When we were originally searching around for a wedding photographer in 2019, we stumbled across Eve's portfolio and fell in love with her work. We love her style, and she has an incredible talent for perfectly capturing a time and place with all the emotions wrapped up in that moment. Her photos are impressive works of art, and she is able to capitalize on locations and very specific lighting, yielding crisp, clean, colorful shots. Some photographers may just take a bunch of pictures--but when you look at Eve's photos, it's like they tell a story--like you're reliving an experience. Eve is very passionate about the work she does. We really enjoyed her sneak peeks from our shoots, and it was genuinely fun to work with her. She comes with years of experience, and is knowledgeable about the Long Beach area. She was already familiar with all the shoot locations beforehand and knew where and how to get the best shots. There aren't enough words to effectively convey the gratitude my husband and I have for Eve. I found her on Instagram a year before our wedding and there was something simple but extremely unique about her photos, not overdone but still magnifying every single natural detail about the couples she shot and the elements around them. When I was weighing different photographers, I asked a friend who went to school for photography to look at the ones that were in my potential budget range. She reviewed the photographs without knowing the quotes and preferred Eve's heads above the rest, moreso than a couple that were more expensive and did not include a second photographer. Good wedding photography is expensive, but the quality of her photographs for the price is a deal, particularly considering that she often doesn't charge extra for travel within CA. She didn't even try to upsell us on more hours, giving us the wise advice that we'd want to use her hours toward getting ready photos rather than more dim, sweaty dance floor photos. We were adamant about two things, incredible food and photography, and our vendors being vegan along side us. Eve fit the bill as a vegan photographer for us. When my husband and I met Eve, we went to a vegan bar in downtown LA, and bonded over vegan food and wine (both very important things in my life). Eve from EveRox Photography was out of this world, she was so good at making us feel at ease in front of a camera. Let us start off by saying, everyone thinks it's cute to be quirky or awkward in pictures, but when you, as a couple, are truly awkward about PDA and Pictures well its spells disaster for a photographer. Well, this is not the case with Eve. We found Eve through our Wedding planner Megan from Sweet Peach Planning. She sent us a link to her portfolio and we fell in love with her color palate. Our first meeting was a little rocky, in the sense that we didn't know what we wanted and we all were trying to figure each other out. After speaking with Megan we decided to go with an engagement session so we can all work together and feel each other out, this was honestly the best thing ever because the second Eve started snapping photos of us, she knew exactly what she needed from us. Of course, we were awkward at times but Eve would ease us into it and just let the camera take pictures of our true outburst of laughter we thought we were secretly sharing. This led us to hire Eve for our Elopement since we had to reschedule our Ceremony to the summer but did not want to lose out on our 10thanniversary as a couple being the day we tied the knot. Eve makes Lemon drops out of Lemons because it was POURING down that day and she still managed to take some of the best pictures of the special day we shared with my mother, her father, and our officiant. This is why the day of the ceremony in the high 90's Eve found a way to get the best out of us. I mean, she would just give us a couple of words on how she wanted us posed and we already knew what she needed. Although it can feel overwhelming with everything going on, Eve's mind is only thinking of that perfect shot and when she finds it she makes sure she runs over to steal you for a few seconds to get that shot. My favorite shot of ours is where I am holding my wife up with the sun behind us in front of a cactus garden, it reminds me of all the rom-com movie posters we grew up seeing in the '90s. One last thing we wanted to touch on was how fast and eager Eve is to get you a sneak peek of your photos. Our wedding was packed and over with by 11 pm, we got our first 30 photos at 1 am. Eve had left our wedding around 7 pm this means by the time she beat the traffic to her home almost an hour away, ate dinner, and took time to relax a little, she had knocked out some of the best pictures our special day. Where do I begin with Eve? From the moment my wife and I contacted her, we knew that she would be the one to capture the momentous occasion that would soon be known as the unofficial wedding of the century. It began with a Skype call to get a feel for each other's personalities and we automatically clicked. Eve and Edith were both warm, welcoming, and overall incredibly fun people to interact with. We decided to book them immediately and they never failed to disappoint. The package that we purchased, which was very reasonably priced for the amount of work that goes into it, included both engagement and wedding photos. Due to the fact that my wife and I live in San Jose and are planning a wedding in Los Angeles, it was quite difficult to schedule a time where we could both be in the same place at the same time. Eve went above an beyond any expectation that we had when she offered to do our engagement photos in San Francisco. When we finally met face-to-face for the first time, it was as if we were long-time friends reuniting. The conversation was easy and the jokes were flying! We hit up two separate spots (Magnolia Brewing Co. and Clarion Alley) and the interactions just felt SO natural. We finished up and said our goodbyes until the wedding day (sadly). On the wedding day, Eve and Edith were beyond prepared; they knew what to do, when to do it, who to talk to, how to talk to them, and every little detail that allowed our day to simply flow while they captured it seamlessly. Eve Rox (Evelyn and Edith) were the photographers for our Los Angeles wedding held in April 2017. When looking for a wedding photographer, we wanted someone that really captured special moments and emotions rather than just snap shots. We wanted someone who was passionate about their clients and career rather than in it just to make some money. We also had a set budget that was rather tight for the LA market. We got really lucky when finding Eve Rox as Evelyn and Edith met all of our needs. They are kind, caring people in addition to bad-ass photographers :-) Because of our budget, we vouched only to have pictures taken on our wedding versus a package with engagement shots. Leading up to our wedding day, we had numerous phone calls and email conversations with Evelyn to get to know each other and also plan for our special day. These phone calls were really crucial because our timeline between our wedding and reception was rather tight. Without proper planning, crucial time would've been wasted coordinating people and figuring out who we need to take pictures with. One thing that I learned is that a lot of your time is spent with your photographer on your wedding day. Special moments such as getting ready and your first look are going to be shared with your photographer, so you want someone that you feel comfortable with. When I first started planning my wedding, I asked my already married friends for tips on what they would do differently if they were to plan their weddings again. Most of them said they would spend more time finding a photographer that they clicked with, since it's so important that you feel comfortable with them on your wedding day. With that in mind, my fiancé and I spent some time trying to find a wedding photographer whose style and personality would be a good fit. We were looking for someone who would make our photos look natural, bold, and moody - and that they would know how to work couples who don't have strong direction on what type of photos we want. We spoke to several great wedding photographers, but it wasn't until we first chatted with Eve that we knew we found our photographer. The reason Eve stood out to us is that she is truly passionate about her craft - you can see it in her portfolio, and when she speaks about photographing her couples. Eve's portfolio stood out to us because she's so good at capturing light, and we love the way she plays with contrast in her editing. Eve lit up when we asked her what her favorite part about wedding photography was - she spoke about making us truly comfortable with each other behind the camera, and letting her work her magic in finding the best angles, scenery, and lighting. In contrast, other wedding photographers we were considering seemed more eager about giving a lot of direction on our wedding day - and told us that they love to make us laugh or suggest tons of poses for us. I'm sure that would be great for other couples, but we were definitely looking for someone who would capture us in the most natural "light". Our engagement photo session was really fun - and that's despite the day being cold, windy, and drizzling. We had it in San Francisco, and we were planning on taking our pictures atop a hill with the background of the Golden Gate Bridge. When we got there, there was a ton of fog that covered the bridge the entire morning. Instead, Eve had us take pictures in this abandoned fort/base area, which turned out to be so cool and had the perfect vibe with the weather. Eve, and her second shooter, Denia, made us feel so comfortable and we had so much fun (and neither of us really enjoy taking photos.) Eve sent previews of the engagement pictures that weekend, and we couldn't stop looking at them. She made sure to capture a huge range of backgrounds, poses, great lighting, outfits etc. She even made sure that right before we left the area that we got one really epic shot of the Golden Gate bridge peeking through the fog. :) Although we haven't had our wedding ceremony yet, we know the Eve will do an incredible job. She's always taking workshops and classes to improve her skills, which I admire given she's been doing this for a while. Eve is an extremely talented photographer. When I looked at photos from past weddings she photographed on her website, I didn't just see photos, I saw stories of love. Stories of people I didn't even know. I was getting emotional about other people's weddings through her photos. When we had our initial Skype meeting with Eve, she was so chill. We originally had someone else do our engagement photos and we're going to use them for wedding as well, we got a random email saying they booked someone else for our date. Frantically we looked high and low, emailed, asked around... then my husband (fiancé then) scrolled through Instagram photos and found..... EVE ROX! Oh my gosh we fell in love with her photos. We contacted Eve and from the beginning she was so friendly and funny (you need that while you're wedding planning). She was always available to review her contract, so helpful to answer questions, and when we had to talk dollar bills she was more than willing to sit down with us and work out the best deal for both sides. Her payment plan is also amazing. You make a deposit then pay monthly, this is amazing since most vendors have you pay everything upfront or your wedding month. She will always check in with you, guide you through the picture process (giving her lists of people you want photographed, photo ideas, etc..), she's always willing to help. Her photo albums are so easy to share and you have 100% control and rights to your photos! You get all of her edited photos and you can download them directly or print straight from the site. No matter what curve balls get thrown your way on your day, Eve WILL have you covered. If you're looking for someone who will go above and beyond and show you so much kindness and love.. Eve is your girl! Everyone still talks about our photos. I think what stands out the most about her photos are the warmth and colors. They're so unique. There's a warmth you feel. They're hip and cool but so romantic. They're warm and tender but not sappy. I promise you without a doubt choosing Eve will leave you so happy and you won't regret it. We knew we wanted Eve to photograph our wedding as soon as we stumbled upon her on Instagram (1.5 years before our wedding!) Hiring her was one of the absolute best decisions we could have made. She has an amazing ability to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, which is not easy! Her style of shooting is so non-intrusive and natural. Plus, her calming presence really helped me stay grounded and relaxed on a day that was overflowing with emotion and (happy) chaos. I couldn't have wished for a better person to follow me around all day on one of the best days of my life ;) My wedding was 5 months ago and we still talk all the time. My partner and I initially found Eve's photos on Instagram. We emailed her, along with a few other photographers, to inquire about pricing and availability. Even from the first email encounter, working with Eve was incredible easy and stress-free. We felt confident in choosing her as our wedding photographer. A couple months after signing the contract (with about 6 months to go before the wedding), I received an email from Eve out of the blue. She was going to be in the Bay Area shooting other events, and wanted to offer a free engagement session for us in her downtime. We initially had not wanted to take engagement photos -- my partner and I don't like having our picture taken! -- but we are so glad we did. Eve is a hard working, dedicated and highly skilled photographer. Despite the 90 degree heat and my crazy family and friends Eve kept her cool and snapped the memorable moments of the evening. I work in film and have hired crew members for shoots over the years and have rarely seen someone work so hard. I kept looking over my shoulder during important moments to catch her attention and she was already there while still giving me personal space to enjoy the special day. The photos have a candid quality to them just like I discussed with Eve beforehand and look fantastic. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Eve. I initially found Eve through Instagram after finding that she photographed another wedding at our venue in the San Francisco Bay Area the year before. The immense depth and rich colors she beautifully captured in her pictures mesmerized me, and I immediately reached out. Through our initial Skype session, Eve's warmth and kindness made my husband and I feel so comfortable as we knew we had met someone who was caring and had our best interests at heart. Not only that, we connected through our similar family values, as Eve and my husband come from large Latino families and bonded over how big our wedding was going to be. It felt like we had known her for a long time even though we had just meet her. Despite living in Southern California, Eve comforted us with her enduring trust that she would be committed to travel our San Francisco Bay Area wedding as she regularly photographs in the area and has friends and family that live there. After our initial meeting, we knew we could trust and count on her. Leading up to our engagement shoot, Eve was efficiently responsive from our many emails and text messages as she helped fine tune many of the questions and ideas I had for the shoot. I loved how receptive and excited she was for my ideas and I loved how she offered some of her own, too! Not to mention, she flew into San Francisco just for the night to take our pictures! Prior to our engagement shoot, my husband and I have never taken professional photos and were a little nervous how they would turn out. All of our worries went away within the first couple of shots as Eve made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Her excitement was palpable and made the engagement shoot so much fun! She blew our expectations out of the water with her commitment to capture as many pictures as she could, even spending the whole afternoon with us (way longer than we thought she would spend). We even drove around the city to find more places to take pictures and despite us offering to end the session (out of courtesy, we loved it and could have gone for longer), she eased our worries and insisted we spend more time. Her commitment to get to know us and capture this special time in our lives made me overwhelmed with immense gratitude and appreciation. By the end of the engagement shoot, we felt that we had met someone who clicked with us so well and we truly had found a friend in Eve. In addition, she surprised my husband and I with our completed engagement shoot just a few days later! Leading up to our wedding, Eve was so meticulous about the schedule for the day, which made me feel so comforted (since we did not have a wedding planner or day of coordinator). I truly felt that I could rely on her for her advice and wisdom in planning how the day was going to go. On the day of the wedding, she arrived early with the second photographer and jumped right into action. She captured all the small details before our ceremony and was accommodating and creative when we got a little behind schedule (due to hair and makeup taking a little longer than expected). Throughout the rest of the day, she effortlessly captured every moment and even stayed longer at the end to get the last shot of my husband and I in a redwood grove where our ceremony took place. Truly, we cannot thank Eve enough for everything she did for my husband and I. I cannot tell you how many people have commented on how BEAUTIFUL our pictures are. Eve truly has a gift and everyone at our wedding couldn't say enough wonderful things about her. Photography was one of the few things that I REALLY cared about when planning a tiny wedding (elopement really) at the courthouse. I was raised around professional photographers and so was invested in getting photos that could both make everyone in my family look great and that also had real artistic quality. Not only did Eve NAIL our photos on both counts, she was the sweetest, most grounding and overall awesome presence throughout the whole day. Seriously, if she could get our family (which includes an 80 year old, a frenetic six year old, and a two grumpy teenagers, plus us the bride and groom, NONE OF WHOM LIKE HAVING OUR PICTURE TAKEN) to look stunning and comfortable, she can do anything. Eve is also such a breeze to work with- it felt like having another trusted friend with us all day, and when she sent us a preview of the photos WITHIN HOURS, I was expecting maybe three, but got ~25 stunning shots off the bat! What can I say about our photographer, Evelyn? Wow. Theres a lot I want to say but I just want to express the bullet points -- she was so amazing, professional, and helpful. We changed our wedding from an elopement to an actual ceremony, and she agreed to the date changes. Not only that but she went and above and beyond to help me with the actual wedding planning, helping me with so many details and things I didn't have any clue how to do. Just so so helpful, even when that wasn't part of her job at all and wasn't required. It felt like she really actually did care about wanting us to have the wedding we wanted, and was always so easy to get ahold of and quick to respond to any questions. She did an amazing job at our wedding and got some really beautiful photos of us which we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Additionally, after the wedding our photos were ready pretty quickly and she made it simple to access and order prints that we wanted. Then a few weeks later we got a package in the mail and it was a beautiful one-of-a-kind flash drive with our photos and some prints that she had done as well.
