I saw a sign near hobby lobby and decided to call because we were in need of a mattress for our daughter. I called and spoke with mr. brooks. He told me he'd take care of me and that I needed to come on by. I told him I would call when I was leaving hobby lobby. A little while later I called back and asked him about how much a full size mattress would cost, I didn't want to waste my time driving if it was still going to be a $400 mattress. He kind of abruptly said, "just be honest with me, how much do you want to spend". I told him I'd like to spend $100 or less. He said if I could bring a crisp $100 bill he would have a mattress for me, he said he could only do it in cash because other wise he would have to charge me sales tax and other fees. I agreed, and I told him I was on my way, I'd be there in less than 5 minutes.
I arrive at the store and there is no one in the parking lot, and most of the lights were out. Curious if it was even open, I go to the front door and it's open so I walk in. Mr. Brooks was in the back of the store buttoning up his shirt, for which he said, "I've been here all night and I was just getting ready to jump in the shower". Feeling awkward, I walked towards the back of the store to find the mattress he had picked out for me. It was worn, and very dirty with the plastic around it full of holes. Mr. Brooks then told me that it had been in storage collecting dust. Upon further examining it, I found many stains and didn't feel comfortable with purchasing it for my daughter. Honestly, it looked like it had been a very abused mattress and just re-wrapped to appear new? But that's just my own opinion.
I proceeded to tell mr. brooks that I was not comfortable with the purchase, after which he tried to sell me a different one for $170, and when I refused he threw his hands in the air and said, "fine" as I walked out the door.
I would not recommend this to anyone. Mr. Brooks was very unprofessional and the entire place made me extremely uncomfortable, to say the least. read more
