I'm not the kind who after making a researched decision changes my mind several times before the deal is done. But I did here, and customer service never gave attitude about it. There was a no pressure sales staff that allowed all the time I needed to look but yet remembered to periodically find me to ask if I had questions. I asked lots of questions, and in most cases, they volunteered info before I could ask: from where the mattresses were made (here in NC); where they sourced the materials (all over); and if the internal pads were really cotton (yes). They offered info I didn't know I needed either, like mattress dimensions and the weight of the mattress set. After picking out the set, arranging a delivery time (flexible times available), and making the payment, I had to change mattress specifications pre-delivery. My order was changed without a single eye-rolling, exasperated "we don't normally do this". And then, yet again pre-delivery, I called to ask about another change. Again, no hassle. I was won over by that experience alone. My changed order resulted in a small refund. While I tried to find things to make up for the price so there'd be no refund, OMF actually refunded the very small amount on the spot. And to top it off, the delivery people showed up when promised and were just as friendly and efficient as I could have hoped. Original Mattress Factory also offers a mattress-turning email reminder. That's going to be pretty useful to me since I never remember to do that.

Important for my disabilities, as I had donated two feather down combo sets that were too hard, and could not afford another set. I noted upon arrival that the seats were hard as rocks while the delivery men were still in front of the house and called asking for our salesperson or a supervising person post haste to no avail. When I finally reached her, days later, she told me I must be reading the numbers on the cushions wrong. We finally brought the entire seat of one cushion in and she was stunned, stating she had no idea where it came from. LONG STORY SHORTENED-SHE WAS STILL ORDERING A FOAM THEY NO LONGER CARRIED. Bassett offered to exchange for feather and down, but the man brought 3 seat cushions, said he would reorder about12 to 16 weeks. Now almost a year since delivery and we call, but again hold for an hour and hang up on us as we had initially( not mentioned because it took too much space). Went to store and the friend of now gone salesperson read our computer print out that CLAIMED the feather and down cushions were installed. A bold faced LIE. Chair cushions do not fit my sofa. We had planned to try and sell it so we could buy something I could sit on instead of just my bedroom chair as I did for the previous winter. She was to call us about putting the softer fiber, like the back, in the seats. We called once since and got nothing. Now a second year of no visitors during the holidays because there are blankets on the sofa and chair I do not use because they hurt. Pretty to look at, but not what we ordered. Breach of contract obviously, but they chose to ignore us. Maybe they dislike physically disabled or knew I was military by my bank choice. Do not pay cash or bank transfer as they are no longer the company they used to be.

Longer Version: Unlike with electronics and most other things, you can never seem to find real usable objective stats/descriptions of mattresses online. And virtually all mattress reviews seem to be contradictory and are often flat out fake. Even the reddit page dedicated to buying a mattress, which should be a treasure trove of clear cut tips on cutting through the bull and buying a mattress is little more than a trauma ward of people commiserating about how impossible it is to shop online for a mattress. But Durham Wholesale Mattress & Furniture changes all of that. As soon as we walked in the door, Andy swooped right in to help us find the perfect mattress. We ended up trying out a dozen mattresses and we felt totally safe COVID-19 wise the whole time. Andy was BEYOND patient and extremely knowledgeable about everything. And he was able to expertly incorporate all of our specific sleep needs (side sleeping, wrestles sleepers, back pain, etc.) into a mattress selection. Lastly, he was able to work with us based on our budget to get us a truly epic deal (I am honestly not sure how they kept from loosing money on this deal).
