We have had a very nice experience at Mathis Home. Customer service has been great all around from the show room staff to the delivery crew. One person in particular has been extremely helpful and that is Vish. Vish has been very kind, resourceful and is extremely knowledgeable. Further to that, we have probably visited the show room many times in the last 2 months and he has made sure to be available to help each of those times. He's spent countless hours assisting us and has made furnishing our new home very easy. I am so disappointed in this company, I Purchased a premium protection plan asking multiple times if it covered the exact issue I have at hand and said I wasn't purchasing the sets without this in the plan, I called and made a claim and they told me it has never been covered and they refused to take a piece back when it was delivered (they also told me they could do that) Nothing but lies and bait and switch, will never do business with this shady company again. read more

This was used to be a good store but now it is a scam. Items on their clearance can not be exchanged, that is fine you might think, but they are also not under any warranty. So if they are damaged or break, that is not covered. The sofa was brand new, over 2000$ and never used, but it is our fault to by a clearance item. What did we think? Customer service or common sense is definitely not their thing. I regret not reading the reviews earlier, I just did not think that something like that could happen. I purchased furniture for my entire house from the sales rep, Chrissy, and she is THE WORST. Incredibly rude, unprofessional, and a liar. She mixed up my orders and we were sent the wrong items and then blamed me even though I shared messages with her that clearly show it was an issue on her end. It's very clear she's only working for her commission check, and management did NOTHING to help me. Unfortunately, I've spent thousands of dollars at Mathis and regret every penny. Half of my furniture is not what I ordered and is falling apart after only one year. A month and a half into this ordeal and still no delivery. Dealing with this establishment has been horrible. Terrible customer service, no integrity and no honor. My Wife and I stopped by on Sunday, it was fairly busy but there were a ton of associates just standing around on their iPads or chatting in groups. When we walked in we were greeted and when we asked about couches we were pointed in a general direction and given no assistance. We had visited previous furniture stores so we had an idea of what we were looking for but none of their products had anything but a price tag. There was no information on measurements, configurations, color availability, fabrics. Nothing. Associates would walk by and say hello but no one stopped to help or ask if we needed help. I was ready to leave because I noticed my wife and I were some of the youngest people there, and we were a bit under dressed compared to everyone else. But my wife is pregnant and she wants to wear comfortable clothing, and I unfortunately have a baby face and even though I'm 34YO I look like an 18-22YO, if not younger. My wife convinced me to stay and we would just look around some more. Finally I got fed up and when an associate walked by I asked her for assistance. She was pleasant but my wife and I just felt like we were bothering her, she gave us quick answers and constantly just walk away but my wife would pull her back with more questions. She was showing us their cheapest couches even though my wife specified we were looking for comfortable couches, we didn't have a budget, as in we were willing to spend what we needed to get it and specified we were paying in full. Even still she didn't try to show us what we were looking for just showed us the basics and so we left. We had bought furniture here years ago, a dinning room table two end tables and a coffee table, and we weren't treated so poorly, maybe because we had my mother in law at the time? I couldn't tell you but I will say the lady who was wearing the fake fur coat was definitely having better luck than us as there was 3 people helping her. I used to shop here quite often, somehow the customer service has gone down. I ordered a couch and was told it would be in stock and it could be delivered within 2-3 days. Then almost before check out I was told that now it would take 2 weeks. Went ahead and placed the order. Then I found the SAME couch for $500 cheaper at another store. Within 12 hours I called and cancelled the order and was told my payment (paid 2300 in full) would be refunded in about 5 business days. Today I called to check to see why my money has not been refunded and was told that the customer service representative did NOT cancel my order and that it is over the time to cancel. Currently awaiting higher management to see if my problem can be resolved. Will NOT be returning. Oh and they state you get free delivery for being a rewards member but that's just for them to drop it off at the door. If you want someone to set it up like any other normal furniture store you have to pay an extra couple hundred dollars. read more

Honestly didn't expect to find anything I wanted based off looking at the options they had online. However, my husband and I decided to stop by before heading to living spaces and are sooooo happy we did. Lawrence greeted us when we arrived and was just amazing! Initially we had a sense of what we wanted and after seeing the furniture in person we knew we wanted something different. Trust me... furniture in real life is better then ONLINE!!! When we walked in I was a bit nervous that we would get bombarded or stressed by salesmen as if we were at a car dealership. However , Lawrence made us feel no stress, totally listened to our wants, and knew instantly when we were not feeling something. He made our experience so amazing, stress free, and 100% enjoyable. Another great experience at Mathis Bros. We started in the clearance section and received excellent customer service. We then went to the upstairs area where Manny helped us. He was incredibly patient and thorough, included helping us see if there were clearance mattresses matching what we liked. We have been looking at sectionals for over a year. There are so many options across so many brands, when we walked into Mathis we knew we'd finally be able to compare them all in one place. Hector Martinez was so helpful the first day we came in and showed us all of our options. He stayed in communication and was very responsive with questions throughout the week as we weighed our options. We came in a week and a half later to purchase our sectional and he had picked out a mattress on clearance that we had previously loved full price. We feel like we got a great deal, excellent service, and recommended our sister to make her purchase through Hector as well. i went to Mathis Bros for the first time. I love looking for furniture but hate pushy sales people. I had a wonderful experience at Mathis! My sales person Jorge Soria was the best! He stayed close by but wasn't intrusive. He was always ready to answer questions and was extremely helpful! When I took a friend back to the store a few weeks later I specifically asked for Jorge when we arrived and he was extremely helpful to my friend as well. I even ended up buying additional items that day. I had a problem with my delivery because my new couch didn't fit thru the door. I called Jorge and he helped me with options and even inspected my new couch before re-delivery to make sure it was alright since I wouldn't be able to inspect it until my second party mover got it into the house and it would be unwrapped. I was very pleased he did that for me. Jorge even helped me get the removal of my old furniture set up before the new items were delivered. I have never had such a pleasant experience furniture shopping before! if you go to Mathis Bros ask for Jorge SoTia he is an excellent sales person and all around great guy! read more

Today was my second trip to Mathis Bros. I agree with most reviewers that the onslaught of associates eager and ready is daunting and annoying. However, they provide a great selection with awesome prices. Our first trip we purchased bunk beds, nightstand and a chest of drawers for my boys. We couldn't be happier. The quality of the furniture is excellent and we know they are able to use these pieces for years to come. Our second trip was today. We replaced our dining set, media console and living room set. Again items are fantastic quality and the prices are great. I wish Mathis brothers listened to their yelp reviews and toned down their eager associates. Also, at one point today during our visit it did feel as though there was a 1:1 ratio of employees and customers. A bit much, therefore lost a star. read more

OK last time I bought furniture it was from Mathis Brothers over 12 years ago. I now live back in Monrovia. I went to all the local places Either the furniture was too expensive for what it was or was too cheaply made. I heard the angels sing when I walked in the doors of Mathis brother, clearance center. There it was a burgundy, leather power recliner on sale because it was scratched. Oscar, the sales guy wandered by and the hunt was on. I put a hold on the chair. We went to the regular sales area, I found a dresser, dark wood, middle handles. Silver color, velvet barrel chair, like I said, ever since I walked into the store, the angels were singing. Oscar was extremely helpful, not pushy. The actual buying process went really quickly and with ease. They just delivered the dresser and chair in perfect condition. The movers were very polite and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience. If I hit the lotto tonight I'm going back to Mathis brothers happy New Year's, everyone! read more

I bought a sofa and love seat, when I was buying they promised they will deliver in 21 days but Mathis Brother delivered it in 45 days. After we got the delivery the sofa was damage and ripped we called the Mathis brothers the same day to replace the sofa they deliver another sofa in few days it was also damage and ripped. I talked to them again they said the will replace it and it was damage again. The deliver the sofa 5 times every time it was damage and ripped. They ask me to come for hand selection I came and wait almost one hour outside of the costumer service area in very hot weather just for hand selection. I will not buy furniture from them next time bad costumer service not recommended to anyone. I am still waiting for replacement I talked to Paul Kora and almost I talked all people in costumer service I explained all the details every-time to a different person. When I call to ask to speak to a manager they always say he's not in, I ask them to have him call me but they never return my calls. I spent thousands and thousands of dollars buying all of our furniture at Mathis brothers I expect better service from them. I had been looking for a new sofa and loveseat since last summer. 6 years ago, I purchased a leather sofa and loveseat but I wanted to replace the set with a soft fabric type. You are a sales associate Tony Cortez helped me find the perfect set for my home. I was undecided on three different sets but I wanted to find the perfect color. Tony suggested that we take a cushion from each sofa outside to look at the colors in the sunlight. In the sunlight I was able to see the colors and make a decision. He then asked if he could assist us, and we told him we were looking for two lift recliners. He showed us a vast selection. We found one that fit the bill. He researched his inventory which revealed that it had a matching twin! Completed all the paperwork and is being shipped to us this Thursday (3 days). We had picked out a beautiful piece at Mathis Brothers for my new entertainment center. I was super excited to get it. The floor model was broken/damaged and the doors didnt open, so we were told we would be getting a new one. When we ordered the item, it was a dropped item. The sales associate and manager did not tell us it was dropped. Once the item was delivered. We immediately noticed it was the floor model. They tried to pull fast one on us. They must have thought we were idiots, like we wouldn't notice that they dropped off a damaged broken cabinet. We drove down to Mathis to double check and see if it was the floor model and it was. The manager that approved the floor model is the senior manager!! I just dont know if I can ever trust this company again. They offered me a tiny, tiny discount on my next piece. But I dont think I will take it. Im super disappointed. This was a big deal to us. We had bought three pieces from them and they were all supposed to get delivered on the same day. The economy is not great right now and all of our money counts so to think that they could sell us a used damage product at full price was so insulting. read more

HORRIBLE! I would give a zero if I could. Just know if you are considering MB to purchase furniture you need to reconsider immediately. We bought a couch in Sept 22 and had quality issues day one. Took about a 3 weeks to get someone to assist. Our agreement was they would re-send new seat cushions to rectify the issue. Took a couple weeks to receive the WRONG SIZE cushions! Delivery guys didn't care - said I had to call for pick up, which I did. It took TWENTY FOUR days to get an email response.... NO, I am not kidding! I responded to their email within an hour..........that was 9 days ago..... and still no word They hide behind emails - never call direct to have a conversation and they don't offer reasonable solutions. Where do I start?? How about I went into the store in February to order furniture, that was delayed in getting to me until June! I completely understand that COVID has slowed the manufacturing. When we were called and told that our furniture was FINALLY in, we discovered that what we had on our original order confirmation sheet was NOT what we got! We were missing a chair. To my shock and surprise I was told that it was supposed to be ordered, but the sales representative did not include it when he entered our order! We had to order it AGAIN and due to COVID, it would likely take 8-12 weeks! That was in June. The last week of August, I called for an update, I was told that the chair was never ordered, fell through the cracks because I needed to pay for it first! I had called the customer service number and asked if they needed me to pay for the chair now. They informed me that I would get a call when it arrived, and I could pay then, they also stated that the chair should be in early September. I call back around the first of September, and find out that the chair hasn't even been ordered! Joshua, a manager in Ontario, ordered it for me, and I paid at the time of purchase. He said that he would try and put a rush on it, and would call me with updates. I never heard from him again! In mid September, I called AGAIN and spoke with Sung, another sales manager. He was helpful, and checked on my order, and said that it would be in September 25, and he would call me to schedule delivery. I called him on September 26, he stated that there was a hold up in delivery, but he would call me Monday 9/28, with an update. Still nothing from Sung, it's nowOctober 5! So here we are, my living room looks like a psychiatrist office with one chair and sofa. I still don't know when I will get a chair that I ordered in February! My advice is the sit with the sales person when they submit your order, even if it takes extra time. I'm still waiting on a chair that I thought was ordered in February! SECOND thing. We ordered Simon Li furniture for our Den 3 years ago, (separate incident). Our sales representative insisted that because it is leather that we must buy the insurance on it. He was right, it is now scratched by a belt, and by our dog paws. When we bought the insurance we were assured that it covered all accidental damage. I submit a claim with photos to support the damage, and it was denied! I was told that if my dog vomited on the sofa, or I spilled wine on it, or it was stained by spit, it would be covered. This is crazy! I have threading loose on the couch now, due to a belt buckle, or possibly a dog, and because it isn't vomit, or spit, it's not covered?! DO NOT BUY THE FURNITURE INSURANCE! IT'S A SCAM! The sad thing is, the insurance company was rude to top it off! When I spoke with Joshua at the Ontario store in September, I explained this to him. He said he would call them and ask them to call me and take another look at the claim. I have heard NOTHING from the insurance company or Joshua! The selection and quality of furniture is great! If the customer care was the same, I wouldn't be in this situation. UPDATE 10/6: I got a call from Mathis Brothers yesterday. I would bet that they called because of this review. The latest is the chair will be in on 10/15. I will believe it when I see it! This is 8 months now folks!...Still nothing from the insurance company. read more
