After an assembly in the area I was searching for some bbq. We were very happy with finding Doc Watson's. Ordering was quick and easy. My mom and I ordered a cornbread muffin, Mac and cheese and baby back ribs. What came out was some of the biggest juiciest slabs of baby backs I can remember. I flipped the slab over to cut it as it was just one massive connected slab of meat still. I really liked the sauces but honestly the meat didn't require any sauce as it was so tender and flavorful all on its own. The Mac and cheese was good too. Next time I'd like to try the brisket or one of the 3 plate combos. It was a nice chill environment and good came out really fast! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!

Has been far too long since I have been in. Saturday special won me back. Smoked prime rib, shrimp, mashed and green beans. Generous 16 oz piece. Cap had a brisket flavor from the rub and smoke. I've always enjoyed my visits here and need to get back again soon.

Was in town for work and really wanted to give this place a second chance, and glad I did because it was much better. I got the 3 meat platter - turkey, pulled chicken, smoked pastrami, and Texas green beans for both sides very good. Smoked pastrami was a 10/10 super tender and excellent flavor and bark on the outside. Turkey was a 8.5/10, super moist and not dry at all with good flavor. Pulled chicken was a 7/10, not bad but nothing spectacular here. Texas green beans were a 9/10, really flavorful and the bacon pieces were a nice touch. Very happy I gave this place a second chance, would definitely come again!

Stopped by this BBQ joint while passing through, and it was a letdown. The brisket barely had a smoke ring and was far from tender--required a knife to cut through it, and the fat was the kind you push aside. The Mexican street corn tasted like it came straight from a can, no effort there. Wouldn't recommend unless you're desperate.

Great food. Order at the counter and they will bring food to your table. Definitely recommend the street tacos and elote nachos. FYI, the nachos are big enough for 3 or 4 people!

1 lbs of beef brisket. It was yummy.

So was in town for the holidays And someone mentioned this spot to me I love some good BBQ. Mann this place was nice. It's tucked away and reminds me of the mom and pop shops which is the best. Got the 1 lbs of brisket and it was wonderful. I'll definitely go back.

Went for the Wednesday Reuben special. Great flavor but just needs more meat. Comes with chips so that's good. Elote is still very good. Not swimming in water like alot of places. Hubby got the brisket sandwich and said it was good. It was empty when we arrived but full by the time we left.

Burnt ends, street corn nachos w/brisket, monster beans and mac n' cheese

Our first time here and it was a pleasant experience! The young lady who took our order was very friendly and polite, she always spoke with a smile. We had the burnt ends, street corn nachos w/brisket, man n' cheese and monster beans. Everything was DELICIOUS and they serve big portions too! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I got the "Texas Nachos" from the appetizer and trust me when i say, it could feed your whole table. it was to die for, the flavor was totally there ! i even got the baked beans, and dips for my chips. The cashiers were so friendly and recommended their favorite, so friendly.

Two meat platter. Brisket and smoked sausage. Street corn and cornbread.

We got the sampler platter. More than enough for 2. Brisket was great! Brought the pulled pork, smoked sausage home for a meal tomorrow.

Based on food, that 2-star above would be a "4". It's a family-run establishment, and therein lies the reason for the 2-star mark. They have rules. Oboy, do they have rules. When you order the chicken, they bring it out "family style", and only the folks who order the chicken can sup from the bowls. They put out relishes and yummy corn fritters, but don't think you're going to get to take them along in the doggie bag. You can rent a seat for $10.41, if you don't order a full dinner; and your kids can rent their seats for $5.20, if THEY don't order a dinner. There's a "Lettuce salad" for $8.63, but only at that price if you order WITHOUT croutons. Apparently the WFF folks didn't swing when the crouton futures were favorable. For the record, "croutons" are nowhere on the menu...at any price. There was a scowling manager who reminded me of Basil Fawlty (q.v.). It seemed she was annoyed by the customers. Their policy is NO SPLIT CHECKS. That's okay, we have calculators on our fones. We were a party of four, a regular dining quartet, and it is our custom that no one picks up the entire check. Sometimes one or more of us pays cash for their portion and others have a card. We'll say: "charge each card $40, and here's $50 in cash". Round numbers, easy peasy. (which actually results in a bonus for the server 'cos the tip turns out to be greater than normal) We've never encountered a problem at any resto (who accepts credit cards) when it came to giving them payment in this fashion. O, but there was a problem here. One of our 4 didnt have any cash and needed to pay with his card, but was told "No, you can't!" The fellow with the Card was so offended, he said he was going to skip dinner, and just have a Diet Coke. But that would trigger the $10.41 "I ain't eatin'" fee. Well. It stupefies me that ANY establishment would kick back at customers wanting to pay their bill. The waitress was adamant that we could not proffer varied payments for our bill. We asked for a manager, and Ms. Fawlty sidled up to our table. They kept insisting there was "NO SPLIT CHECK", but we weren't ASKING for a split check. The ask was on the SUM TOTAL (with generous tip added). We even made the ask in "round numbers" They didn't have to do any math. I thought I was going to have to pull up an Esperanto translator to get her to understand we weren't asking to SPLIT the check. After some sprightly conversation, the loose wire in the old bag's noggin hit the right contact and then she grokked what we were proposing. I thought I saw sparks coming from her right ear, but it might have been a trick of the light. Luckily, the guy with the card could now eat. The aggregate service was fine, with the above exception, and as I said above, the food IS top-notch. Even beyond Chicken-- the Steak here is very good. My carping here nonetheless, it's a fun place to go, and you are guaranteed a fine feed. But if you're in mixed company, work out who is going to grab the tab before you sit down...

Came in on a busy Saturday night after attending another event in the area. The bar was hopping and we snagged the last 2 available seats. However, other than the barback consistently washing/unloading dishes I am not sure what was going on with the service. Manager was not providing any assistance to his staff. However, he was filling his own water bottle. Other staff were taking selfies with guests. It took awhile to order a second round as well as pay our tab. This was a one and done visit for me.

Attempts to reach corporate through their listed executive emails bounced back as undeliverable. On June 21 around 2pm, I experienced highly unacceptable and unprofessional behavior from on-site managers, Meghan & Javier. Upon arrival, I was referred to the bar area where a member of staff took my to-go order which consisted of an appetizer and two desserts (slices of cake ) from your menu. Five minutes after placing my order, the young lady returned and said she was informed that the restaurant, despite having it on the menu presented to me, no longer offers cake slices to go, but if I dined in, I would be able to order the cake. I asked to speak with the manager. "Meghan" approached and said that, despite the false advertising on the menu, we could not order the normal size cake to go but a smaller version was available. When asked to see the menu reflecting said portion and pricing, it was not available. I then asked if there was someone else who could help. After waiting 10 minutes, manager "Javier" approached, not introducing himself, and spoke with an aura of disrespect, simply stating that it isn't necessary for the restaurant to advertise the smaller cake slice or price, and the only way we would be able to order is if we were to dine-in. When I offered for myself and my daughter to dine in at the bar with the order we originally placed to go (baked goat cheese with extra crostini, chocolate cake and carrot cake), we were told that was insufficient and that a "full tab" would be needed. In all of my dining experience, I have never been treated with such contempt, especially from management. Instead of working to resolve a standard issue or offering some sort of solution , the manager simply walked away without any resolve. This behavior is completely out of line with standard hospitality practices. I have submitted a formal report through WeEat website intake form on June 30 and am waiting for a prompt response from a regional director or HR representative to resolve this matter. I hope that in the future you will address these issues and improve the service at Goat and Vine as treating patrons on this level should not be taken lightly.
