Cozy and tucked inside a Harris teeter shopping plaza but don't let that fool you- had some of the BEST sushi rolls! Delicious food, fairly priced, and wonderful service from this family owned spot. Highly recommend!

I will forever go here for my sushi needs! 10 out of 10 always! They make you feel like family and remember your face.

Nigiri Deluxe

Oiso is such an underrated gem! It's one of my favorite sushi spots--a casual family-owned restaurant with fresh fish and a few Korean food options (like HWEDUPBAP). Nigiri deluxe and bento sets are some of my most ordered dishes, and I can speak to the consistent in both the quality of the food and the service.

Yonkatsu (panko breaded and deep fried pork cutlet), May 2025.

Bottom line: Experienced a good meal here at Oiso. The gyoza, spicy tuna crunch roll (more spicy than usual), and Yonkatsu entree were all enjoyable. The sauce with the Yonkatsu made it, ask for extra if possible! We had friendly and attentive service. Overall, a nice visit here. The Deets: I had the chance to go to Oiso with some work colleagues recently, located within the Maynard Crossing shopping center in Cary. Entering, it's a nicely decorated eatery with both booths and tables available for seating. Once we were seated at our table, menus and drink orders were taken in good time. I was a bit disappointed to learn they they no longer do bibimbap dishes, as I do like this Korean dish. However, their menu has plenty to enjoy otherwise. I started with steamed gyoza and a spicy tuna crunch sushi roll as appetizers. They were both good and I have to note their their spicy tuna was a good deal spicier than the spicy tuna I have normally had (most are not even that spicy really) and while it did have a bit of a kick, it was not strong or overpowering (I am not a fan of overly spicy food but this level was just fine). For my entree, I chose the Yonkatsu (panko breaded and deep fried pork cutlet) with rice. I enjoyed this one, mainly because of the accompanying sauce with the cutlet. I wish I had a salad bowl's worth of that sauce instead of the small sauce bowl, I really loved it with the pork! Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my meal at Oiso and my colleagues voiced the same.

Loved my experience at Oiso! The service and food were both great. I started with the ginger salad and the miso soup. I also had a rainbow roll, which was fresh and filling! Good ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating.

Small, family restaurant that delivered on great service and fantastic sushi! The crazy crunch roll was our favorite and a must try. Definitely recommend if you love authentic sushi!

Es un buen lugar para comer y todo está muy bien ubicado siempre hay parqueo y la comida deliciosa la atención excelente .

Specialty rolls. Sorry I don't remember which ones.

I love this place. They don't charge double and then make you do bogo like so many sushi places around here. . Oiso rolls are always just right. The right size, with the right cut, with the right amount of ingredients. Just perfect. I've brought many people here, and they all loved it. And the staff are always very nice. They check in just the right amount of times.

Sushi special

After years of wanting to come here, I finally made it! It was worth the wait, because the fish is absolutely amazing. I had the sushi special, which is six pieces of nigiri, with a simple roll of your choice (salmon or tuna). Everything was delicious, except I wasn't a huge fan of the squid, but that's OK because I don't think it's for everyone. Our waiter was really nice, and everything was fantastic! Definitely recommend it, especially for people who want vegetarian sushi.

We came in for the first time about an hour before they closed and there was no wait time. The service was great and the waiter was very friendly. We got the spicy tower to start and three special rolls: crazy crunch, hurricane, and sweet Carolina. They were all really good. This has become my favorite sushi spot!

Chef Kim's roll

Had a chance to visit Oiso in Cary tonight which sits in a smaller shopping center next to Harris teeter off of Maynard Rd it's a smaller restaurant that is korean based ... It serves sushi and some korean entrees.. So checked it out and had ate the following dishes: Chef Kim's Roll which is Tuna, salmon, white tuna(escolar), snapper, spicy crab, cilantro and crab stick in daikon wrap, topped with special ponzu sauce... this roll was delicious .. it's one of the heavier options on rolls but the daikon gave it a lil extra love to an already delicious roll. Crispy Rice which is a spicy tuna and avocado served on deep fried rice triangles ... I had this same dish at M Sushi in Durham and it was on the same level of deliciousness.. think spicy tuna tartare on a crostini... this is just the Asian version of it .. Tuna Kani is Tuna, avocado and crabstick wrapped in cucumber with special ponzu sauce was good here but not as good as Osha Thais version .. still delicious but cucumber was sliced a little thicker .. good option if you didnt want the heavier sushi with rice type rolls. Beef Bulgogi BIBIMBAP which is a bed rice served in hot stone bowl where the rice on the bottom is crispy due to the oil and hot stone bowl giving it a nice crispy rice base and than its topped with cucumbers, bean sprouts , a fried egg, and beef bulgogi... the crispy rice in the bottom is like a hidden treasure ... you dig it up and stir it with the rest of the ingredients in the bowl and add some Gochujang sauce to kick it up with a lil spice. Overall a good little spot

The four of us tried multiple sets, and the portions were incredibly generous. For example, the signature set was honestly too much food for one person. Considering both the quality and quantity, the pricing felt like an absolute steal. Not only was the fish excellent, but the shellfish was outstanding as well -- the clam & scallop were both some of my favorite bites of the meal. Everything tasted extremely fresh. They also had a great sake selection. Dessert options were limited (it seemed like they usually offer just one item). Service was incredibly efficient. At times, the pace made me feel slightly rushed, but the staff were always friendly and attentive throughout. The restaurant itself is small, welcoming, and stayed busy throughout the night. I really loved the casual, low-key atmosphere paired with truly top-notch food. Already looking forward to coming back many more times!

I had already looked at the menu online and knew what I wanted: shoyu ramen. The order was served with a spoon, a side plate and a paper towel. There was 1 soft-boiled cut into two halves and ample amounts of scallion, menma and braised pork belly. The latter had a rich flavor, helped in no small part by the pork and chicken broth. Not only that, the broth complimented the rest of the ingredients; the egg was enjoyable. My only (minor) complaint is the portion size of the ramen itself. It was smaller than I would like. The lady that served me was probably (best guess) the owner. Her service was impeccable. In addition, Kinoko has a pleasing amenity not found in most restaurants: an AC outlet at every table that was by the wall. This was very handy for a heavy user of laptops and phones like myself. Although there was music playing in the background, it wasn't loud. The server and I were able to hear each other, and I could also hear the voices of others at the bar. The restroom had an interesting decor of newspapers for wallpaper. That was something I didn't see elsewhere. If you love good ramen, come to Kinoko Ramen. If you like a quiet place to dine in, come to Kinoko Ramen. Perfect scores in food, service and atmosphere.

It wasn't crowded, but it was doing a lot of takeout for a ramen spot (generally a food best enjoyed fresh). The mala ramen (a mix of spicy and tingly sensations) that I sought delivered on the premise. It was a fascinating flavor mix, with some harsh notes that would be a discovery for those that haven't had mala before working well because of the balance of salty and savory flavors and some nice greens and sweet corn. It was unique and I enjoyed it. They had some appetizers and things that I wasn't hungry enough for, but I did wash it down with tea. It was a very reasonable price given how the hipster ramen market has gone. And they had enough menu options that returning would be worthwhile. I ended up going to the other local ramen place anyway the next day, and I would say that both were really good. You can't go wrong.

I did not care for sushi because I was there for Ramen. Besides, they have a vegetarian Ramen is what I was looking for, my daughter ordered a teriyaki Ramen. My vegetarian Ramen had a lot of tempura in it, which defeated the purpose a little bit for me because it was a little oily. The boys went with miso soup, which was flavorful but came out lava hot. Like, ice-cube-required hot. Tasty, but proceed with caution if you have kids. For sushi, we kept it simple and solid with a mix of one classic and two specialty rolls: Spicy Tuna, Phoenix, and the Crunchy Roll. All were fresh, well-made, and hit the spot. Food came out quickly, service was friendly and attentive, and the overall value felt right. Since we live nearby, this will definitely stay in our regular rotation. Delicious!! This was…read moremy first time having ramen, and my friend suggested we go here, and I'm so glad we did! Noodle Blvd is located in a spot that you could easily miss, but it's easy to get back on track. I pulled into the gas station parking lot beside the restaurant, then just turned right into the restaurant parking lot. The parking lot is fairly small, so be warned about that. My friend was there when I arrived, and he sat at the bar. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and waves. It was very inviting, which is fitting for a ramen restaurant. My friend ordered us Lychee Margaritas, and oh my goodness, it was so good! We decided to visit right at opening on a Saturday, so the bartender was still preparing some of the ingredients needed for the margarita. The bartender informed us that it's usually better once a key ingredient sits for a while, but I loved the drink regardless. I ordered edamame for an appetizer, which came quickly and was good! Since I've never had ramen before, I asked our server what he recommended, and he told me about some of their most popular dishes. He told me the N9. Chicken Curry Ramen was a favorite of his and the patrons, so I decided to order that. It came quickly, and I was immediately in HEAVEN upon my first bite. I loved every bite after! I decided to play it safe with the spice and got level 2, but I can definitely go up a level or 2 since I love spicy. Highly recommend, and I will be back!
