Like most kids in this COVID era, learning virtually was challenging for our 4th grader. Our daughter struggled to grasp her 4th grade Math concepts presented by her teacher. But with the websites, games and worksheets provided by Ms. Robinson, our daughter improved and gained more confidence in her math skills and even strengthened her reading skills. Considering our daughter has ADHD, Ms. Robinson was patient, kind yet stern in tutoring our daughter both virtually and in person. Ms. Robinson was timely, professional, and engaging with our daughter, which provided not only academia but social/behavioral skills that I believe our daughter will employ when returning to school. Skills like making time physical with a watch or clock, time management, and simply conversing with our daughter about her day, allowed our daughter to express herself and communicate her thoughts about tutoring. As our child grew into the 3's Mrs. Andria changed the pace. She treated our son as more of a student and less as a toddler. She taught him respect, yet would also show she cared (which of course was more of a reward for good work or behavior.) From time to time other parents had issues with her, I guess not understanding what exactly she was doing and how important it was to the child's development, but I attribute the majority of my son's excellent behavior and transitional ease into kindergarten to Mrs. Andria. We did have one frustrating situation in Andria's class where another student was repeatedly disrupting the class and nobody at the school would assist Mrs. Andria in the matter, so I had to get involved to the point of getting ready to pull our son out of the program. Once I met with the director, Mrs. Judy from the 4's, we finally got the problematic child removed, but it shouldn't have reached this point. When he reached the 4's, I believe the job was much easier at this point for Mrs. Judy. The 4's class seemed a little more worksheet driven than the artistic projects the 3's had, but progress was still shown. I don't know if it was because of the age or class, but it did seem to slow a little in comparison to strides made by the 3's class as far as behavior we observed at home. The only other issue I think we ever had was when I tried to donate some computers to the classes and wanted to give one to the 4s and one to the 3s, but for whatever reason couldn't give one to the 3s. I don't know if Mrs. Judy didn't think they were ready or what, but the way Mrs. Andria had the kids behaving, I thought they were quite prepared. Obviously I don't run the school though and my requests were rebuffed. I don't feel like I'm giving proper credit to the helpers either. I don't mean to be rude as I can't quite remember name spelling, but I know Mrs. Selma and Mrs. Uhme were loved by our son and always did great work. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 would really be because of the issue with the student that we had to fight so hard to have resolved. Otherwise, it was a great experience, and they have an all-star teacher in the pivotal position between 2's and 4's.

i did not have good experience at all. I found it no more than a money making business. They hire a…read moremanager with good marketting experience but do not hire teachers with good teaching experience. i was ripped off and learned my lesson. Now i help my child in home work and advise parents that dont think that they will do this job efficiently. i found that they are good to get your loan approved and then to quickly utilize that money against time. I feel sorry because i always thought that teaching is a noble profession but here i experiened that it is a " good franchise business".

At this point it seems like they are just messing with us. Stay away.

However, the constant rotation of teachers, having students working primarily on a tablet, and pairing students of widely varied abilities to learn from 1 teacher just wasn't what my child needed to succeed. (This may work just fine for your child.) Unfortunately, it took me a while to realize this after spending quite a large sum of money that could've been directed elsewhere. That being said, I have a friend whose child thrived quite nicely with Sylvan's tutoring so the expected results from this learning environment are likely very child-specific. It is worth a try if your child could use some academic enrichment. Figure out your child's learning style and cater the help you seek to their individual needs.

The curriculum is exactly what my wife and I were hoping from a Montessori and a diverse group of students (and parents) from all around the world! There is a cozy feel to the class which provides individualized attention while enjoying the vitality and "kid-ness" of having a group of peers to play, play, play! We are thrilled with our son's progress in math, reading and reasoning (saying something for a 4 year-old!) and know he is getting a good foundation for learning and that learning is fun.
