This salon is a real gem. I have been going here for hair color and keritin smoothing treatments for about 8 years, and recently also for botox/injectables. Their hair service prices are on the expensive side, but they use the best quality hair care products, which I appreciate. The salon is stylish, spacious, clean, peaceful, and friendly. Since I have ADHD I cannot tolerate hectic or over crowded salons, and the vibe here puts me at ease right away. Amanda, the owner, has fun with it, and they do seasonal decorations and themes in their shop, which shows they really take pride in it. This is a place where they treat you like family. You are greeted warmly by the receptionist as you come in, and normally your stylist will greet you quickly as well, even if she is not ready for you yet. There are strict policies on missed appointments here, and as long as you know that going in, you won't get nasty surprises. They stand by their work, and if I ever have a question or issue with my service, Amanda is the most knowledgeable and gracious owner you could hope to deal with. As long as you treat the salon and staff with respect, it will be returned to you 10 fold. If you are short, rude, or caustic, then I would expect you won't get very far here. TERRIBLE SALON!!!!! TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY MOTHER IN LAW WHO HAS PARKINSONS We dropped my mother in law off at 12:30 for a quick trim, she had very short hair and just wanted to clean it up, she waited for 20 min and then 15min later was charged over $100 for her trim. Pics below, the OWNER is the one that charged her this, taking advantage of residents than live in the neighborhood you do business in is a terrible idea and shame on you for taking advantage of an elderly woman with Parkinson's disease. I am shocked at how this was handled. When I went in to ask what happened to cause this the front desk lady LIED and said she offered my mother in law the option for which level stylist she wanted to be with and asked her who she wanted, this was not true, I listened to the call myself. Their explanation was that it was because she was with a master stylist and they don't bill based on length. NONE OF THIS WAS EXPLAINED PRIOR, it was a bait and switch and this salon is money hungry and desperate if they have to resort from tricking older ladies into $100 trims. READ THEIR FACEBOOK REVIEWS Definitely not talented enough to be charging anyone $200/hr, what a terrible establishment. After everyone saw the story and started sharing their own stories of how this place ripped them off they turned off the ability to leave any new reviews to hide their true reputation from new, unsuspecting patrons. The ladies here are wonderful. I have a 3 yr old son who was terrified to get a hair cut after a lady cut him with clippers. I discussed the issue and how he was scared. They worked at his pace and his comfort level. We have taken him back several times now and they have worked with him every time to the point that he is excited now to get a hair cut vs scared. Every time he walks in the door they call out his name and he gets so excited to them. They always have a treat for him afterwards. My daughter was also wanting to dye her hair but I felt she wasn't ready and didn't want to have to bleach her hair at a young age. When I told the ladies why she was upset they had her get in the chair and did a colored hair extension. It was a great compromise between me and my daughter. And I couldn't thank them enough for giving me an option I didn't know I had. I get my lashes and hair done there now as well after it was fried and fell out from a stylist in the woodlands. I love how easy it is to make appointments. All the savings they offer. They always discuss price with you before hand. If the price doesn't fit your budget they always give you options as to what will fit your budget. They are highly knowledgeable about their products and what will best for your hair. I have never had a bad coloring, highlight or cut from this place. They welcome you in with a smile and friendly attitude. Love this place will be back for sure. read more

I found Salon Mathis on yelp and decided after looking at the reviews to come in and get my hair done. I have had a few bad experiences at other salons and I am always very hesitant to trust people with my hair. I have very thick and corse hair and most stylist don't know what to do with it. As soon as I came into the salon I felt I was in the right place. The environment is so warm and inviting and the girls are so sweet and informational. I have NEVER been happier with my hair! I have been going to Salon Mathis for over 6 years and Amanda has always done an amazing job on my hair. She recommended that I start doing Keratin treatments on my thick frizzy hair and OMG! best thing I ever did! I totally trust her to cut and color my hair and she always changes it up so it doesn't get old. She uses and stocks the best products around. Went to Amanda for the first time Friday night. She did a FABULOUS job on my color and cut! I love it! I have been going to the same stylist for about 11 years. Not anymore ....
