I had the same bed for 25 years. I loved my bed, it was a good bed. My fiancé demanded that we get a new bed since his side had a dip that was hurting his back. I wanted to keep my big luxurious bed and thought it was perfect. However, since he was uncomfortable I decided to start looking with him. We had about a thousand dollars saved. We looked on line a lot, and ended up at Mattress City on Everett Mall Way. We walked in and were greeted warmly by the owner Stewart. He went on to show us all the beds according to our desires and also told us of some medical benefits that could be realized with an adjustable bed. It was way out of our price range. The list of medical benefits that interested me and Brian hit very close to home, just by having our heads up a couple of inches we could enjoy reduced acid reflux, high blood pressure, sleep apnea (we both have done overnight sleep studies and now wear A-Pap masks) facial swelling, back pain, neck and shoulder pain as well as just a super comfortable nights rest. There is a setting called zero gravity that puts your back in a cradle of pure relaxation. Any sort of back pain disappeared for us when we spent even just ten minutes in zero gravity. I suffer from migraine headaches and have been seeing neurologists for about 3 decades that started when I was T-boned by a drunk driver when I was 19 years old. I don't like the side effects of most drugs that I had tried over the years and avoid narcotics at all times. I just like feeling like myself and disliked all the side effects of all drugs despite the pain of a migraine. So I turned to Botox injections. I had been receiving them for about a year and a half and it works for the most part. I went from having 15 migraine headaches a month to from one to four each month. This was exciting for me since these headaches could be debilitating at times. I would miss days of work. At the onset of a headache I would get these glimmers of white aura vibrating white spots in my vision to the point where I would have to stop driving, couldn't work, could not even see faces in front of me. Life would STOP for about 45 minutes. And at the return of my vision I would have the worst head ache a person could imagine. I would be nauseated, vomit, get very dizzy, have immense back, neck and shoulder muscle spasms and I would be in so much pain that I was pretty much useless. The only thing that would touch it that was non-narcotic was ibuprofen, a lot of it! Which cancels out my blood pressure medicine and cause my blood pressure to sky rocket to an uncomfortable and hazardous level. I was very grateful for the discovery of the Botox injections. I still kept a migraine log and my doctor would continue to try different things to relieve me of the migraines by poking me in various sensitive places on my head, neck, shoulders and back. I came to grips with the fact that I would just have to deal with the break through headaches and try to live around them, as well as tolerate quarterly painful Botox needle jabs in order to limit them. When we got our new bed from Mattress City we were so pleased with the health benefits. It was easy financing and everything that Stewart said came true! I have to admit I thought he might be blowing smoke up our butts, but it's all true. Our blood pressure is down, our sleep apnea is under control. Acid reflux no longer creeps up on us right after breakfast. We sleep like babies with no neck or back pain. And I am happy to announce that I have been migraine FREE for 5 months now! My doctor is even calling this new bed a medical miracle for us and said it's a TAX DEDUCTION. (She is writing me a retroactive prescription for this bed). She said she will be recommending these types of adjustable beds to all her migraine patients as she has not seen such success in treatment with anyone else before me. The owner was so sincere and nice, not pushy at all! I had bought two mattresses from Mattress Depot, each within a year of eachother. They both did the same thing and started hammocking. I need a comfortable mattress because I have a fracture in my spine. So I decided to look else where, I seen his ad on CL. So I decided to check out the website. They had some pretty good looking matresses. When I went in a was greeted right away from the owner. He asked me what I was looking for, my price range, did I prefer this style or that style mattress. I told him what happened to the last two mattresses that I had bought, and he really listened and showed that he cared not just for the purchase, but for me as a person! He helped me find the perfect mattress. He gave me $200 off for my old set (which they donate to people in need). I also got a frame, mattress cover, and the mattress set for an amazing deal!!!! He even GAVE me 1800 thread count egyptian cotton sheets for FREE! We arranged to have the mattress delivered next day, which it was! The delivery men were very nice! They took out the old set, put the frame together, brought in the new set. Even put the mattress cover on! Overall it was a great experience. The best customer service I have ever had! I am always cautious when shopping alone, most people think that woman are dumb and can take advantage of them, but I didn't have to worry while I was here! My husband and I are expecting our first baby and have been so wrapped up in things for the little one that we ran out of money and have been desperate for a bigger bed so that we can have a co-sleeper when the baby comes without sacrificing our sleeping room in the process. I decided to put an ad on Craigslist hoping someone would be willing to give us an old king mattress. After no responses and only seeing ads giving away queens, we thought we were stuck with what we had. Stewart (the owner of Mattress City) gave me a call and let me know he had a few mattress we were welcome to come look at. He said they get a bunch of used ones in each week and usually end up donating them. I thought for sure we would end up having to listen to a big sales speech about buying a new mattress or something, but we decided to go take a look anyway. Stewart was VERY sweet and incredibly helpful. He helped us find a clean and gently used king mattress which he gave us for free and even helped my husband load it into our truck! There was no pressure whatsoever and the whole experience was very comfortable. I can definitely say we will be going back to see him on pay day to buy a mattress protector and the rails too. The prices are awesome and so much lower than all the other mattress stores in the area. I would 100% recommend that everyone at least stop by and see him when looking for any of your bed needs. Mattress city is a great family-owned, customer-obsessed business. Stewart took the time to explain the different mattresses, pros and cons of each, without using the opaque mattress jargon that we had gotten at other stores. Mattress city was the fourth store we visited, the others were savvy, sleep country and sears. Every store seemed to have the same "lines" of mattresses but all with different prices and different names and confounding reasons as to why they were all different from each other! Mattress city did not carry most of the standard mattress lineup, but seemed to conscientiously choose which brands to carry based on quality, warranties and good business practices. The mattress we found was exactly what we wanted and we got a great deal on it! We especially liked that instead of charging us to take away our old mattress they gave us money off our new mattress and will donate the old mattress to the Everett Gospel Mission to aid the homeless. Overall we had a very good buying experience with Stewart: he was funny, candid and informative, while also being patient enough to make sure we got the right bed for us. All while never crossing over into being at all patronizing! We will definitely be referring our friends and family here when they need new mattresses. read more

We bought a king adjustable bed from Mattress City almost 2 years ago. This was the first foam-style mattress we've had and about 6 months ago we complained that it didn't feel "the same" as when it was new. (Apparently foam mattresses wear differently than coil ones, and adjustable beds are almost always foam.) Anyway, we went to the store and Stu wasn't in. His Dad couldn't commit to doing anything about our mattress but he spent probably 30 minutes showing us different mattresses and explaining the pros and cons of each. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The next day we went back and talked to Stu who immediately offered to replace the mattress at no cost to us. No hassle, no paperwork. His crew delivered the new mattress (which sells for more than we paid for our model!) and took away the old one. While I'm still not sure I like foam better than coil, it is a very comfortable bed. I wanted to write a review immediately but decided to give the new mattress a 6 month trial first. It's great. This is a wonderful place to do business. I'd recommend them to anyone. Buying our new mattress here was so uncomplicated. We walked in told him what we were looking for and he showed us a few that he thought could work for us. And you know what...he didn't automatically just try to get us to buy the most expensive one in the store! We have a king size and we still got a very great quality mattress for under $1500 including the box spring and delivery and everything. They even give you credit to the store if you donate your old mattress they take anyways. My husband and I had been putting off buying a new mattress for years. We didn't want to feel pressured into buying one that was way out of our price range and not like it. I know all places have the guarantee, but here they don't make you feel bad if you need to exchange it. They very genuinely want you to get the NEW mattress you need without costing a fortune. No used mattresses here, all new at great prices! They even have custom mattresses that are one firmness on one side the a different one on another (Dr. Bruce Bed). This place was awesome, and very different from the other mattress stores I visited. The other stores seemed really pushy and always seemed to disparage their competition which really put me off. This place was completely different, first of all it was the owners of the store that helped me when I stepped foot inside their doors. It wasn't some 18 year old kid that had no idea what he was talking about, or a pushy salesman that was just trying to make commission. These guys actually listened to my needs and budget restraints, let me try out a few different mattresses based on their recommendations and I found the perfect mattress within a few minutes. They even gave me a free home delivery that was delivered the same day I purchased the mattress which was cool, because I was prepared to strap the mattress down on my car to avoid delivery fees. Since I wasn't in a hurry I even had a good conversation with the owners about their business and their lives and they seemed like really nice people. Overall I would definitely recommend visiting this store if you are in need of a new mattress, and I will definitely be coming back here when I need a new one if I still live in the area. read more

AS GOOD AS IT GETS....Stuart and Julie at Mattress City are so deserving of 5 stars. Today I went back to them to purchase a bed set for my daughter's bday after having bought a set for my brother a couple years ago. I got an amazing deal from them on both occasions and couldn't be happier about it. This was an opportunity to have my daughter experience a thing or two about big box furniture stores with "amazing deals, no interest for years, free delivery, blah bla-blah, bla-blah..." Well, she learned it's all a bunch of hype to reel you in while paying for major overhead, massive advertising budgets, 100% commissions, delivery if under a certain $$ amount, etc. We even had one salesperson at a big box store equate buying a mattress to purchasing a car - for real, dude?? Stuart and Julie also give to those less fortunate by accepting your old mattress and donating it while giving you a discount on the purchase of your new one. They are caring people who believe if you give a customer a good deal they'll come back, and indeed I did and when it's time for my next furniture purchase, you can bet it will be at Mattress City. I originally bought a mattress from Sears. The reason being they were offering 0% interest for 18 months and I am always a sucker for that. I could not have any weekday delivery so I had to wait until the following Saturday, a whole week away, for delivery. They confirmed with me 3 separate times regarding delivery. On delivery day I gave my old mattress to a neighbor in need and waited for my new mattress. 1/2 way through the time frame I was given for delivery (3:15pm) I received a call that they would not be delivering due to the truck breaking down! I now had no bed and no delivery coming. I told the company to rent a truck and deliver my bed late and they refused. Now I was stuck!!!!! I found the exact same bed here at mattress City for the exact same price. Just no 0% financing BUT they were able to deliver WITHIN AN HOUR! This is the best customer service I have ever received and where I will now go for any mattress needs! I highly recommend this company. Stewart was wonderful. He is customer focused and made me feel like I was working with a customer service expert and not a used car salesman. I am a customer service representative and I really felt doted on. Every other store I went to that I told I was on a budget shuffled me to the reclaimed mattresses in the back instead of showing me new ones that I could test to see what I liked. They also didn't have any new mattresses in the price range I was looking for. I never felt any pressure from him and has a great deal of experience in the mattress business that made me feel secure in asking him questions and getting accurate and honest answers. It was more like talking to a friend when I was trying to figure out what I liked. I almost passed this store driving down Everett Mall Way until I saw the sign that said Family Owned. My husband and I are very difficult customers, he needs a firm mattress and I definitely require soft and plush. I told Stewart, the owner, we would be a challenge for him at the get-go. Stewart was patient and knowledgable. We made our selection and it was delivered in a very timely manor, my husband loved it but after a few nights on it and I was just not happy with it--too firm. Stewart picked it up and delivered us a second set, this time much plusher, I was happy as a clam and slept like a baby but my husband's back needed more support. I knew the store had a policy that allows a one time exchange, it is clearly printed on the receipt, but we were desperate. I mustered up the courage and went down to the store to talk to Stewart and he was so understanding and accommodating, not only did he exchange our mattress a third time but he delivered it for free. I went to many mattress stores over the last year and this one was the best! They were only interested in "helping me" find the bed I needed and not pushing me into buying what they wanted me to purchase. They asked many questions about what I wanted/needed. There was no pressure to buy and I made up my mind within minutes. The one thing that made a difference in my decision is that they make a difference here. They deliver and set up your new bed and take the old away. Not ONLY do they remove it, they donate the bed to either a homeless shelter or a "DV" womans shelter! With my coupon I was given a rebate of $ off my purchase for turning in the old mattress. I would highly recommend Stewart & Julies family owned business for anyone looking for a new mattress set or singles. They were SO helpful and if they are still there in 20 years I'm going back. the BEST place to buy a Mattress or anything bedding related. I went in yesterday to see about purchasing a mattress. I was able to meet with Stuart, the owner. Who is wonderful to work with. We sat down and discussed my financial situation. He went beyond my expectations....... he is letting me pay on our mattress for 6 months with no interest and he let me determine the amount i could afford. Our mattress was delivered the same day and set up for free. I have never had a better buying experience. I had some unfortunate financial issues related to a job loss, my credit unfortunately suffered. However, Stuart did not judge my character based on this situation. He went out of his way to help us get a great mattress. Stewart opened his Everett store just about the same time I was tired of the way my old, firm mattress started to hurt my back daily, both while sleeping and then waking up with a stiff lower back. I checked out a few competing shops and ended up at Mattress City. The showroom was very easy to navigate and there were quite a few beds that seemed to fit my needs, both quality and price). Stewart was very helpful with his knowledge, and I was very impressed that he led me to mattresses that would work best for me, instead of trying to get the most money out of me. I ended up with a memory foam mattress and HAVE NOT HAD BACK PAIN SINCE!!! I have referred friends to Stewart, especially those that have lower back pain. My partner and I were in the market for a new bed. I was having the worst time sleeping at night waking up every few hours with back pains and seemed to never really get a good nights sleep.
