It was totally without intent that I booked with Susan, but so very pleased that I did. Her work is quite frankly exceptional. I went with a specific issue, gave Susan my history, information from my doctor and she got to work. I was so impressed with my initial visit that I booked another appointment for two weeks later. Since then, I have been going every other week, my doctor has seen a noticeable difference in my condition. Thrilled that Susan listened and had the expertise to help. Clearly her education and experience go beyond what one might consider in a traditional masseuse. It's interesting as the patient, to tell her what's going on, see how she approaches the situation and works the problem. She totally gets how everything is totally interrelated. As someone who's received rolfing for close to 30 years, this form of myofascial release massage was a wonderful blend of rolfing and massage. I could feel my fascia release several times throughout the massage and I'm excited to regularly incorporate this type of therapy into my massage treatments! I also saw Isata recently for a craniosacral massage and it was also amazing! It was so good that while I was on the table I thought to myself I must have paid for a 90 minute massage because it felt like I had been there for that long, but it was only 60 minutes! Lol. I've been struggling with neck and head tension that's affecting cranial nerves and this massage definitely helped. Headed back this weekend for a follow up! 2023: I went to see Sam when I was having serious shoulder and neck tightness that was causing tension headaches. She was great! She used the perfect amount of pressure and deep tissue therapy while also not making it too painful. A skill that is sometimes hard to come by. But I had to get on here and leave a good review because of my experience with the staff at Anjou Spa. We were on our way to Bend from California early Saturday morning and 2 hours into our drive we hit a deer that ran right front of us at 70+ mph totaling out car. After making sure everyone was ok and we contacted insurance and tow company one of the first things I thought of was the air bnb and massages at a spa we booked and paid for. I also work as a cosmetologist at a salon and spa so I immediately wanted to let the spa know we weren't gonna be able to make it as soon as possible. The reception Was very understanding and checked to make sure we were all ok and apologized that it happened to us and so graciously (without argument ) refunded our "non refundable" deposit. They definitely did NOT have to do that as i agreed to the deposit and the salons terms and completely understand since I am I service provider myself who works at a salon that also enforces a cancellation policy. Their compassion for our situation was truly amazing and I am very grateful for their understanding and willingness to refund our deposit making our situation a little less painful.. I will absolutely be happy to book With them again in the near future when we can finally make it to bend. Top tier customer service and we are so appreciative. Thank you Anjou Spa! See you soon
