This Dentist and his office are very dishonest. they lie about coverage to get you to agree to services you do not need and then try to negotiate with you after. they also refuse to communicate with you after and are extremely rude if you don't agree with them. I would not recommend to anyone. They will never admit when they have made a mistake or take responsibility. Terrible communication. I would not recommend. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Wrongfully billed. I moved out of Texas in 2023 and have not gone to Carus Dental since summer of 2023. As of yesterday I received an odd e-billing statement via email asking for $109. First of all, I had a not so good experience at Carus Dental in 2023 as they were selling me products during my visits. Very very uncomfortable experience. Then I moved out of state. I phoned Carus dental yesterday to inquire as to why I was billed for this when I have not set foot in their clinic for the past two years!? The staff who answered the phone told me that someone will give me a call today. All day went by and no one from Carus Dental called me to explain to me why they charged me $109 when I have not even set food in their business. Very disappointing experience. I provided my insurance info when booking and was told it would be verified--but it wasn't. The person on the phone was also very rude. I had to give my info again, follow up multiple times, and still arrived at the appointment to find it hadn't been verified. I waited 30 minutes, only to be told they didn't have enough time to do a cleaning and I'd need to come back. When I asked to reschedule, they said Saturdays were booked until August and made no effort to accommodate--despite the fact that the delays were their fault. Total waste of time. Extremely Disappointing Experience - Twice I'm writing this review after enduring two frustrating and unprofessional experiences at Carus Dental Round Rock. First Visit (July): I clearly indicated that my insurance covers fluoride treatment. Despite this, I was told it wasn't covered and had to insist multiple times before they finally verified it--only to confirm that it was indeed covered. On the same day, I was charged for another service that should have been covered, but I paid it just to avoid further hassle. Second Visit(September): I proactively called ahead to confirm what my insurance would cover. Despite calling twice, I received no callback or clarification. I wasn't given procedure codes to verify coverage myself. I was quoted $240 for a treatment plan and scheduled an appointment based on that. But when I arrived, I was told the same treatment would cost $480. I had to show the original paperwork to prove the quoted amount. If I hadn't kept that document, I would've been overcharged again. This wasted another 40 minutes of my time. Summary: This office demonstrates a lack of professionalism and ethical standards. The staff is unresponsive, inconsistent, and dismissive of patient concerns. I do not recommend this facility to anyone. If you value transparency and respect, stay away from Carus Dental Round Rock. read more

Dr. Ramirez' staff would NOT let me have a follow up appointment after I became lost trying to find their office. I was referred to Dr. Ramirez by Carus Dental near me. I love this dentist! I have been coming here for two years now and they are always so friendly but the best thing is that I trust them. Not once have they told me oh this and that is wrong with your teeth, we have to do this and that will cost blah blah blah. when i came for my first cleaning i strongly disliked dentists and even going to the dentist freaked me out but Dr.Jett made things so much easier. I have been frustrated multiple times with this dental office. The first time I scheduled an appointment here, they called me 20 minutes before my appointment started to tell me they couldn't see me. I had already taken the day off of work just for this appointment, which as a teacher, is extremely difficult to do. I have seen Dr. Tahiri multiple times this year and each time it has felt that she's there strictly for business, not for patient care. She has been kind and helpful, but overall seems more concerned with getting her patients in and out rather than caring for them. Most of my appointments with her have only taken 10-15 minutes, most of which have involved telling me the treatment that I need, but that she can't do it, another office needs to do it. Essentially a huge waste of time and gas, these things should be done virtually if that's really how the appointment is gonna go. There has also been quite a bit of miscommunication with this office. Most of the workers are nice enough, but almost nobody working there seems sincere. read more

I have been with Carus Dental for over 20 years (even before they were Carus) and they have been consistently excellent both in the general dental office and the Surgical Center. Dr Haria is very courterous, skillful and caring. He always explains the treatment thoroughly and carries out the processes painlessly. The hygenists and dental assistants are equally considerate and capable. In the surgical center I have been helped by both Dr Ramirez (root canals) and Dr Olabode, for extractions and implants. They are both a pleasure to visit and all of my procedures have been painless (who would have said that about a dental visit ?!) Again these two doctors are both very knowledgable, extremely competent and very thoughtful. Avish Haria is the best dentist I have encountered in the ATX area. He is personable, shows concern, explains everything thoroughly and does great dental work. I always thought he was easy on the eyes too which makes me feel even more comfortable, lol. I hadn't seen him since 2015 and some things and people have changed in the office. The Monday I went could have just been off because I had to change rooms and it seemed like I had to wait unusually longer then normal for the hygienist. There wasn't a smooth transition from one thing to the next like in the past. I remember the last time I was there, it was a very smooth and quick process. Maybe me too time will be better. I woke up with some swelling and irritation. I am uninsured but set an appointment with a dentist at carus dental off of renfert way. She was open and great bedside manner. She was unsure of making a definite diagnosis, referring me to a specialist. No big deal there is a process to these things. Specialist responds quickly after a holiday and i am seen the next day. The provider Juan Ramirez does his consult which is sharing a lot of dental language im not understanding but I do get that he wants a more in depth X-ray. The dental assistant walks in to talk about my treatment plan, and this is where im informed on lamen terms I need a root canal. I never wanted a root canal, I just wanted the tooth pulled, I was never consulted on the advantages of getting a root canal or any options of that matter. I was told by a dentist that my symptoms did not completely correlate to my localized issue and it's probably because of all the meds your taking!! Then after sharing my choice to the dental assistant who was very sweet btw. I was immediately rushed back to the front to pay and what I thought a referral to someone else. I am being told by the front desk that we are the surgical center but you must come back and see another doctor for another consult for wanting to get the tooth pulled!!! Like I wasted my time and money to not have any option or say in my dental care. I am extremely upset that I was just completely disregarded. I am a single mother, student, and employee trying to take care of something that is causing a lot of discomfort in my daily life to only be taken advantage of. I felt like since my appointment was cut short, I made the trip, and in pain. The other provider could of seen me, did they even ask or try to accommodate me? Unfortunately I don't have insurance and have already invested a lot into this practice I don't have much choice but to keep at it. A one stop shop for dental care ! (Dental, ortho, and surgical) I came in as a first time patient & was able to get a quick and easy assessment of my dental needs. They even took the time to explain (and sometimes reexplain) to make sure I understood everything the doctor was saying. I even got some work done after my consultation, they were happy to squeeze me in! Dr. Hoffman is super kind and knows what the heck is taking about. I was looking for dentist and made an appointment with Dr. Haria for my general dental check up. Surprisingly, my appointment was transferred to Dr. Asher without letting me know. So when I never met Dr. Haria when I went to the clinic. Since my insurance pays for a free checkup and basic cleaning, Dr. Asher declined to clean my teeth and suggested to come back for a deep cleaning. Hmm, strange but ok acceptable. After my X-rays I was referred to their surgeon to pull out my wisdom teeth, when I told them that I have no pain whatsoever. Dr. Asher said that it'll be a problem in the future, maybe? I have been contacted by the surgeon's office. Their receptionist Kris has no idea, maybe she messed up my appointment but I have no idea. I was supposed to receive an email with few forms from her to sign which I never got. I had to find a new dentist for my son because his previous dentist stopped taking my insurance. I really wanted to like this place. The office staff is amazing. My issue is with how they bill. I have insurance and they were in-network. I took my son who has had consistent dental care for years for a routine check-up. They "coded" him as at-risk and told me he needed a deeper cleaning. I agreed not knowing that it would cost me an additional $215. Yes, that was after my insurance. It was really disheartening and frustrating. I called before his second routine cleaning to confirm I would not be charged like this again and was told it would be unknown until they did another assessment of his teeth. I am left feeling like it was a money grab. If you don't mind not knowing how much you will have to pay for a cleaning this is your place. read more

I've been coming to Carus Dental my entire life. Dr. Haria and the dental hygienist Heather are amazing! Unfortunately, I came in for my (rescheduled, by their choice) cleaning this morning at 8:00 AM. They were 12 minutes late and someone who is not my hygienist appeared. I said I see Heather and that I was unhappy that no one told me my provider was not available and moved locations (still the same company). I expressed my dissatisfaction, but reluctantly agreed to get serviced. They told me that they no longer wanted to service me because I was not happy!!! What?!?! They asked me to reschedule. HARD NO! They disrespected my time and right to decide whether to see a different provider than usual. So not only did they change my provider without telling me, but now their feelings got hurt because I explained how unacceptable this was. I'll need to find a new practice at this point, and what a shame. Dr. Haria deserves respectful office staff to treat his longtime patients with care. read more

I've waited to submit a review of Carus Dental - Round Rock until I had time to sit with my dental procedures. Over the last year or two, I've had an extensive treatment plan (due to lack of going to dentists for years) and after multiple visits (at least 6) and multiple procedures, I feel confident in reporting that the level of quality and the level of service has been exceptional. After going to Carus Surgery for a periodontal evaluation with Dr. Tahiri I received an email asking me to rate my visit. I gave the center 2 stars and stated a few things that had happened during my visit. One is that the person doing my x-rays had a lot of trouble positioning the films, had to take them multiple times, and at one point hit me in the head with the arm of the x-ray machine. After that, Dr. Tahiri came in and spoke to me, recommending a course of treatment. She was cold and impersonal, and so in my review I stated that she did not have much of a chair side manner. On the way out, the insurance person said that she had checked my insurance and that I was not covered. I explained to her that my insurance had been in effect with the same company for 10 years, and that I should be covered. Upon returning home I was quickly able to ascertain that I should be covered. I called and left a message for which I did not receive a call back. That's pretty much the gist of my review. I then received a call from the manager asking for details. A few days later she called and cancelled my next appointment. After waiting a couple of months for my appointment, and then a couple of weeks beyond that for my treatment to begin, I feel that Carus was very unprofessional in cancelling my appointment. It was never stated that in return for an honest review I would be rataliated against. My review was not even scathing; it was just matter-of-fact relating what happened that day. During my appointment and during my conversation with the manager, I was polite. I thought reviews requested by a company were done in an attempt to improve their customer service level. I never realized that by posting a review it would be used against me. Lesson learned! read more

I am a 36 year old man when I was referred to Carus Round Rock location to have all 3 of my wisdom teeth removed. Up to the appointment and even during the consult I felt like a child. I was scared and nervous and had a lot of questions and concerns. The staff and Dr Griffin were able to answer all my questions, provide some comfort and confidence that helped me get through the procedure. I highly recommend this place to anyone! Please go there. The VA sent me to an outside dental agency. So, I had a tooth break. The last few days It hurt so bad. Was suppose to have a cleaning done today instead I asked if I could get the root canal done. I've been going to Carus Dental since 2012 and I've had 4 different insurance policies during that time, with Carus being in network for each one (yay!). Dr. Haria has been my dentist for the entire time and he is great. Super attentive and doesn't mind answering my silly questions about gum disease and which tooth is which. He also helps me feel very comfortable during procedures (I've had a few crowns and some fillings with him). The dental hygienist staff has been wonderful and for the last year or two, I've been seeing a young lady named Heather Graham (yes, Heather Graham). She is a hoot and also helps me feel comfortable during the cleaning process. Additionally, she is VERY knowledgeable about dental health and enjoys discussing the science behind it all, which I find interesting. I have't formed a relationship with the front desk staff, but my experience with them has always been positive! My appointments are easy to schedule and change and they are very good about calling to confirm. The check-out process has also been quick and easy the entire time. The staff is doing a great job of adapting to COVID guidelines and I feel totally safe going there. Keep up the good work! read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! They see you as a potential client from whom they can extract as much money as possible. Although they will pretend that they are ethical and they care for your dental health but you are no more than a customer to them. I went there for a regular (annual) dental cleaning as I was nearing year-end and wanted to make use of insurance benefits. They took X-rays and were fine with regular cleaning diagnoses until I told them that I got deep cleaning done last year. They kind of forced me to go for deep cleaning which and they gave me the amount it will cost. They did half mouth on one day and told me to make another appointment for the rest half. I moved my travel plans to get their appointment this year and got deep cleaning done. However, before they started any procedure they told me that I have to sign some dental procedure plan for future maintenance perspective and appointment and I was given a digital pad to sign while I was on the dental chair. Later when it was time for payment that amount was 200% higher than the initial estimate and when I asked the reason they told me that you have signed up for that. I felt CHEATED /RIPPED OFF. Don't go with them even if you do make sure that you know what they will be charging you for. Every penny counts. read more

Upon entering the reception area I was greeted by a smile from Ms. Maria which made me feel very welcomed. I had the pleasure to be assisted by Dr. Hoffman and I'm so glad I was helped by this specific dentist, who explained all procedures and the importance of a healthy smile. I have not been to a dental office in about 20 years due to fears, Dr. Hoffman eased my soul and guided me on the right path.
