I love this dentist! I have been coming here for two years now and they are always so friendly but…read morethe best thing is that I trust them. Not once have they told me oh this and that is wrong with your teeth, we have to do this and that will cost blah blah blah. Every time I have come in for a cleaning and checkup they have complimented me on my teeth and said it all looks good see you in 6 months! Now that makes me happy! Plus they have a treasure chest and you get to pick a prize, yes, even as an adult!

They offered services to me without telling me that it is not covered by my insurance and did not quote for me that it would cost extra. I have several thousand dollars' worth of what I believe to be unneeded services that I now have to pay for. I asked for a statement of the services they provided my family and the itemized statement I received is impossible to decipher without having a working knowledge of dental codes, so it's a whole lot of work for me to identify what I am being charged for. I think that Carus Dental's lack of transparency means something. In addition, I ask for a pre-certification for an additional crown that the practice was recommending. I asked, because on the first crown they did for me this year they told me that according to my insurance, I would pay $100. Not even close. They told me, again, that according to my insurance I would pay $100 for this new crown. I insisted I needed this pre-certified. They told me that pre-certifications take up to five weeks. So, I say okay, I can wait. Did they ever get the precertification for me? No. I believe that the tooth was not in need of a crown, at this time, and therefore insurance was not going to approve. OR, maybe, Carus Dental does not want to do business with someone they can no longer up-sale.

I've struggled with significant dental phobia for years, due to difficulty getting properly numbed, so going to the dentist has always been stressful for me. Dr. Rhodes approached my situation with true compassion and zero judgment, taking the time to listen to my concerns and clearly explain every step of the process. We decided on conscious sedation to replace two crowns, and it was an incredibly relieving experience. Although I was technically awake, I don't remember any of the procedure at all--which was exactly what I needed. The entire process was managed smoothly and professionally from beginning to end. I felt safe, supported, and confident in the quality of care I was receiving. If you have dental anxiety or have avoided treatment out of fear, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Rhodes and Vista Dental. Their combination of skill, empathy, and patient-centered care truly makes all the difference.

My experience with this dental office was extremely disappointing from start to finish…read more I initially went in for a routine cleaning and later had my very first cavity filled. Even during my cleaning, I noticed a lack of attention to detail. The dental assistant only flossed my front teeth and did not floss the rest of my mouth, which left me questioning the quality of care I was receiving. When I had my cavity filled, I experienced extreme pain during the procedure. I assumed some discomfort was normal since it was my first filling, but the pain continued after my appointment. When it didn't improve, I returned to the office to have the tooth evaluated. The dentist was unable to determine the cause. The filling was redone, but I was never given a clear explanation for why I was still in so much pain. About a week later, because the pain persisted, I sought a second opinion from another dental office. After examining the tooth and taking X-rays, they informed me that the filling had gaps in it and needed to be completely replaced. I was extremely frustrated to learn that the original filling had not been done properly. My insurance would not cover the replacement, leaving me responsible for paying for the procedure. After learning this, I attempted to contact the office to discuss what had happened and find a resolution. Unfortunately, my calls have not been returned, which has only added to my frustration. My concerns were not properly addressed when I returned with ongoing pain, I ultimately had to seek treatment elsewhere to have the problem correctly diagnosed and fixed, and now I have been left with additional out-of-pocket expenses and no response from the office. Between the incomplete cleaning, the extreme pain I experienced during the filling, the defective filling, the additional cost to have it corrected, and the lack of communication afterward, this has been an incredibly disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this office.

I did not receive any subsequent messages so assumed that they were open today. I got there and nobody was there. I wasted my time in an already hectic life because of their incompetence. This was their exact message, "At this time, we plan on being open normal business hours on Tuesday. Should there be any changes, we will contact you as soon as possible. We hope to see you soon!" I swear, a dental student would be more professional and MUCH cheaper.

Seriously, the only time I would go to the dentist was when I had a problem. This led me to Old Settlers several years ago where I met Dr. Zavala. He fixed me up, brought me back for a cleaning etc. He recommended a deep cleaning. I didn't return. I think that was in 2016/17. I developed another problem. I think this time it was a cavity. Maybe a root canal. So I went back. Dr. Zavala and his team (shout out to Jessica) really came down to my adolescent level and worked with me. Dr. Zavala has excellent bedside manner. He talked me through everything he did and made sure I had enough numbing in the gums so I wouldn't feel anything. I went back for the deep cleaning. He numbed me up for the initial clean. One hour per side which took two visits. It was a challenge for me as I can't sit still that long, but, they were awesome and got me through it. So now it's routine visits every four months with tooth cleaner extraordinaire Jessica. I've just completed my second cleaning, and, I take it like a real grown up. I'm no longer that scared little boy. I've turned twelve, and, the world is amazing.
