Back for a second visit, and I'm officially calling it: this is the most authentic ramen in the Triangle. The homemade noodles are a game-changer, but the broth is the real star--rich, consistent, and 'drink-every-last-drop' good. It's clearly crafted with care. Don't skip the spicy tabletop seasoning; it pairs perfectly. Between the incredible food and the authentic Japanese decor, the vibes here are unmatched.

Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen

Best Ramen in Cary! They make noodle from scratch, very fresh and the broth is so rich and delicious!

Overall: Matsumoto punches above it's weight class in terms of quality for its ramen. Highly recommend you come and try. Food: The ramen here was great. Rich flavors and high quality ingredients result in a very deep flavor you look for in a warm bowl for ramen. The quality to price ratio is great here, I think it packs the punch of a premium ramen, but at a lower price point. The curry was also fantastic, very thick curry and the tonkatsu pairs super well with it offering great variety in texture. The calamari I thought was pretty normal, nothing crazy here, thought it was a bit over priced for what was offered. Service: The service is fast, you order at the front desk and then pick your own seat. Food comes out quickly, even during standard lunch and dinner hours on both weekend and weekdays. Ambiance: The inside has plenty of seating and a fun entrance. As soon as you walk in the store you are greeted with a wide variety of drinks and small figures that you can purchase.

I raced out when I heard there was a new ramen spot. Craft is fast, casual dining. You pick up your drink and order at a counter. Quick and easy. Server brings food quickly. I was there in the afternoon so can't speak to dinner. The pork is super tender but sliced a little thin for me. Bouncy noodles and a spicy broth. Wish the spice came on the side since I couldn't taste the broth alone. I'd probably eat there again. My only complaint is paying the tip before I had any service. There's no service aside from bringing the food so that's 3 stars.

This is a newer ramen spot in the area. You order and pay at the front kiosk, they give you a number, and you pretty much seat yourself. The ramen was delicious - the broth was rich and full of flavor. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with lots of anime figurines displayed throughout.

Tonkatsu spicy ramen, teriyaki brussel sprouts

Great place, with kind staff. I loved the teriyaki Brussels sprouts as well. There's figurines lined throughout the restaurant, and plenty of seating. The noodles are hand pulled in house.

This new ramen joint is worth a visit! The food was delicious. I had the spicy vegan ramen and my son had the spicy tonkatsu ramen. Both were yummy and the portions were large. Service was friendly. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. This confused me at first, as I was asked to tip at checkout but didn't realize they'd be serving us. Normally if you order at the counter, it's self-service, which for me = no/minimal tip. Thankfully I had cash to tip them once I realized they would be serving the food & drinks. Ambiance is just ok. They could stand to repaint and fix the place up a bit. Maybe that will come in time. But they had a little market area and Japanese figurines displayed in cases, which my son liked.

The food at this place is delicious! The broth is perfect and the noodles are made in house. The service was great. The restaurant was empty so we had it all to ourselves. The owner was so sweet and gave us free dessert.

Yowza, best ramen I've had in NC, hands down. They keep it simple here and easy to order, base is either pork, chicken or vegan broth, spicy or regular, plus curry. The vegan broth was rich and lovely, the miso ramen full bodied. Other typical sides like karaage, gyoza and onigiri available. Freaking delicious.

I had a good time eating here after attending the lantern festival nearby. Our waiter Tim was so kind and got all the food out quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately the kitchen staff messed up one of our ramen orders and when it came back, it was obvious the kitchen just scooped out the wrong ingredients rather than remaking the dish. Besides that, the food was good and the environment was cute. I ordered the shrimp curry rice and although it was good, there was way too much rice and not enough shrimp. Next time I'll definitely try the ramen instead.

Incredible new ramen spot in Cary. I would say their ramen is comparable to Noodle Blvd - high quality, large quantity, and priced well. Service was fast and the decor was super cool! We got the spicy tonkotsu ramen and the tonkatsu curry. Both were delicious and filling. Can't wait to come back again!

Chicken Karaage - not good & overpriced

You really have to try the restaurant & not just go by reviews of other people. We checked them out on a Friday night & decided to get something to go as you have to wait for tables to open up after you order by the counter. It took a while to get our to go order. Upon getting home, we tasted the chicken karaage. Some parts of the chicken were burnt & hard to chew and it seemed like it was just reheated and not fresh. Pork Tonkatsu ramen was okay. We've had better ramen somewhere else. For us, the price of what we ordered is not worth it. Not sure if this was the same ownership as the Tasu restaurant that closed because their website is still somewhat connected to Tasu.

Gyoza
I C.

Excellent balance of a rich yet clean tasting tonkatsu broth, perfectly al dente handmade ramen noodles. Gyoza wrappers are thin and almost translucent even though it wasn't handmade here but the fillings is best with a light and refreshingly delicious gingery essence. We couldn't resist but ordered the cast iron fried rice and teriyaki Brussels sprouts to go. I wished we had just ordered to eat in because the cast iron fried rice would have been served in cast iron skillet with crispy rice on bottom and a runny egg instead of just beaten eggs on top. It has minced pork and chicken as the meat in the rice. The fried rice was nicely seasoned with a very light peppery flavor. The teriyaki Brussels sprouts was just yummy Fast service. Order from counter, take order number to table and order will be delivered to your table. Indoors/outdoors seatings available. Great for bringing your doggy

Delicious!! This was…read moremy first time having ramen, and my friend suggested we go here, and I'm so glad we did! Noodle Blvd is located in a spot that you could easily miss, but it's easy to get back on track. I pulled into the gas station parking lot beside the restaurant, then just turned right into the restaurant parking lot. The parking lot is fairly small, so be warned about that. My friend was there when I arrived, and he sat at the bar. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and waves. It was very inviting, which is fitting for a ramen restaurant. My friend ordered us Lychee Margaritas, and oh my goodness, it was so good! We decided to visit right at opening on a Saturday, so the bartender was still preparing some of the ingredients needed for the margarita. The bartender informed us that it's usually better once a key ingredient sits for a while, but I loved the drink regardless. I ordered edamame for an appetizer, which came quickly and was good! Since I've never had ramen before, I asked our server what he recommended, and he told me about some of their most popular dishes. He told me the N9. Chicken Curry Ramen was a favorite of his and the patrons, so I decided to order that. It came quickly, and I was immediately in HEAVEN upon my first bite. I loved every bite after! I decided to play it safe with the spice and got level 2, but I can definitely go up a level or 2 since I love spicy. Highly recommend, and I will be back! Worth the drive from Clayton, where I live.

The short rib ramen was good, but the noodles were short, like they were cut or made short on purpose. The shrimp shumai was disappointing. Small bite sized portions, but they were soft. After cutting into one, I found out that they use rice as a filler with a bit of shrimp. I've never seen rice used in shumai, unless it's Shanghai sticky rice shumai. Also got a unagi don togo, it was good, just a bit small on the portion of eel, but it's hard to mess up an unagi don.

This week my teen reminded me that a new Ramen place has opened in the same facility so I decided to give it a try. The ambience is cozy, though I found that tables are very close to each other, so it is very hard to keep a conversation going without you either disturbing the other table or worrying about having someone else listen to your conversation menu is fine. I did not care for sushi because I was there for Ramen. Besides, they have a vegetarian Ramen is what I was looking for, my daughter ordered a teriyaki Ramen. My vegetarian Ramen had a lot of tempura in it, which defeated the purpose a little bit for me because it was a little oily. The taste was more or less like a red curry and there was very less vegetables mostly it was sweet corn and one or two bok choy on the other hand my teen, who is very hard to please loved the teriyaki Raman and is already planning to go back this weekend to try the other ones , all in all I gave this place a four star because the umami of the Ramen was very comforting, even though I did not like the taste much

So spirits were high right from the start. For the record, I've been here a handful of times before, usually for lunch, but this was my first dinner visit. Parking was easy and plentiful, and even though the restaurant was fairly busy, we were seated right away. Always a nice win. We kicked things off with a bowl of edamame that was perfectly salted. The boys went with miso soup, which was flavorful but came out lava hot. Like, ice-cube-required hot. Tasty, but proceed with caution if you have kids. For sushi, we kept it simple and solid with a mix of one classic and two specialty rolls: Spicy Tuna, Phoenix, and the Crunchy Roll. All were fresh, well-made, and hit the spot. Food came out quickly, service was friendly and attentive, and the overall value felt right. Since we live nearby, this will definitely stay in our regular rotation. A great, easy dinner spot for sushi with family.

I had already looked at the menu online and knew what I wanted: shoyu ramen. The order was served with a spoon, a side plate and a paper towel. There was 1 soft-boiled cut into two halves and ample amounts of scallion, menma and braised pork belly. The latter had a rich flavor, helped in no small part by the pork and chicken broth. Not only that, the broth complimented the rest of the ingredients; the egg was enjoyable. My only (minor) complaint is the portion size of the ramen itself. It was smaller than I would like. The lady that served me was probably (best guess) the owner. Her service was impeccable. In addition, Kinoko has a pleasing amenity not found in most restaurants: an AC outlet at every table that was by the wall. This was very handy for a heavy user of laptops and phones like myself. Although there was music playing in the background, it wasn't loud. The server and I were able to hear each other, and I could also hear the voices of others at the bar. The restroom had an interesting decor of newspapers for wallpaper. That was something I didn't see elsewhere. If you love good ramen, come to Kinoko Ramen. If you like a quiet place to dine in, come to Kinoko Ramen. Perfect scores in food, service and atmosphere.

I found solace in their Sukiyaki Beef Rice Bowl. This one really brought me back over and over. This bowl was delicious with lots of tasty beef, rice (cooked perfectly to eat with chopsticks), and veggie components. It had many different presentations but always great and my fave here. Notice I use past tense in my descriptions...well, in the last few months the Sukiyaki Beef Rice Bowl is no more here. First I noticed it marked out on the menu then on other printed later versions, just gone. Servers have said they do not see it coming back. I am disappointed. However, I have tried their other rice bowl selections in the meantime. In getting the Chashu Rice Bowl with braised pork, it did not do the trick for me like the beef bowl did. I do enjoy their Karaage Rice Bowl now with marinated chicken (however, fried) with the accompanying sauce and spicy mayo really making it special. Again, the rice is so perfectly cooked. I enjoy their fried gyoza as well (but again, wish maybe there could be a steamed version offered) and their veggie spring rolls. So even though disappointed with the disappearance of the Sukiyaki Beef Rice Bowl, I have enjoyed their Karaage Rice Bowl as well as some appetizer selections here after the menu change.

The noodles themselves didn't really stand out to me. - Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box (Dashimaki, shrimp shumai, salad, pickles, rice, miso soup): Ehh... this was fine, but I'd definitely skip it next time. The restaurant is "cute," with neon, sushi cats, and TVs. Quiet when it's empty, loud when there are large tables. Both the tonkatsu and shoyu ramens tasted fine if a little too salty. Salt was, in fact, the primary flavor. The broths had nowhere near the richness and depth of flavor that should have been present. The noodles were appropriately bouncy and were well cooked. The appetizers were also just okay. It's hard to screw up edamame and they didn't. They were served hotter than usual which was actually very nice. The furikake fries are overrated. The fries themselves are good and beautifully crispy but that's due to the light coating of cornstarch or rice flour on the fries. That helps give them that extra boost. The furikake itself doesn't stick to the fries and just falls to the bottom of the dish, adding absolutely nothing to the fries. The restaurant seemed understaffed. The server did his level best but was spread too thin. All in all, decent food but Miso Ramen by the bus station is much better.
