When I got engaged, I knew that there was no one else that I would rather have photograph our wedding. I remember telling Brad early on that James and I weren't the kind of couple that would be into cutesy poses, but after the post-ceremony oxytocin kicks in, and Brad gives the direction for a gentle kiss on the forehead, you're all about it, and it feels perfectly natural. He will take advantage of the light, and weather to make sure you capture the most beautiful and romantic photos possible on your special day. Throughout the rest of the day, other than the obligatory posed photos, Brad is quietly doing his job, capturing both the ordinary and extraordinary moments with professionalism and skill beyond compare. My husband and I spent…read moremany hours researching and vetting different photographers, so our decision to hire Kevin was a careful one. We have no regrets and would hire him again in a second. Here's why: PRODUCT OUTPUT: Ultimately, what you care about most is the photographs that get produced, and Kevin's are of the highest quality. They are the perfect balance of art and beauty without being too dramatic and over the top. He's particularly good at capturing candids, which was a major reason we hired him. Several of my friends complimented his work when they saw our photos, and one friend even said that seeing our photos made her really regret her own wedding photographer choice. The album he made for us was gorgeous and really went above and beyond what I've seen in other albums. I have been so proud to show people our wedding photos, and that is thanks to Kevin. FLEXIBILITY: Outstanding. I had so many tiny little requests and Kevin readily accommodated every single one, from planning things beforehand to tinkering with the photos after. He was so patient with my frequent indecisiveness and when we took forever to pick photos for our album. I am pretty sure we actually exceeded the amount of time specified in the contract and he never gave us a hard time about it (or anything). RELIABILITY/FOLLOW THROUGH: Excellent. Every time we asked Kevin to do something, he did it, exactly as we'd asked. The peace of mind of knowing we could count on him was wonderful on our wedding day. He adhered to our schedule, made sure to capture all of the photos we had planned to take, and respected our requests when certain people asked not to be photographed, etc. COST: You get what you pay for. We found his rates to be comparable to other photographers of his quality (actually, his rates were less than some others we felt were of equal quality). He also doesn't nickel and dime you, which is great. He's very up front about how much everything costs and doesn't deviate from that. If anything, he gives you more than you pay for (like the slideshow you can send to friends and family!). COMMUNICATION: Pretty good. Sometimes he takes a few days to reply to emails, but nothing beyond the realm of what's reasonable, and I was no better, so I can't complain. When we first met him this made me a little nervous (because I didn't yet know how reliable he is), so if you have this experience, definitely don't hold it against him. PERSONABLENESS/PROFESSIONALISM: Awesome. Kevin is an easy-going guy that we found ourselves very comfortable with from the get-go. We met with three different photographers after whittling down our list, and although we liked all three, we both knew that Kevin was our guy after talking to him. He is very respectful and did an outstanding job of being unobtrusive during the wedding--we hardly noticed him (or his assistant) at all. He also made us feel very at ease throughout the entire planning process. We loved working with Kevin and can't recommend him enough!

We made our decision and gave Kate our deposit that very day, confident that we'd made the right choice for our photographer. It is important to note that, from this first meeting, Kate told us: The price for the package that we chose We would have full ownership of all the photographs that would be taken during our wedding We would get all our pictures 4-6 weeks after our ceremony We would receive 10-12 edited or touched up pictures, chosen from all the pictures, these would be the ones that they felt really 'popped' As our wedding approached, we received, signed and returned our contract, we met at our venue a week prior to the wedding and discussed specific shots, locations, etc. with Kate and when we parted ways, we were sure that we made the right choice in photographers. The day of our wedding, Kate and her assistant were all over the place, snapping picture after picture. Our sense was that they got all the shots that we asked for and in the locations that we asked. Later that night, we got a preview of 2 of the pictures when she posted them to her business' Facebook page. That was the last we would hear from Kate until 39 days later (3 days short of 6 weeks) when my wife sent an email asking when we would get a chance to see our pictures: "Hi Kate, I hope all is well with you! We were wondering when we would get the chance to look at our wedding pictures from 6/11? It's been almost 6 weeks and we are dying to see them! Please let me know when you get a chance. Talk to you soon! Thanks" Kate replied later that evening with: "Hi! Yes! I will be mailing them out in the next 10 days or so :) I'll be sure to send you the link to the gallery too!" 21 days passed and no attempt at communication was made by Kate, so I sent an email: "Kate, When can we expect our pictures? -M" It took a day for her to respond but when she did, we received this excuse: "Hi! I am so sorry for the delay - and my horrible communication the last 2 weeks. My time frame went from 1 month editing to 2 months time - which puts us at today. :) I will have a link to a gallery tonight for you - when I arrive home. And I will be providing tracking by Monday for your flash drive of photos! Again - terribly sorry for the delay on my part! Talk to you soon! :)" This was the first time we'd heard from Kate and she tried to laugh off a 4 week change to the schedule with no advanced warning or communication. She missed that fact that it had been 3 weeks, not 2 since she made her first empty promise. Her cavalier attitude was off-putting but we really wanted our pictures so we waited to see what she would do. Later that night, we received an email with a link to a Google Drive containing our photos. The first thing we noted was the woefully small number of pictures. Then, we saw that there were only 3 files that weren't time-stamped with the date of our wedding, indicating that there were only 3 files that might have been edited. Over the next 2 days, 6 emails were exchanged concerning the lack of quantity of pictures and the lack of specific pictures that we knew were taken. When all was said and done, we received roughly 850 photographs and none of the promised 'edited' or 'touched up' photos. If any of these photos were touched up, we couldn't tell and the time stamps all either matched the date of the wedding or the date of the uploads, there was no evidence of any sort of artistic retouching of any of them, except for one image that was, again, posted on her business' Facebook page. The pictures of our family have the subjects looking at different cameras. Kate and her assistant stood next to each other during these pictures, ostensibly to maximize the number of pictures. The end result are lots of pictures that are useless because the subjects were never told where to look by the photographers. This shows a distinct lack of experience and attention to detail, the latter of which should be a photographers number one trait. We never received the promised tracking number OR the actual flash drive itself. We have no idea if we have all our photos, we have no idea what the status of the drive is, and truthfully, at this point, we have given up the hope that we will. In fact, at this point, 81 days (11.5 weeks) later, TWICE what we were promised, I don't want to hear any more excuses or lies from Kate. Kate has shown that her business ethics and acumen are severely lacking. She took our money and only delivered on some of her promises when directly confronted and prompted. Even then, she made promises that she failed to follow through on. I am disappointed that we invested in Kate and trusted her to deliver. I am offended that she explained away a 4 week slip in schedule and lack of communication with a dismissive smiley face. That nonc

I guess what comes standard is the wedding party pics, bride and groom, family etc. The shots are usually done by a photographer that has shot the same photos for every customer over and over again. For an artist/photographer that type of repetitious drudgery is soul squashing. Which means your photos won't have much gusto to them. My wife picked Ryan after requesting to her uncle, a professional photographer, that she wanted someone to shoot "edgy candids" Ryan over delivered in every regard. He immersed himself into the characters of the day and shot great portraits of everyone at the wedding. He was humorus and just about everywhere shooting his stylistic pictures. After I posted a bunch of his shots pn facebook, we received a flood of compliments on his work. We ended up with nearly 1400 shots, a wedding photo album, the images on CD all within 3 weeks post-wedding. They had previsouly been posted on his website shortly after the wedding. I had never met Ryan before the wedding and neither had Alycia but he happily devoted his day (missing a big NHL game that he would of been paid more money to photograph). I can't recommend Ryan highly enough.

Now, we've had our fair share of photo booth experiences considering I come from a large family with lots of weddings and we, like most, enjoy a good goofy photo strip from time to time. Things I noticed stood out most from this booth than others: 1. Standing room. Sitting in a photo booth is double chin city! You can get much more creative in your poses while standing, i.e. the classic prom pose (picture will be provided) or the more common "Charlie's Angels" 2. It seems to take up much less space. Not an eyesore in your event! 3. The props were, simply put, better. I've never seen a batman mask as an accessory! There was the classic spread as well, of course, with boas and silly glasses, but it was more organized and cleaner than your average setup. 4. Lastly, and most importantly, I looked great in my photo. Have you ever done a photo booth at an arcade? You shouldn't. Because you'll look horrible no matter who you are. The quality of the photos was far superior to any photo booth I've used in the past- and I'm the girl that seeks them out. Your wedding (and other events) should be fun!
