The Original Mattress Factory has some extraordinary customer service. I hate customers like me. I'm not the kind who after making a researched decision changes my mind several times before the deal is done. But I did here, and customer service never gave attitude about it. There was a no pressure sales staff that allowed all the time I needed to look but yet remembered to periodically find me to ask if I had questions. I asked lots of questions, and in most cases, they volunteered info before I could ask: from where the mattresses were made (here in NC); where they sourced the materials (all over); and if the internal pads were really cotton (yes). They offered info I didn't know I needed either, like mattress dimensions and the weight of the mattress set. After picking out the set, arranging a delivery time (flexible times available), and making the payment, I had to change mattress specifications pre-delivery. My order was changed without a single eye-rolling, exasperated "we don't normally do this". And then, yet again pre-delivery, I called to ask about another change. Again, no hassle. I was won over by that experience alone. My changed order resulted in a small refund. While I tried to find things to make up for the price so there'd be no refund, OMF actually refunded the very small amount on the spot. And to top it off, the delivery people showed up when promised and were just as friendly and efficient as I could have hoped. Original Mattress Factory also offers a mattress-turning email reminder. Amazing Product & Great Customer Service! A few years ago I returned from a business trip where I had a great night's sleep at a luxury hotel. I looked into the make and model of the mattress and found it to be cost prohibitive with shipping alone. I went to the OMF in Apex, told them hotel's model name, and the sales person (wish I remembered his name) pointed to a mattress and said "you want that one right there." It was exactly the same and for a fourth of the cost! I also visited 2 national mattress retailers in the Triangle, and was underwhelmed. The salespeople did little more than encourage me to lay down on each mattress in their show rooms. I went back to OMF and purchased the mattress box springs and frame that day and had them in my home a week later. They also removed my old mattress and box springs. Three years later the mattress is just as comfortable as the day I received it. This past week, I returned to buy new mattresses for my kids. After looking online at other retailers, OMF still had the best value. They delivered today (3 business days later) and we discovered that I messed up and ordered Twin XLs instead of regular Twins. The delivery staff got on the phone to their manager who then talked to customer service. Within 2 hours they were able swap out the mattresses and process a refund for the difference. I was so impressed by how empowered the delivery crew was to help make things right, rather than just make the delivery and leave. They went above and beyond to make sure I wasn't stuck with a product that wouldn't work--even though I'm the one who messed up. OMF has a customer for life. read more

We were WAY overdue for a new mattress. I just hate the typical mattress store experience. So many choices, it makes my head spin. The Original Mattress Factory runs ads on the radio and on TV that say they make the mattress selection process easier. I visited their website and was pleasantly surprised by the way they have their mattress choices arranged. I immediately knew what mattresses I wanted to try. Their website pointed me to the closest store (which I didn't even know was there). We visited the store on a Saturday afternoon. It was a bit crowded but since I had done my research online, we didn't really need the sales person's help. We tried the mattresses we were interested in and VOILA !!! We bought one ! Three days later it was delivered. There was a charge to take away our old mattresses and also a delivery charge. The guys who delivered were pleasant and knew what they were doing. Very impressed with the education I received on mattresses. No frills or distractions, and no pressure. I was explained about the differences in each mattress but was not "up sold." I was given freedom of choice to make my own decision. Every question we had was answered truthfully. I ended up purchasing two mattresses! The flippable hybrid was definitely worth the extra cost! My husband and I are both sleeping better now. And our guest room now has a new comfortable plush top flippable mattress! I previously had a very expensive mattress that was found to be defective after only five years of use. Macy's was excellent at providing my warranty refund. I asked the inspector about the best brand and he said for longevity choose a flippable mattress. They are impossible to find, EXCEPT at The OMF! I was able to purchase a king and queen with my refund, and had enough left over to buy sheets and a mattress cover. read more

Mattress Factory, addendum to prior review: 3/6/2018 Today I was called by someone from the Mattress factory. The tone was aggressive and the words covertly threatening. There was no hint of an excuse for my negative experience or for the physical pain that went with it, not to mention the financial loss and the encumbrance of a now useless mattress. As for the not-no-hidden threatening speech like: "You cannot write things like that" or thereabout, I am not impressed. What they saw is a feeble old woman, what they are dealing with is a senior paralegal-case manager and a Patent Agent with a still viable intellect. We bought a twin mattress here for our daughter. The salesperson was no pressure and was very realistic on what would be a good fit for our daughter. In other words, he knows that she's not going to feel any difference between the grades of springs. The mattress was in stock and we easily loaded it up in my Pilot. read more

Have had two very good experiences with the OMF over a period of 4 years.Both times two different sales associates gave us great, informative service. The mattress ordered was delivered quickly and professionally. The team even went above and beyond to move the current mattress upstairs to a second bedroom. My only concern has been with the post sales, customer assurance associate who was not only less than helpful but really has no clue about how his actions could jeopardize future sales with the OMF. If the post sales associate had been a little more on the ball, this would have been a complete 5 out of 5 stars!!! read more

My husband and I stopped in to the showroom a couple of times trying to decide on the best mattress for us. Each time we had a different gentleman help us and they were both very helpful. I appreciated the perfect balance of them being there to help guide us with each mattress but also giving us space to try them all out. We decided on the Serenity memory foam mattress- I can't give a review on the mattress (other than it looks great) because it was just delivered today. But I DO want to recognize the two delivery men, Arnette and Randy. They were great. They didn't hesitate to take off their shoes when I had explained that our carpets were just cleaned and they attached my super difficult headboard! I appreciated the time they took to go the extra mile when they had a busy day ahead of them. The process of buying this mattress was quick and convenient. This the fourth mattress we have purchased from the Original Mattress Factory and we gave been happy with each purchase. We have bought mattresses from other stores but they can't compare. These great mattresses have two sides which means they can be turned where other mattresses have only one side which can't be turned. This saves other companies money but not for he buyer. Worst mattress we have ever bought. After only a year and a half, we are getting rid of it. When you lie on it, you feel like you are going to fall off the edge, it angles toward the edge. My husband lies lower in the bed than I do. Will NEVER buy another mattress from Original Mattress Factory. read more
