I finally checked out Baby's in Joliet a few weeks ago, and I had a great experience. The portions are generous, so you'll definitely get your money's worth. I ordered a little bit of everything to sample the menu, including the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, crispy Philly cheesesteak, Philly nachos, catfish sandwich, and the Nashville chicken cheesesteak sandwich. Since these are the original owners from the Country Club Hills location, I was excited to compare the food. While the flavor tasted a little different to me than I remembered, it was still very good. The biggest surprise was that my favorite item wasn't a cheesesteak--it was the fried catfish sandwich. The fish was crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I'd definitely order that again. I'll start with the biggest issue. The GPS location needs to be updated. I missed the place twice because it's tucked in a corner on a one-way street. I had to circle around just to find it. There is free parking in front, and I believe there's parking on the side of the building too, but it wasn't obvious how to access it. I ended up parking in front and walking in. It was very quiet for a Friday night. There's a casino nearby, so I expected more traffic. When we arrived, there were two people already eating, and one more couple came in after us. The food came out fast and everything was fresh. We spent a little over $50 and ordered two slushy lemonades(strawberry and pineapple , a catfish dinner with fries and garlic bread, steak Philly egg rolls (3), and a six-piece boneless buffalo chicken. The bathroom was clean, but there is only one shared restroom. They were accommodating with substitutions on the egg rolls, which I appreciated. If you substitute, I recommend asking for it light. They added a lot of jalapeños, which was too much for my wife. The boneless wings were good overall, though one piece tasted like a gizzard. The buffalo sauce and ranch were both solid. The fries were good, but be aware they charge $1 for seasoning. We chose garlic seasoning, and it was literally just a few sprinkles. It tasted fine, but the upcharge didn't feel worth it. The catfish was lightly fried. I personally prefer it more crispy, so I'd suggest asking them to cook it longer if that's your preference. The garlic bread was soaked in olive oil. You could actually squeeze it and see oil come out. I asked for a remake. At first, the young lady said that's how it's made, but another gentleman, possibly the owner, stepped in and offered to remake it. I appreciated that. The bread itself was soft and good, but the garlic powder flavor was still pretty strong. The lemonade tasted more like the green bottled lemon juice than fresh lemonade. It wasn't terrible, just not what I expected. There was and chemical aftertaste. Overall, the food was fresh and service was fairly quick. They were willing to fix issues, which I respect. But flavor-wise, it was just okay. I've definitely had better, and it's not a spot I'd personally return to. TikTok reviews had me expecting more, so I was surprised. They are new to Joliet, so it may be worth trying for yourself. This is just my opinion. read more

New locally owned cheesesteak space doing many things right I had my order to go. I picked it up and was eating it within 10 minutes so I feel that I can give this a decent review. Staff was friendly and efficient. From order to ready was under 5 minutes. They did a good job of packing things up making it easy to transport and preserve the quality of food. Highlight is the bread which they told me that they make in house. Good bun to meat ratio. Reasonable amount of dripping which I think is a good sign of a cheesesteak. This wasn't overly cheesy. If you like a high cheese to meat ratio, this may be a slight drawback (it wasn't for me) I went with 4 stars for 2 minor issues: Meat was salty: I don't mind a bit of salt but this was a bit much for me. I still enjoyed it, but would rather taste beef over salt Frozen lemonade wasn't as frozen as it could have been: this is pretty minor. Flavor was still good and I achieved a brain freeze. Outstanding is how I would describe my first time here. A friend & coworker Steven Travis just told me how great this place is. I just missed the lunch rush so it was fairly quiet. Everybody working was amazingly friendly and polite. I had the original cheesesteak sandwich which was absolutely perfect. As well as the lemon pepper seasoned fries. Topped off with the best lemonade slushie I ever had. This will definitely be my go to place when I come to town. read more

Okay so let me say this is my experience and my opinion. Please form your own opinion by trying it out. I went to place a order for 4. As I was ordering I immediately became overwhelmed because I ordered what I saw on the menu but I was questioned about everything ( 3-4 different options for the fries) but they all came with a price unbeknownst to me. So after ordering I told my husband this is going to be expensive because every single item added was a charge, even to use a card to pay I was charged. And unless they just put that sign up I didn't see tbere was a charge for using a card. Now lets get into the food; the fries was salty some seasoning was added to it which I only asked for mild sauce and hot sauce which I was charge for the mild sauce as they dont have hot sauce. The Philly cheese steak is what I ordered the bread was soft, fresh and phenomenal however; my cheese steak was more like Philly cheese green peppers. More than 1/2 of what was supposed to be meat was green peppers. My son ordered the Crispy Chicken Philly with buffalo sauce in it and there was none. Additionally the size for the cost dont really add up. We ordered 2 catfish dinners they were okay no complaints other than it seem like the fish was Swai. However; it was crispy and hot so either way they get a pass. The Blue Raspberry Lemonade was a little to sweet but im sure adding some alcohol would make it better. Over all I'm rating this place for food 6/10. For the cleanliness of the restaurant 9. 5/10. For the friendliness of the staff 9/10. For the cost of the food compared to the portion size 6.5/10. I would like to give them another try but we'll see. read more

Can't beat the original Philly. Bread was soft and meat was high quality and crispy. Definitely will be back. Try the frozen lemonade and don't forget to test some ice creams the strawberry cheesecake is amazing. read more

tbh I had high hopes for this place cheese could of been better on everything and the soda machine wasnt even working right. The drinks got flat after literally while eating. And the chicken bones were very dark colored idk what that can mean but yeah overall thought I give it a 6/10 read more

We had the Original and Crispy Cheesesteaks and both were really good with solid flavors. We also had the garlic fries and they were just ok...flavor was good, but they semed a little under cooked. Atmosphere was good...restaurant is bright and clean. Plenty of seating. read more
