Once I finally regained access, the phone displayed warnings that it did not recognize the replacement part and required a software update. Despite those issues, I still had access to my photos, apps, and personal data. The phone was functioning, even though there were clear problems after the repair. I returned to the store specifically because those issues appeared immediately after their work. Instead of fixing the problem, I left with a phone that was significantly worse than when I arrived. After their second attempt, the phone became completely unusable and was stuck on the restore screen. I lost access to everything. I then took the phone to Apple. One of the first questions they asked was whether the device had recently been repaired. After attempting to restore it on multiple computers, they informed me that the repair was the likely cause of the failure. What frustrates me most is that the company's solution is to offer a refund for the repair. A refund does not make me whole. I did not bring them a dead phone. I brought them a phone with a broken screen. I left with a phone that could no longer be used at all. The issue is not the cost of the repair. The issue is that I now need to replace an entire phone because of a repair that went wrong. Offering to refund the repair charge ignores the much larger loss that their work caused. I understand that repair shops have liability waivers. That does not change the fact that I entrusted them with a functioning device, paid for a repair, and ended up with a phone that Apple could not recover. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering a repair here think carefully before handing over their device.

He gave me information and sent me a video with instructions on how to replace it at home. No charge. Talk about an honest company. If my issue turns out to be more involved, I will definitely have it repaired here. As someone who just went into remission from cancer with a bunch of medical bills, I truly appreciate his kindness during a difficult time. TL;DR Amazing and honest service. You can trust them.

Home Theater A/V Receiver August 2026…read more A proximal lightning strike surged my expensive Onkyo receiver. Bad luck. After calling around, though, I was very lucky to find Thomas's Gadgets to get it repaired. I dropped off the receiver at Thomas's and the issue was diagnosed and the part was ordered before I even got a call back from some of the other shops. The repair was completed and I had it back in only seven working days. They also worked on my keyless door openers that had been damaged by leaking batteries. These repairs saved me a lot of money, time and shipping delays. And I saw other items in their shop for repair including large flat screens and smaller electronics, too. Thomas's is located only about 1.5 miles from interstate 4 and I was asking myself how far I would drive to get work done there. My answer was at LEAST 50 miles. Probably farther. Communications about my repair issues were complete, timely and included photos of the problem. The estimated price range for repair was given and the final price was right in the middle of the range. Do not be put off by the storefront. As a former business owner I know that the way to keep prices low is to keep down overhead expenses. The savings are passed along to the customer at Thomas's. And do not let the shop's name fool you. This is a serious business that can solve serious electronic problems. At least one of the technicians has education and training in avionic electronics. If he can do repair work on a Cessna, he can probably solve your problem. I received a level of professionalism, efficiency and honesty from Thomas's Gadgets, Inc. that I have not experienced for a very long time, if ever.
