If you want to re-live your big day over and over again years later, James is your guy! My wife and I had never done a professional photoshoot. Neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of the camera. After interviewing 5 different photographers, we knew from our first conversation that James was the one. He is incredibly friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable. We agreed to do an engagement session, 1 location for 90mins to see if we'd be comfortable working with James. It couldn't have gone better. Initially, we were a bit stiff, but James gave us tips on how to act naturally, suggested poses and hand positions that made us feel and look relaxed. The time flew by and we actually ended up going to a second location with a wardrobe change. Overall, it was about 2 hours. James did not mind at all. In fact, he probably could've gone longer if the sun hadn't set on us! Our photos were edited and received in less than 2 weeks! James was kind enough to print a large poster and sign that shipped to our house in just a few days. He price matched any package/prints from other photographers. Having gone through our engagement session seamlessly, we hired James to shoot our wedding as well. He and an assistant were on site for 10 hours, tending to our every need and keeping us on our timeline. After our planned family/wedding party photos, we hardly even noticed them working as we proceeded with wedding events. After the wedding, we received many compliments on how great James was and several guests asked for his contact information. Within a couple of days, we received a preview of about 20 photos highlighting our big day. We were thrilled! Every important moment was captured so elegantly! The full magazine of photos was available for download in about 1 month. James then worked with us to print a high quality photo book for our coffee table. You can't go wrong with James--his high quality work and work ethic speak for themselves. Most communication for the photoshoot was arranged all online through e-mail. And for a busy working mom, that works great for me. All communication was very professional and availability dates were all set in advanced. So we showed up with a white dress on (which was what was advised to wear) and literally it only took about 15 minutes. Claudia was so great with my little one. She made her laugh and captured some genuine smiles from her. I was so impressed with her ability to get those smiles, because when I ask my little one to smile, it's more a serial killer looking to the side smile. I would definitely recommend A&C photography for family or kid photos. I noticed their Instagram that they do lots of shoots from Disneyland, and being that we are a big Disney family, I might just have to do a photoshoot there one day. Firstly, through all of her communications (text l, emails, phone calls), she walks you through what happens during the entire process. I appreciated this so I knew what to anticipate in advance. She makes you feel comfortable sharing any of your concerns and asking her any questions, she takes her time and cares. She really makes it easier providing advice on your selection of clothing, what looks good on you and on the camera and what may not, so you have and idea what to shop for. It is apparent that she's been doing this for a long time, you get to the location, everything is ready to go and she makes you feel right at home. Kristina greeted me with a welcome gift with well thought out goodies. Her hairdresser/makeup artist, Jenn, was the best! Kristina informed Jenn of my idea for hair and makeup, so Jenn already had an idea on what to do for me and just asked me a few questions. The outcome whoa, Jenn was so spot on with the look I was trying to capture, I loved it! Kristina and Kelly, Assistant, styled my 4 outfits and shoes, determining what would look optimal for me. Kristina even had delicious refreshments to keep us fed during the 4 hours. Boy did that 4 hours go by fast! The Joshua Tree location was spectacular with a beautiful pool and the beautiful desert landscaping in the backyard, most importantly it was private. The best part was taking the pictures. Kristina is fun, funny, walks you through what to do, plays music and has a proactive way to make you feel comfortable, that you even get goofy. From her Gallery in her website, she has taken so many awesome shots, which is why I decided to go with her. Besides, she makes you feel like a badass during the shoot. It was important to us to find a quality photographer with an eye for some of the artsy/moody photos we were hoping for. Enter Eve who really did come and save the day. From the moment we met, she was so kind and showed a true interest in getting to know us as a couple. She was an absolute rock star during our wedding. We had a larger wedding (150 ppl) and she handled it with grace; always staying patient but giving direction confidently when need be. One of our favorite things Eve did was our private vows. We were considering scrapping it as it might be too complicated logistically, but Eve knew how important that time would later be and moved quick to find a quiet spot to make it happen. Our recommendations to couples -- not just with Kella Photography but any photographer you may choose to use, it is very important to make note before the big day what shots are essential for the two of you to ensure it gets done. We really wanted to have great family & friend photos and our photographers made sure to wrangler the group and make it happen for us. This is quite difficult in general, especially in a pandemic. There are a lot of photographers out there that add filters to images. You know the "pinterest" look. I heavily considered that "look", but after meeting Alex and looking through her website, I realized her photos are classic and timeless which is way better than a filter that will be out of date in the future. I have to make a shoutout to Alexandra's assistant Alex...he went above and beyond for us in many ways throughout the day but one specific incident comes to mind. Given the pandemic I didn't have my bridesmaids at the final dress fitting. In a pinch and to stay on schedule he helped us out with my bustle!!
