Fun vintage furniture, reproductions, and decor! I bought my daughter's bedroom suite here and several accent pieces. I love looking around here periodically to see what's new. There's also a talented custom furniture maker that sells there who makes very nice stuff. The women that work there are very friendly and helpful. The Perfect Piece is a store of mixtures. It's a mixture of a consignments, furniture, and home and garden. The visual treat starts before you even enter the main door. The front entrance is filled with statues, dried flowers, vases, and tables that give you the first hint of what you'll find inside. As I walked in the main door, one of the owners immediately greeted us, explained the layout of the store: the perimeter has consignments; the interior, furniture from model homes, gently used. The basement has items that either are on sale, or haven't yet made their way upstairs for showing. It's a beautiful store, with nearly everything you could want, and that's probably why it's one of the better named stores of its kind. It's inevitable you'll find a perfect piece for something. It's not a thrift store, so anyone on the hunt for inexpensive won't find that here. For me, it's a special occasion store and a fun store to browse. There's so much here, one visit won't let you spend time seeing it all. read more

You know, I never write reviews, not even bad ones. Something, or someone, or some experience has to be remarkably noteworthy for me to get involved. I don't even take the surveys at the end of customer service calls, so this lengthy review should tell you something. Before I share my experience, I have read some of the less than stellar reviews and I can say that I did not experience any of those situations. It is true that all sales are final, with no refunds - I recommend measuring your spaces before you go - they have appropriately placed a fishbowl full of tape measures by the front counter for you to take with you while you shop...it's genius. I found the prices to be reasonable - the pieces I bought were new, not consignment, but honestly, had I purchased the larger pieces at a discount home furnishings store, I would have paid probably 30% more, and I can almost assure you one leg would have wobbled. Now, on to my experience. I have lived in this area for almost 20 years, I have frequented downtown Cary and I have noticed The Perfect Piece, but I have never gone inside. I recently decided that I wanted to make some changes to our décor. I decided to take a day off work and spend the day working my way from Garner to Glenwood Ave, by way of Apex and Cary, from furniture store to furniture store as Google had mapped for me. The Perfect Piece was my 4th stop, out of 9...I never made it to the 5th stop. I spent 4 hours wandering around this delightful, unassuming nook. I immediately stumbled across a 10-foot credenza, which fits perfectly on a large wall in our living room - and I also purchased 2 tall dark wood and metal bookcases that were nestled on either end of the credenza. They were literally the perfect pieces for my wall, and for each other. I spoke with Betty and Rebecca for sort of forever, explaining the lay out of my space and what I had in mind - next thing, I realize Rebecca has been listening and sketched a practically perfect 3-D rendering of my living room as I described it. I asked her instantly if she would like to be friends with me. Betty and I talked about how I could float some of my furniture and really update the flow of the room. They also have custom sofas and club chairs that are super comfortable, with great fabric options, and can be delivered in 3-4 weeks!! This is unheard of at the moment. That day, I purchased, the 10 foot credenza, the 2 bookshelves, a media credenza for my bedroom, a large vase, some really beautiful stems, and a large metal angel fish. I took the smaller items with me and was told the large furniture pieces would be delivered the next day (!). When I returned home, I immediately began implementing Betty's and Rebecca's suggestions - moving furniture, assessing space - reimagining my living room...and well---I LOVE IT!! Betty and Rebecca were SOOO helpful, and patient. They were willing to chat with me, really taking the time to understand my vision of the space, directing me to pieces that aligned to my goals, and offering to keep eyes out for other items that may present themselves. At no point were they ever pushy - which I always appreciate. I immediately began following them on Facebook, and now, every day, I get to see their updated posts of new pieces they have gotten in. Just this morning, over my coffee, I noticed 2 accent chairs - I called, and they were still available - so I dashed over to purchase them. I was also looking for a smaller side table. I wandered the store alone, then came back, told them what I had in mind, then Betty walked the store with me showing me some options, and I found a 'perfect piece'. I clearly cannot say enough great things about this little boutique shop that far exceeded my wildest expectations. If you are in Cary, stop by - you won't be disappointed. If you live far away, drive there - it will be worth it. If nothing else, follow them on Facebook - I promise - if you need a perfect piece, or even inspiration - they will come through. read more

The Perfect Piece is nicely tucked away in an old bank at the base of downtown Cary. (This makes for a particularly fun excursion through the store as you look to see how much of the old bank is still intact. For instance the vault is now a cool little room) Lucky for you! they have a parking lot, so you don't have to worry about the parking hassle that downtown Cary can be! The sign on the door describes this place well! It says "Upscale Furniture, consignment, and Home Decor" and Vendor Booths. I would say this is the kind of store that falls on my "want" list. (Places like grocery stores are need places, b/c you actually need their stuff. Want stores are the places that you buy things merely b/c you want them.) If you are looking for something to decorate with this is the place to come. It does not matter your style, be it modern, eclectic, shabby chic, old country home, prissy, laid back, manly or fru fru, they have it all. It can be a little overwhelming to be in this place b/c there is SOOOOOOOOOOO much here, but it is defiantly worth hunting through. They not only carry home decor, but jewelry and accessories, such as sunglasses scarves and handbags. It's fun to walk through and see the different personalities of the booth owners as you walk through and see how they have decorated. Some of the items are new, some are used, and some are consignment. There is no real distinction between the categories and the store is a mish mash of it all. Some things were bargain priced while somethings were just pricey. You just have to play the, is it that cute? game. Example: The hubbie and i were in a glasses store earlier today and they had some designer glasses for $350, they were cute, but not $350 cute. then when we came to the Perfect Piece we found a pair of glasses that had a similar design without the designer price tag for $13 and i thought to myself, now those are $13 cute! so i got them. So next time you're up for redecorating, or you're looking for that something, but you just don't know what it is go here! Their stock is always changing, in fact while we were there we saw pieces coming and going. Staff are super friendly and help if you are looking for something. One thing to note, just in case you decide to buy someone a gift here, they have a no refund policy. So if you buy it, you better be sure you like it! Happy shopping! read more

THe Perfect Piece is a great store. I purchased a new couch and chair from Perfect Piece. I thought it was a direct purchase. It was not. I contacted the vendor on several occasions . She came to my home and agreed to take themfurniture back with a twenty percent restock fee which I agreed to . As of today she has reneged on that agreement. If you are looking for a beautiful piece of furniture, or home decor piece, this is the perfect store, as the name says. I bought the most beautiful, unique pair of lamps for my buffet. They are exquisite and meticulously done by one of the lovely ladies in the store. Not only is this shop filled with incredible things to browse, the ladies there could not have been kinder and more helpful. I contacted The Perfect Piece about consigning items. I spoke with the manager of the store and let her know that I was immuno-compromised. She told me that she did not require her staff to wear masks ("and never did") either inside or outside (to view the items from my car). This is completely irresponsible and shows absolutely no respect for other people. Some might be immuno-compromised like myself, and others may have loved ones they need to protect. In contrast, vendors coming into my home, waitstaff at restaurants, and workers at retail establishments all have had no problem putting on a mask when requested. These people show that they care about other people and are responsible citizens. Unlike the manager at The Perfect Piece. I recommend not doing business with this company as a result. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I try to get over to Perfect Piece at least once a month to see what new stuff they have. So many consignment stores I go in have pieces that are so high-end or eclectic that most people wouldn't have use for them in their homes, but PP has something for everyone it seems. Today I drove 45 minutes to this shop because I have always loved the pieces there. I went in and purchased a piece of furniture for our baby nursery. The piece is lovely and I went to the counter and paid and went outside to put the seats down in my car to fit the item I bought. Unfortunately as I walked right back in to help get the item out to my car I heard the staff talking about how rude I was for not helping load my purchase on the dolly. I was shocked. And although I love what I bought today, unfortunately I will never return to this store again. read more

I have been in this shop many times, love the items I find and have spend hundreds here on furniture and decor. The vendors who I have purchased from are just great and so very friendly. But I have gotten to the point where I won't return. The elderly lady up front (in her 60's) who is always there is extremely unpleasant and snooty. When your business depends on your customer service, I can not comprehend why the face of this store, literally the first person you see when walking in, is so off-putting. I used to love coming in here multiple times a week to spend money but I don't plan on going back with this type of service. Every time I am in I feel I am inconveniencing her and feel as if the little communication I do receive is fake and not genuine. I like to spend money and have now found driving into Raleigh there are plenty of other shops who actually enjoy seeing repeat faces/customers. As a store manager and business owner I just felt the need to leave this feedback in hopes it helps them to hire a more inviting face to represent their business. The staff has always been nice, however lately the owner Betty is not friendly at all. She completely ignores me, in fact goes out of her way to not even acknowledge me. I randomly found this place on the way to a thrift store and I'm so glad I stopped in! Although there are expensive pieces, there are lots that are quite affordable. It's a consignment place so the different areas ("booths") have different types of items. From jewelry to decor to fancy soap, there's a little bit of everything. I "discovered" this store last week and ended up staying there for over an hour! There is so much variety, you are sure to find something! I bought two wonderful items, both very unique and vintage. At first I wasn't sure about an item, but they agreed to hold it for me for a few days, which really sealed the deal. I give them high marks for customer service as well as a wonderful selection of items! While I may have been able to find them at thrift or antique shops for less, it would have taken a lot more time and effort and I might have overlooked them. The Perfect Piece is the best store I have been to in a long time and I had a wonderful time shopping there today. I really did find the perfect piece for my room and it was like it was meant to be.
