I followed my stylist to a different salon. It seems like the best people left this place. There must be a reason.

I started out with Azeza, and when she left, I switched to Ruth, who is awesome.

When I set the appt I asked for Taryn as that was who I was recommended to. She is a curly specialist and WOW was she knowledgeable. Overall my experience with her was top notch. Taryn gave me an overview of what would happen during the appointing and has a big focus on client education. She walked me through every step and every product. Note: I am sensitive to scents due to having migraines and she was so respectful of this. Taryn had me smell the hairbath and conditioner to make sure it was not too strong before we even started. Taryn told me about the products and how and why you use them including the order and what they do for you. She educated me on how to get your curls looking your best. Overall, if you have curly or wavy hair and want to know how to take care of it and what it could look like at its best - GO HERE NOW! The education alone is worth every dollar!!! Sadly for me I learned 2 things I didn't anticipate: 1) I have a natural swirly in the back of head that will just kinda have a bald spot, its not just the way I style it 2) I was apparently already doing a fairly decent job, though Taryn did take my curls up a notch :)

Pros- decent haircut, super friendly stylist with AMAZING product knowledge. Cons - my haircut and deep condition took over FOUR hours!! She began my apt right before 4pm and I didn't leave till 8:30. While it's clear that Victoria knows curly hair like the back of her hand (and IS the curl care expert), a four hour haircut isn't an awesome sounding time commitment for anyone. I booked a follow up appointment for a few months from now - hopefully this time it won't be so time consuming!

A simple courtesy acknowledgement that I am there waiting or a text that he's behind would be client friendly but he has never ever done that. I've waited up to one hour frequently with no apology. It's unreal. Maybe that's why he sold the business- either the games made him enough money to retire or the games hit his business hard enough he had to. FYI-the new owners price list is 1/2 of Salon Prive's!

The guy used too much mousse, it wasn't what I wanted, and it was over $100!!! I've been growing my hair out but by bit for the last three years and thought nervously that it was time for a chop. I had pictures ready and everything, but when I saw her, I just gave her an idea. Medium length, highlights my eyes and waves, with volume and minimal styling. GUYS. It was only $60 and considering the look of the place I thought it was gonna be so much higher. She washed my hair, cut it with absolute precision for a whole hour, made wonderful conversation, stayed past closing time to style and blow dry it, and she DESERVED that tip I gave her. Wow. After doing a Bing search for…read morenearby nail salons (for my travel companion) and hair salons (for me) that were close together and were actually open on a Sunday I found MasterCuts in the West County Mall. I called earlier in the day to see about a simple shampoo and blow-out/style and got a 3:00 pm appointment. When I got there the two gals were running late, and I had to wait a half hour before getting a chair. I was a little perturbed by that, but understood. Ashley was my stylist. And when she started my shampooing any irritation from waiting went away entirely. Wow! Her fingers were like heaven! The actual blowout was spectacular, too. I've traveled all over the world and have been to all sorts of salons, and many times it's taken two people to get me out in an hour. But Ashley was a master and not only got me on my way within 40 minutes but did a beautiful job, AND it only cost $20. I was so impressed with her I made my appointment for next month when I'll be back. (She's only there on Sundays.) Ashley rocks!

Let me give a little background. When I was little, my mom always took me to walk in haircut…read moreplaces like Great Clips. I always received horribly inconsistent haircuts and usually ended up looking like an idiot for a couple days after. You see, my hair is incredibly thin and straight as an arrow. In order for my hair to lie down and act correctly, it has to be kept relatively long. Otherwise, it sticks straight up and can not be tamed no matter how much gel, hairspray, or other products I use. Fast forward to me as an adult. I no longer trust my hair to just anyone. I have a handful of people that I trust to cut my hair correctly. That was until I had a couple of great experiences at Great Clips in downtown St. Louis. My hair was cut the same way each time and always turned out well. This was probably my downfall... When I needed a quick cut about a month ago for a business meeting the same day, I didn't have the option to go to any of my regular places. I really needed a haircut immediately so I threw caution to the wind and went to Mastercuts in West County Mall. I was clear with the stylist that my hair would stand straight up if cut too short. I told her to just take a little of the length off. I should have realized that something was seriously wrong when I saw large volumes of long strands of hair falling into my lap, but I didn't realize there was a serious problem immediately. When she was done, I noticed that my hair was short. I mean "can see my scalp" really short. The next morning after washing it, it would not stay down no matter how much gel I applied. I seriously considered shaving my head or buzzing it close, but my friends and coworkers talked me out of it. Each one said it would grow out in a few weeks. Flash forward to a month later... My hair is finally getting to the length that she should have cut it to in the first place and I will never return to this store. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the stylist, but I'm not sure I really want to remember at this point.

I wanted a refreshed new look, and Dominic Michael gave me exactly that and more. Booking my appointment online was super easy. They had lots of time slots to choose from. I showed up to my appointment, checked in at the counter, and not long after, Gena gave me a warm greeting. The inside of the salon is super clean and welcoming. I appreciated how the floors were constantly getting swept throughout the time I was there. I'm indecisive about most things, including my hair, but Gena was very patient with me and helped me narrow down what I want. We decided to do highlights and a haircut. I have very long hair, and I have a lot of it. Gena blew me away by her thoroughness and precision. It's clear she's an expert at what she does! She applied a gloss to my hair, then Keaton took over and finished washing my hair. She was so friendly and sweet! Then, I headed over to Olivia for my haircut and blow dry. Once again, very friendly and sweet! When I was almost finished with my haircut, I thought it was so kind how Gena came back over to see me and make sure I liked my hair. She made me feel so special! I'd been looking for a new salon for awhile now, and I'm so excited that I found this place! Can't wait for my next visit!

I saw a new hair stylist today and she took out all my extensions and come to find out- Nicole had cut the end of two of my extensions (i have 6 in a row) making them not reusable bc of how bad the hair was falling off. Knowing how much I paid for the extensions I couldn't understand why she would do this. It ruined my extensions that I paid SO much for and were in great condition before I saw her. Needless to say I will not be back.
