    Crab salad

This was a recommendation from others that had traveled to Dublin. The restaurant was fine for what we needed. There were 6 of us and we were seated in a booth with a small table that felt like it would've better fit 3-4 people. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The food was good, but nothing too special. We enjoyed the lobster arancini appetizer. The fish and chips was good, but high price for what you get. Overall, a fine meal but nothing too special write home about

Nice place about a 20 minute walk from the river in Dublin. We went after a tour of Trinity College. The service was wonderful and the drink selection was great. Definitely a great place to go if you are looking for a cocktail or wine instead of a pint, although they still had a great draft selection. The real reason I wanted to come was for the crock of mussels though. They were awesome with a great flavor. The garlic bread was crisp and perfect to dip. The fish and chips were good too, but the mussels were great!

    Linguini was very good

The food was very good. The design and overall vibe was very nice and classy. We enjoyed excellent service. My linguini was good but not one of the best. Could have used more shellfish.

Interior with a lovely area with books and bookshelves.

What a lovely restaurant for our last night in Dublin! The interior has great decor and a wonderful vibe, with an area of tables and bookshelves I wanted to sit in for an entire afternoon. Our server was fun and funny, and took good care of us. The food was very good; I had a burger, which was excellent. The fries/chips were fine. Someone else had the Salade Nicoise with tuna; the eggs were a gorgeous golden color. Save room for dessert! We shared a mixed berry crumble with ice cream and it was excellent. Would definitely return my next time in Dublin!

Grilled oysters are a must have
    Dawn V.

If you're an oyster fan, this grilled plate is like no other and a must-try when in Dublin Just a short walk from the park, there's a bit of outside seating and a beautifully bright and inviting interior I also had the fish/chips and brown bread, also very good but I was swept away by the oyster plate. I've had plenty of grilled oysters in New Orleans, but I suppose we just haven't gotten that creative yet- these are very special

The food was good. We were tired of the Irish pub food so we decided to pop in here for a nice meal. Gave us a break from fried and stewed food. Food was fresh and came out pretty quick. We got the two special of the day and they were both very filling. The fish was fresh and not dry. Tried the dessert and it was decent. Nothing too special. Inside was classy and clean. They had nice music playing and bright lighting. Service was a little weird. The host was kind and very welcoming. Our server was not that. She was very rude and unkind. She paid no attention to us. Threw menus at us as well as our receipt when we paid.

    Weekend afternoon jazz band 2-5pm
    Zhicao F.

Checked in this Sunday afternoon for the live jazz music from 2 to 5 pm every weekend. Bartender was very friendly, and I got to taste several Irish whiskey. Also tasted the house fish chowder. The chowder was well made, warm and creamy with delicate taste of potato flour cream and pleasantly spicy seasoning. Also came with a generous portion of fish fillets that tasted very well. The waitress advised to add a touch of lemon juice to the chowder, and it worked very well. The lemon zest balanced against the heavy and savory taste of chowder. Very pleasant experience overall.

Went there for dinner and decided on 'Catch of the day' which was monkfish. It was lovely and service was great! Great place for seafood!

This place was fantastic. The ambiance was loud but in a good way, people talking about how delicious their food tasted or about the wine they are drinking. .... We had the chowder soup - tasty Mussels - Fantastic Pear salad - Tasty Fish and Chips - it wasn't bad, it was my first time having it cooked this way. It wasn't dry so that was a plus.

Scampi chips, crab claws, beet salad are my faves. If Ivan is working, ask to be sat at one of his tables- he's the best.

Our first meal in Dublin was at The Old Mill Restaurant, right in the heart of Temple Bar. It's been serving traditional Irish fare since the 1980s and has become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for classic comfort food. After about a 20-minute wait, we were seated in the warm, inviting dining room. Susan ordered the mussels, one of her favorites, while I went with the Traditional Irish Stew and my daughter chose the Braised Beef & Guinness Stew. Both were exactly what we hoped for: hearty, flavorful, and perfect after a day of sightseeing. I finally understood why the Guinness stew had such a rich, dark color, and I have to admit, I came home a big fan of Irish stew. We finished with the Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding topped with fresh cream and custard, a comforting dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Service, atmosphere, value, and food were all five out of five. We also enjoyed chatting with the floor manager, whose pride in the restaurant and his team was obvious. That kind of hospitality made a great meal even more memorable.

We asked about the soup flavor & they offered a taste and brought out a huge sample boat. Super cool. I got the cottage pie lunch portion, which is more than I could barely eat. It came with a boat of the sauce /and gravy and meat. Wife got the fish and chips... The fillet was longer than the plate and it came with a mountain of fries, both delicious. Daughter got the creamy vegetable soup and chips. She loved it but couldn't even finish half. All the portions were very generous, nobody finished their meal, too bad we couldn't have taken it back to our hotel. Server was great & funny. Love this place.

The smoked almonds are delightful and the 0% alc pale ale was a lovely companion to the F&C. My plate had a healthy portion of both fish and chips and I even left some chips behind but one person in my group took to soaking her chips in the amazing malt vinegar provided. I had to go double duty, first splashing chips and fish with vinegar AND then going in hard on the tartar. Why leave chips behind? I ran out of tartar sauce! I made a reservation & arrived perfectly on time, just to find out ... I made the reservation for the wrong day. Fish Shop was fully booked out (& it's a small place!) so they could not accommodate me. I had to leave. I actually cried outside on the street. Gluten-free fish & chips is a big deal to me! So in 2026, I made a reservation for myself FAR in advance & made absolute certain that it was the CORRECT day. I did hold my breath just a little bit when I arrived, but I was good to go. The shop is tight - not a lot of room to move around. Unfortunately I was seated right by the door, so every time someone came in or out, I was blasted by cold air. I forgive. I ordered a skin contact Austrian wine & haddock fish & chips (gluten free, of course) & it all came out in a reasonable time. Everything was just spectacular. The fish was crispy, flaky, & perfectly done. The fries were thick & the malt vinegar was strong. The wine was weird & a perfect pairing. I really wish this spot wasn't across the ocean from me. I'll certainly be back every time I'm in the city.
