I was super nervous to get my hair cut since I moved down here. I had been seeing my previous hair stylist for as long as I can remember... I literally grew up with her! Since Matt Bradley Salon is on my way to the Hyde Park Studio, I thought I would give it a try. It looked nice from the outside! I was lucky enough to call today and get an appointment right away. I received highlights and a cut from Kara, who was very friendly. She did a very nice job with my hair, and I am a big fan! There are about 13 stylists, they do manicures/ pedicures, facials and waxing. Kara said all of stylists are Aveda trained. The only downside, it was pretty expensive for both the highlights and cut, a little more than I was expecting. You get what you pay for; that is for sure! read more

Matt Bradley is an incredible talent and an all around nice guy. Matt was able to fix my hair after bad color and a few bad cuts. (and... I WAS going to a big name salon in the area before coming to Matt!) My hair is easy to manage, always looks great, is healthy and best of all I get compliments all the time. It's important that the stylist knows how to cut different types of hair. Matt knows what to do. Trust him with your cut and color! You will not be disappointed! read more

I've gone to at least 8 different places in Cincinnati to get my hair cut. I've never been more pleased than I was with Melody at Matt Bradley Salon. She is not only super nice and fun to talk to but does an AMAZING job cutting hair. No one else has done a good job cutting a layered bob the way that I've described it. She was fantastic. I have been a client here for a couple of years now, but felt pretty disrespected the last time I went in. To be clear, this review is because of the customer service, not the quality of the haircuts/coloring. All haircuts and coloring I have received at Matt Bradley have been just fine and I have recommended them to friends and family in the past. Unfortunately, I went in for an appointment earlier this week and was told my stylist (I had seen her twice before) no longer worked there. The receptionist told me my stylist had left suddenly and that she didn't know what happened, but the book was cleared for her. The receptionist then told me she thought my stylist had been trying to contact her clients, that she was working at a salon down the road, and that I should try there. I asked if there were any walk-in appointments available and there were not. There was no additional explanation and no apology. When I went to the second salon, my stylist was there working with a customer. When she came over to me, she was apologetic, saying that she had tried to contact me but that, when you leave a salon suddenly, they don't give you access to your client information. She did not have an appointment available for me either, so I left without a service that I had waited seven weeks for and really needed. I am a working mother of two young children and had secured a babysitter (which don't come easily) especially for that appointment. Here's the thing: I've never worked in a salon and so don't really understand the politics of stylists comings and goings. My stylist may have had a very good reason for leaving, she may have been asked to leave; I have no idea. What I do know is that someone deleted my name out of that schedule without contacting me and seemingly without concern for whether or not I would be taken care of. I have been a customer at many salons and have never experienced anything like this, so I'm left thinking it was unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

I highly recommend Kara. I've been going to her for about 7 years and she is by far the best at color. I have very fragile hair. Extremely fine and she knows exactly how to treat it. She is very personable and always has a happy disposition. Love this place. read more

Kourtni did my hair yesterday before my engagement shoot and did an amazing job! She knew exactly what kind of color my hair needed, cut it perfectly, and even curled it for me a little when she heard I was getting pictures taken. I just had my hair highlighted/painted (whatever you want to call it) by Brandon. He did the best job, I am so happy with my experience! I've been hopping from salon to salon looking for someone to meet my expectations and have finally found a place where they've not only met but've exceeded them. I showed him a couple pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like, and he immediately knew that I was going for a cool/ash blonde tone and explained to me how we could achieve that look to avoid it turning warm/yellowish (huge concern of mine). I let him know that I'd like for the brown to still come through a little through the length and suggested lowlights be added (it's what I've been told needed to be done in the past at other salons) and he said that because I already have existing lowlights, we'd use those rather than add more. I've never had a stylist be patient enough to sift through and pull the lowlights to avoid coloring them. He foiled, he painted, he sorted...he did it efficiently. He was easy to talk to...he was accommodating...he gave me advice on how to keep my hair healthy and make the color last without pushing product. He shampooed nicely and before toning my hair, he asked to see the pictures I had showed him earlier again so he could mix up the toner just right. He blow-dried my hair and curled it...I loved it! I wish he could do that every day for me :) He did this all within a couple hours, too! It usually takes people over 3 hours to do my hair.
