't hear back (even though Donna said that she would get back to me THAT DAY). Monday I called when they opened at 10am, I spoke with Maria since Donna wasn't working that day but I need the CORRECT sofa fabric ordered (especially since its takes 8-12 weeks to come in). Maria said that she will "continue to look into it" and she promised that she would call me back that night. I called at 6:30pm (they close at 7pm) because I haven't heard back from ANYONE! I gave my name and phone number and was told she would call back that night. Well its 10pm as I write this review and I didn't receive a call from ANYONE!! I am beyond disappointed with the whole system. I am disappointed with the sales team for failing me and ordering the wrong fabric. I am disappointed with the customer service department because they are not resolving the issue. I am disappointed with the manufacturer because they didn't send the right thing that was ordered. I am frustrated, angry, and feeling like they don't care about their customers. The only thing I am happy with are the delivery guys! They have been to my house 3 times and are great!! They are respectful, professional, clean and helpful! Mathis Brothers needs to get their act together, handle this problem and stop dragging their feet. I hope I can update this review at a later time to show that this problem is resolved but the way I am being treated thus far; I am skeptical. UPDATE 8/25/20: After feeling a little let down: I called the store in Ontario, spoke with Mercedes who asked for yet another photo. I sent that photo via email (although I already sent the same photo to another customer service-oh well). Then 30 minutes later I got a phone call from Justin Lewis-a service manager from their corporate office. He was AMAZING!! He heard my concerns and within 15 minutes of getting of the phone I had a confirmation email that my corrected fabric order has been placed. I will update after its received but for now I am so thankful that the situation seems to be taken care of; fingers crossed!! read more

We have purchased here before and the sales Dept is very helpful. But the delivery process is terrible! Each time we have purchased we have had issues with either the timing of the delivery or the competency of the people delivering. This week we bought a mattress and bed frame/ headboard. They delivered and left but when I checked the bed they hadn't put the frame/headboard together at all. When we called to have them return nobody called us back. We called again today and still waiting for a response. It's time we shop somewhere else. read more

They do not deliver timely. As someone who works in customer service I value good customer service and not being upfront about potential delay of delivery over 2 months is not great service. It's been 2months and still haven't received all the furniture I ordered due to delay with manufacturer. Today I was told the date has been pushed back a 4th time. I understand that they have no control over the manufacturers but had they said the delay could potentially be well over 2 months I personally would've spent my money elsewhere. I think when people go into stores and are told there could be a delay they tend to think maybe a week or two not months. So by not telling customers that the delay could be well over a month prevents people from making informed purchase decisions. read more

We wanted to return for store credit, the item was still in the original box unopened and we got turned down. We bought the one year membership to lower the cost of the overpriced furniture when was presented as something similar with Costco membership just to be stuck with an item we purchased few weeks ago. We needed a couch asap... and found a really good deal on a sectional. Picked it up later that same day & it was loaded by Robert Sharp.. can't say enough great things about him. There were a few ppl ahead of us however while I was waiting, Robert acknowledge us everytime he passed by. Not sure about other ppl but I really dislike when they walk passed you without so much as a hello. B4 he loaded them he asked if it was to climb in the truck & how far we were going. Once loaded he took the time to strap them down & asked if I wanted additional strapping. I said no ty, he secured them. All while with a smile, patient & in great spirits. I have purchased many items & have visited many times however this is my first review bcz of him. He went above & beyond & these days you don't get so much as thanks. The surrounding employees were just as nice & courteous however he was just great. This was about a month or so ago & goes to show great impressions leave a lasting reminder of someone. Fortunately, the associate that helped us, Hector, was on top of everything and very diligent. He was helpful before the sale but was invaluable afterward. Bought over 11K worth of furniture including two powered recliner sofas(3 seater). AND bought a 5 year extended guarantee insurance from Mathis Bros. (Just in case).. Sofas started sagging. Called the customer service # of Mathis Bros, they said call the Insurance company for the extended warranty. Called the insurance co. They said sagging is not insured. Really!! Also, be careful, they will ask questions like CSR: "When did you notice the sagging'? I said "in the last month or so, " CSR " Claim is only valid if you call us within 5 days of noticing the defect" CLAIM DECLINED They have 10 ways before Sunday to decline your claim. Called Mathis Bros again that Insurance company does not want to deal with the claim and they said.... we cannot do anything, as it was insured by another company. I said "BUT YOU SOLD THE INSURANCE TO ME". All they said is that I should call the insurance company and "You have be more persistent with the insurance company. You have to ask that you speak with the Manager". I even suggested that THEY should take the claim up with the insurance company and the CSR said no they won't do it. Mathis bros does not want to deal with you after you buy and walk out of the store. LESSON: Don't buy unless you want headaches or you have extra $11K sitting around. read more

After our furniture was delivered we noticed a crack in the glass of the china cabinet. I contacted Kevin via text with pictures of the damage and he immediately called me back. He worked with the customer service department to get us a quick replacements and two days later a new one was delivered. Bought a couch April 23, paid cash for it. It was out of stock, but we were assured numerous times that it would be in stock May 3rd and we'd be called. I called May 2nd just to check, and was told it wouldnt be in until the end of May, I left numerous messages with our salesperson, he never called back. Fast forward to the end of the month, I called and asked about my couch, I was told some of it was in, but the rest of it will be in June 14. Don't buy furniture warranty through Mathis brothers. I bought warranty that covers stains and accidents and now tri company furniture (the cleaning company that Mathis is associated with) says because there is more than one stain - they don't want to cover my furniture. I called mathis brothers and they said they don't involved between customer and warranty company. Mathis just does a great job at convincing their customers to buy the warranty but doesn't support their customers when their customers really need them. read more
