They will soon be expanding the space to include a bar and more tables. I am from California, so I look forward to see what they do to the place when I get back. I ordered the Etoufee Egg Rolls, Wings, and Jambalaya. My cousin ordered a burger, and his son ordered the Mac and cheese. OMG - the egg rolls were incredible. It came with a roumalade that I think they need to bottle up and sell. It's the kinda sauce you'd want to put on everything. I liked the texture and flavor of the wrap and omg the flavors tasted like they were wrapped in love. Chloe, the owner, told us that the jambalaya ones are even better. I was already ordering the jambalaya so I opted for the etouffee to get a wider variety of flavors. I ordered the wings with the lemon pepper and buffalo seasoning. The combo was a little salty, but good. That roumalade with it was bombacious! The jambalaya won my heart. It gave me the warm fuzzies because it felt like a beautiful story unfolded with every bite. So many flavors to take your tastebuds on an incredible journey. Love that the food is cooked in beef tallow. You can taste it in the fries. The crispiness and omg - I miss the days before people cooked with vegetable oil. Looking forward to the day when I can come back again. PS- please bottle up that roumalade and sell it!

I don't think I've ever had a better one. The 1/2 order of jambalaya also excellent and properly spiced. My grandson enjoyed his chicken strips and fries. I also liked my Cajun fries and Jamaican cola. I look forward to returning here again soon to try some other tasty options on their menu, including red beans and rice, collard greens, oxtail, etc. The owners were very nice and the food was ready for pickup right on time. I will be back.

We get there and there is a cute young girl who greets us with an apron and chef's hat on. She seats us and takes our order - she was our waitress which surprised us. I ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup to have before my meal. I'm glad I got a cup and not a bowl. The cup was only half full. The soup was lacking flavor so I added pepper. The woman who is GrannyMa delivered the soup. She didn't speak to us or anything the entire time while we were there which didn't feel too nice. They were sold out of the beef liver, beef shortribs and sweet potatoes. We ordered the fried chicken (menu states it takes 20-25 minutes for the chicken) and the salmon croquettes. Each dinner comes with 2 sides each so we got the macaroni and cheese, green beans, dressing and mostaccioli (slight extra charge for the mostaccioli). Fried chicken was crispy and delicious! Seasoned well. The croquettes were good also - they give you two big patties in the dinner. We weren't impressed with the green beans as you can tell they came out of a can. The dressing was only okay. The mac and cheese was pretty good but the best side was the mostaccioli - it had a layer of cheese on top and was really yummy. I wish I had gotten that as a meal, it was that good and highly recommend it. For dessert I got the peach cobbler sundae which is peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top. The cobbler sauce was very thin. I like cobbler that has alot of flaky crust but this didn't have that but it still was good enough to eat the whole thing. The young girl brought us our bill. The prices are so reasonable for what you get. Our bill was only $62 with tax for all of what we had. The place is bright with warm colors inside. We conversated with the son-in-law to GrannyMa's, he was very nice and personable. Although the young girl was sweet, I felt some kind of way of her being our waitress because clearly she is underage to be working. We were told they have a Sunday brunch from 11-3 that includes a DJ. To my friend and I, the food overall was either hit or miss. One review mention about GrannyMa engaging them in conversation - she never came over to our table except to drop off the soup and she is the owner of the restaurant. Not a good way in customer service if you ask me. Overall, okay.

Based on food, that 2-star above would be a "4". It's a family-run establishment, and therein lies the reason for the 2-star mark. They have rules. Oboy, do they have rules. When you order the chicken, they bring it out "family style", and only the folks who order the chicken can sup from the bowls. They put out relishes and yummy corn fritters, but don't think you're going to get to take them along in the doggie bag. You can rent a seat for $10.41, if you don't order a full dinner; and your kids can rent their seats for $5.20, if THEY don't order a dinner. There's a "Lettuce salad" for $8.63, but only at that price if you order WITHOUT croutons. Apparently the WFF folks didn't swing when the crouton futures were favorable. For the record, "croutons" are nowhere on the menu...at any price. There was a scowling manager who reminded me of Basil Fawlty (q.v.). It seemed she was annoyed by the customers. Their policy is NO SPLIT CHECKS. That's okay, we have calculators on our fones. We were a party of four, a regular dining quartet, and it is our custom that no one picks up the entire check. Sometimes one or more of us pays cash for their portion and others have a card. We'll say: "charge each card $40, and here's $50 in cash". Round numbers, easy peasy. (which actually results in a bonus for the server 'cos the tip turns out to be greater than normal) We've never encountered a problem at any resto (who accepts credit cards) when it came to giving them payment in this fashion. O, but there was a problem here. One of our 4 didnt have any cash and needed to pay with his card, but was told "No, you can't!" The fellow with the Card was so offended, he said he was going to skip dinner, and just have a Diet Coke. But that would trigger the $10.41 "I ain't eatin'" fee. Well. It stupefies me that ANY establishment would kick back at customers wanting to pay their bill. The waitress was adamant that we could not proffer varied payments for our bill. We asked for a manager, and Ms. Fawlty sidled up to our table. They kept insisting there was "NO SPLIT CHECK", but we weren't ASKING for a split check. The ask was on the SUM TOTAL (with generous tip added). We even made the ask in "round numbers" They didn't have to do any math. I thought I was going to have to pull up an Esperanto translator to get her to understand we weren't asking to SPLIT the check. After some sprightly conversation, the loose wire in the old bag's noggin hit the right contact and then she grokked what we were proposing. I thought I saw sparks coming from her right ear, but it might have been a trick of the light. Luckily, the guy with the card could now eat. The aggregate service was fine, with the above exception, and as I said above, the food IS top-notch. Even beyond Chicken-- the Steak here is very good. My carping here nonetheless, it's a fun place to go, and you are guaranteed a fine feed. But if you're in mixed company, work out who is going to grab the tab before you sit down...
