Imagine the excitement of your daughter's wedding day! A day you have dreamed of since she was a little girl. The hair and makeup team arrive for the big day. They were there to do the hair/makeup of eleven of us. The services were required to be pre-paid which we made sure was done. I kindly asked that the makeup/hair team wear a mask when working on my younger daughter and myself because we are immuno-compromised. They flatly refused. After explaining the medical reason for the request and providing masks we were told "I refuse to wear a mask." As the mother and sister (and maid of honor) we were devastated not to be able to get the services we paid for. We scrambled to put ourselves together as to not ruin my daughter's special day. I hope this post can help another person avoid an anti customer business. If they could not honor the simple request that protects a customer's health and safety they are not a business anyone should deal with.

I requested a trial with the understanding that she was available to do my makeup for the date of my wedding. She checked her calendar and assured me she was available. I live in another state, so this was my one day in Stroudsburg to do my trial. Literally less than a week later (after I've flown home and cannot do a trial with anyone else) she cancels on me to say she is flying to Aruba! You didn't know you were flying to Aruba 6 days ago!?! You just did my trial to take $85 of my money!! Now, when I call her, it goes straight to voicemail. But her cancellation text said, "Don't worry I have a friend who can take you." Yeah, that friend (Tara Matos) charges over $200!! Also, that friend tried to pawn me off on another stylist the first time I spoke to her. No, thank you. As to her skill, Monica has good technique, but she is obviously a one trick pony. Just check her Instagram. No regard for peoples varying facial features or levels of glam. Huge false strip lashes on everyone (that started coming off on me at the inner corners within an hour). Avoid this makeup artist at all costs!!

For my wedding I knew I wanted to get my makeup done professionally because; 1) I'm a crier and needed to make sure my eyes didn't show it, and 2) I sweat ridiculously and needed to hide 'the shiny' for pictures. I don't wear a lot of make up to begin with, so the few times I have gotten it done, I have hated it because it never looked like me. I looked like a gazillion other people and by the end of the night, it's always a disaster. I went for a trial somewhere else and was so disappointed because I told the girl that I don' like a lot of make up and again, she did the same make up job everyone gets. Carmen was referred to me by my photographer. She said, Carmen is great and her make up jobs are perfect for accenting your features. I did my trial with here and she was so different and really paid attention to all my facial features. I am so happy I took her advice!!! My new husband (who hates make up) loved it!!! My issues; 1) I didn't cry, but I am 100% certain nobody would have know and 2) I did sweat, ALOT. From the ceremony to the end of the reception and not once did I have shiny face! Even in pictures people took with there phones at 3 in the morning...looks like I just walked out of the salon! You can't go wrong with Carmen :) Plus, she makes it fun!I have been wanting to try bikini waxing for some time, but wasn't really sure where to go. I tried one place at the beginning of the summer and it didn't go as I thought it would and the results were not what I was expecting. The pain, yes, but the results....not so much. I couldn't imagine why people would prefer waxing with those results. It's an uncomfortable thing to discuss anyways, but after my experience but after meeting with when she did my make up for my wedding, I was very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism she showed as an aesthetician. I decided I would talk with her about bikini waxing and get an idea of what to expect. She was so comfortable to talk to and now I know why this is preferred. Yes, it hurt, but she prepares your skin for the wax so it's smoother, she is quick and very thorough. Gave me instructions for the day to prevent pain and infection and we set up my next appointment. I am more than satisfied and am looking forward to summer even more now!
