How much you enjoy shopping at Sleep Country may be influenced by who the sales person is that is "up" when you walk in the door. Sort of like a car dealership. That we enjoyed shopping here may largely be because we drew Bob Hand as our sales person. Friendly, knowledgeable, no pretense kind of guy. Broad inventory here. Price points across mattresses at Sleep Country include something for every budget, ranging from a few hundred dollars to over three thousand with the biggest selection at mid range. Of course, prices posted on the mattresses are MSRP and just as with a car, no buyer actually PAYS those sticker prices. In the end, we didn't buy a mattress from Sleep Country. It was not be for the lack of effort by Bob trying to find the right mattress for us from the name brands in their store including Temperpedic (many), Sealy (lots), Serta (a couple), and Simmons (oodles). But there was really only one mattress of the many we "test drove" at Sleep Country that came pretty close to meeting our comfort preferences. It was one of the more spendy ones so we figured for the price, it ought to be just right. not pretty close. We found "just right" elsewhere, as much as we would have liked to do business with Bob. There are things we liked about this retailer. Here goes: 1) This is the only retailer we could find which provides a free money back comfort guarantee on mattress returns made within 100 nights. Others charge $99 for the return and some also require you to exchange it for another mattress they carry. Sleep Country gives you your money back. No return fee. 2) Large inventory was nicely laid out in a way that invites buyers to come in and try the mattresses, along with easy to use descriptions at each. Everything on floor seemed well maintained. A good impression is made from the moment the door is opened. 3) A company wide commitment to equal access at all store locations. (There was even a brochure right by the front door that outlines the same.) This may explain why we saw several visibly disabled people, along with their partners, come in while we were shopping. Sleep Country recognizes good access is good for business. All shoppers benefit from the wide aisles and barrier free setting. Cool. 4) Knowledgeable, no pressure sales staff who help shoppers narrow down the options. As PS I'll offer that friends of ours bought a mattress from Sleep Country recently and had the same great sales experience as did we and they are happy with the choice they made. read more

Went in to buy a mattress last minute and got the best service from Jared. I had relatives coming into town that afternoon and discovered that my dogs had popped the blow up mattress that they were going to sleep on.. (not to mention this was the second blow up mattress they have popped lol).. so I was in a hurry to find a queen sized mattress that fit my needs! Came in the store to buy a memory foam mattress for a guest bedroom. Chris one of the store employee approached me within minutes of entering the store. He talked with me about what I was looking for an got me to lay down on several mattresses an I decided to buy a traditional spring mattress with a pillow top. While I like memory foam myself I came to understand that not all people do. Maybe I made a mistake since my guest may now want to stay longer! It was a little expensive, but they will haul away the 35 year old mattress when they deliver the new mattress which is worth something! I bought a mattress here last spring and for the first few months, I loved it. Then it started to sag. Badly. Mattresses are supposed to last more than three months! Now I've had it for only eight months and can't sleep on my back, because the sagging shape makes my back concave, which leads to back pain. I submitted a warranty claim and was told this amount of sagging was normal. Every night, I think about how much I hate this mattress. Spend your money elsewhere! read more

The sales person was helpful, however the delivery team sucks. They told me they would call a day before and set up a delivery time the day I requested the delivery. I got an email the day before with a time slot that they might come. The day of they called me 15 minutes in advance to tell me that they were on their way however I was at work and could not reach my phone. They called me when they arrived once again I could not reach my phone. Then I called the store and they are very rude about the delivery. I'm the customer and this is a very sad and disappointed experience. The person who answered the phone was named Zack and he was very rude and unhelpful. We had the worst customer service satisfaction ever, Seth was not honest before purchasing this, he never mentioned about us getting a clearance mattress which who knows was being used by who too. Besides of that I 'm trying to make the full payment and be done with this but apparently they need more than 15 days so far and I have to call everyday to the company that I am financing my bed sheet sets and until now 12/12/16 they don't have any information. Totally dissatisfaction and disappointment, when we returned our brand new mattress from Costco we thought we may get a better quality but they didn't send me a brand new mattress which are the ones I tried when I went to the store before I purchased one. Delivery and set-up of the new bed was at no extra charge, and everyone I dealt with was friendly and worked with me to make sure I stayed within my budget. My previous experience is why I came back for my mossy recent purchase - a king size bed for myself... and since my son is now a 6'1" teenager, my old queen bed is getting handed down to him. Checked out several of the mattress stores in town, our final stop was Sleep Country. Lucky for us Seth was in the store and couldn't have been more helpful. Like Nana N. and Paige C. said, Seth is tops. Great personality, knowledgable, engaged and helped us achieve our goal. We happily walked out with two double size beds and all the trimmings and stayed right within budget. They have a decent selection and a wide range of prices. If you aren't too picky you can mix and match and they will check with other stores to find what you are looking for. They also have all the trimmings to go with the mattress, bed frames, pillows, mattress pads, sheets, etc. The only snafu was on the delivery. For reasons that are unclear to me and quite frankly had nothing to do with me, the guys delivering had some sort of problem. They apologized and the one who seemed especially out of sorts came back and knocked on my door after they were all done to apologize. All's well that ends well. read more

My other bed was 10-years old and I didn't realize how bad it was until I bought another brand new one. The manager of this store is who sold us the bed & accessories that I wanted but it never felt pushed, it felt clean, it felt comfortable and the exact perfect bed was purchased, set up during delivery. I'll make this short and sweet. Purchased a memory foam mattress in July. I tried to love it, but was waking up with backaches most mornings. So, after 60+ nights, I went in this morning to exchange it for something else. They claim "hassle free" exchange, and they mean it. We went in with the desire to see a Purple mattress, we were greeted by Seth who proceed to try and get us to look at ANYTHING other than what we wanted to see. He was full of comments about Purple, most of them negative saying that they try to not sell those as they have a 70 percent return... then why even carry them? We agreed to entertain him by looking at another mattress, only after looking at the Purple mattress. He walked us over a small row of fairly dirty mattresses and asked us to try them. When we balked about laying down on a dirty mattress he stormed off saying "Well I guess there is nothing I can do to help you" nodding towards the door. Absolutely terrible experience! My Husband and I went in to Mattress Firm to look at mattresses. Our initial experience seemed okay and we decided to by a mattress from them. They told us we had a 120 day trial period and if we didn't like the mattress we could exchange it or return it. When you look on their website, it says that their restocking fee "(restocking fee must not exceed $500)." What they don't make clear is that the discounted pillows (which are absolutely terrible/hard as a rock pillows) we got were only a discount if we kept the bed. All the sudden they are now saying that for us to return the bed we would have to pay over $1600.00. When we told them we wanted to return the bed, because we hate it, the sales people were aggressive and rude. We were extremely careful to keep the bed in good condition (we purchased the water proof mattress cover that they recommended). When they came to pick up the mattress, they said their was a small stain and they would not take it back. I spent 30 minutes looking for this small stain and couldn't find anything. I recommend no one ever shop at Mattress Firm. It is a rip off, a scam and a money grab. They have terrible sales people who are aggressive and rude. Now I seem to be stuck with a bed I hate even when they were very assuring we would have 120 days to return it if we weren't satisfied. DO NOT SHOP AT MATTRESS FIRM!! read more

Worse experience ever! Everything that we thought we bought, or was offered to us, did not happen. Delivery guys were supposed to move our old mattress and install the new bed. Delivery was about 7 hours late than the original time, it was only one guy doing deliveries, he couldn't move or install anything, he said 'he was just delivering'. We got a different mattress, we couldn't help him moving anything because customers aren't allow to help carrying stuff. One piece was missing, he left everything at our door entrance and on top of everything, our house is a 2 story house, so things needed to be carry upstairs and our old mattress down stairs. Mattress firm warranty was well honored and replacement mattress got delivered on time with team wearing foot covering. When walking around corners within a home it is important to not drag one's hands on the walls and around corners. That was the only item that could see improvement. Smells great in here. Walked in, was warm moving from mattress to mattress, however, Seth was calm and patience, totally took care of my wife who is a VERY VERY picky shopper! In the end WE DID leave making a purchase that was totally informed and excited about. We also learned that the almost 10 year old Sealy we have likely didn't survive due to our bedsets 3 braces ask running horizontally, not 2 running that way with a center support beam running vertically down the spine of the box spring. Here's a play by play! 1st thing, we walk in and Seth stops his convo with Jennifer (the other salesman) to attend to us. We answer with, "we just need a new bed". Seth says ok then starts to ask where we've checked out other retailers. We advised we have and asks about our education with them, talk about why the beds feel the way they do? We didn't. 2nd thing, my wife is undecided on the bed and comfort level. Im sure I know what she's going to like, but that she's not going to like the cost. Then again, cost didn't even get talked about. Bravo salesman, bravo!! 3rd thing, after testing 4 different beds, then going back to the one she said, "wasn't bad" her opinion changed to , "i like that one alot" We are now getting a new mattress and box spring, mattresses covers all on SuperBowl Sunday! Seth spent the better part of an hour educating us and being human while assisting 2 other couples. Never dropping his demeanor nor customer service. Of course the Google reviews are great since they offer a discount in the store if you give them a 5 star review before leaving. Just spent approx. $5,000 and the sales rep was so personable, knowledgeable and helpful.... until we made the purchase and left the store. My wife has never had lower back pain until now; the pillows we were told where the best ever are like bricks and the vibration feature that we were told would be quiet is so loud it wakes the kids. All of a sudden the great service went down the tube! Nothing they can do about the pillows, your stuck with the noisy vibration and was told "It is incredibly normal to hate your new bed for 2-3 months. You guys have not given the mattress enough time". A full return will cost $99.99 for them to come out and pick the mattress up and we will incur a 10% restocking free. We are not allowed to take the mattress back ourselves. Use discretion before you buy so you don't have the same experience as we did! read more

Avoid this store. The manager is rude and no one wants to take ownership of the problem. It all started June 22 and now nearly a month later I'm still trying to get my money back. The company takes seven to 10 business days to refund your money. Here's my tale: I bought a bed and headboard and frame. Good price, nice service and fast delivery. Great right? Guess again. The bed, the frame and a headboard arrive on a Sunday as planned, but without the bolts to hold it all together. I refuse delivery of the headboard and keep the bed and frame for my guests. Delivery set up for a week later. Screws arrive in a ZipLock baggie and no headboard. Refuse delivery of the screws and wait another week for the headboard and screws to arrive together. They do, only this time the headboard and frame don't connect. Ok. I'm done. Call the store to have all the merchandise returned and get told I have to pay a $79 restocking fee. Don't think so. Now I'm trying to find out where my money is and I'm still waiting. Rude, bad customer service and the manager fights with you on the phone. read more

Beyond frustrated with our overall purchasing experience. My SO and I came in just wanting to check out different beds and see what we liked. It was around Black Friday so there were some good deals and we ended up purchasing a bed with some push from our sales associate. Jared promised a 100% refund back to the account if we decided we wanted to cancel anything. He told us to buy all the extra warranty, this and that, saying I could call anytime and cancel them with absolutely no questions asked. We had decided we didn't want the power base warranty so I called to cancel it and he hounded me saying how important it is and really need it no matter what. He also told me that I will lose my 3 years interest free if I cancel it which he literally NEVER mentioned before. He kept on and on, finally offered to take $50 off so I said whatever I will keep it. During the buying process, he said my payment will be $54 and I just received my payment which is $81. I am currently pregnant with twins and will not be working which I told him that and we wanted to keep the cost as low as possible and the $54 interest free for 3 years really sold me on the bed. Receiving a higher bill was extremely disappointing today. Honestly I feel like if we tried to return the bed within their 30 days policy, he would hound and haggle more, not honoring anything he promised. In August 2013, we went here looking for a king bed that was similar to what is used in hotels, the salesman told us that those were cheap junk and he just could not sell us one in good conscious... We bought a Simmons Recharge 1000 luxury firm, when delivered a few days later, it was damaged from the factory, ( stitching pulled out on the seams) so they sent out a replacement right away, one plus for them... After "attempting" to sleep on this brick for a week, we decided it would be better to sleep on the ground. We called them and they agreed to send out a softer version of the same model as per the agreement that they would replace any bed that we didn't like. The original agreement also included the purchase of a $75.00 mattress cover or they would not take any bed back, our cover that we had from a previous "deal" would not do. After a few weeks in this new bed, a softer version of the same model, we found that the memory foam used in the top was way too hot for the missus to sleep in. I had no serious issues with it other than the squishy feel of the memory foam,, but I can sleep on a rug on the floor and be OK. We called them and advised that this bed would not do..it was too hot and not meeting our needs. We were told that we had used up our allotment of replacements as "only one exchange is allowed" they said???? this is a little different than when we first went in. We were stuck with a bed that really didn't meet our needs. So we kept it and tried various ways to keep it cool with mattress covers etc. Be careful when dealing with these used car salesmen,,, read the small print and ignore any and all promises. Better yet.. go elsewhere. Simmons is much different that it was many years ago, they are not the same quality as the 70's or 80's. We have had Simmons beds in the past that lasted many years but this one is trash. After 1 1/2 years there are large valleys where we sleep and the memory foam is a "way too hot" issue. We were happy to see it loaded on the truck and hauled away today after delivery of a standard "no memory foam" type of bed. read more

My wife and I had decided to get a new mattress since our 300$ mattress that we'd had for many years just wasn't cutting it anymore. we figured we'd try out a nicer mattress and see if it was worth the extra money, so we ended up at mattress firm because they advertised a 120 day trial period (sounds good right?). Wellllll after about a month we decided that the 6000$ "intellibed" that we'd been sleeping on was actually no better than our busted 300$ mattress. So off to the store we went to talk about an exchange. As soon as the associate found out we wanted to swap out our 6000$ mattress for a 2000$ one things started to get ugly. The associate kept aggressively insisting that we should keep trying out the expensive mattress and then informed us that the "small" restocking fee for the exchange would actually be 600$! (not my idea of small) so after that outrageous claim my wife and I decided it would be best to just cut our losses, return the mattress, and go with a less shady company. Now this is were it gets really bad... I was then told it was going to be 2200$ to return the mattress!!! Apparently the adjustable frames that come with the mattress are non refundable (why I have no clue) and the restocking fee doubles if your returning the mattress!!! so even after all that we still wanted to return the mattress out of shear principle...they sent out a couple guys to pick it up and when i pulled the mattress protector off they claimed they saw a small stain on the matress and said they couldnt take a return. I appealed and sent in my own photos and videos of the mattress proving there was no stains and still nothing. so now we have a 6000$ bed that we hate and can do nothing with. Dont be fooled by the 120 day trial, its a trap to get you stuck with the first mattress you get. Also if you want a mattress we have one for 5000$ brand new NO STAINS lol. read more

I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews here. I think it comes down to getting the right sales person. Our results were absolutely fantastic, because we got Steve, the manager to help us. We also did a fair bit of research before, and knew exactly what brand we wanted. All we needed to do is narrow down the options, which Steve was able to help us with. He was also able to educate us on features without us feeling like we were being upsold. Financing was painless, and with a little bit of luck I will post an addendum after the mattress and base are delivered in one week. read more

I have been shopping all over town for a set of twin mattresses for a bunk bed frame I just purchased from a friend. So I can say I have gotten a flavor for the different bed stores in town the past few days. This one left me nothing but a bad taste in my mouth. The young man that helped me was a fast talking shark to say the least and looked disgusted when I didn't want to spend over a thousand dollars on two twin sets. When I told him I had found some at another store for 1/3 of the price he told me their product was cardboard and substandard. In a very snarky and demeaning manner. I bought our last mattress from that local business and it is one of the very best I have had in my 43 years on this planet. Not to mention if was supporting local owned and manufactured products. First he had to tell us about some big sale and how we have to try the 3 different bed 95% bs fall in love crap. Strong arm un professional sales tactics. Do your self a favor and go anywheres else. Why buy a mattress anywhere else??? Because these people suck! I would rather visit a used car lot and deal with a used car salesman, over these people! Their only focus is maximizing the sale, not customer service. If I wasn't in a poor situation at the moment and didn't need in-house financing, I would have "bought a mattress anywhere else." This company needs to put a strong focus on customer service and incentivize that aspect of their business, not just incentivizing through commission profits - because it truly shows. Sleep Country outlet store salesperson Josh was VERY helpful, patient and found us the bed I want. Looks like the perfect place for a nap, but after reading other reviews I guess some people don't like to see anyone resting. Not to worry, our guy Josh was awake and readily sent all my favorites to my email and my wish list so my bed is merely a few clicks away. :). Ps bought an expensive bed at Bed Mart, I will never shop there again. My $3000 bed was horribly uncomfortable, salesperson assured us it had 30 year warranty. When I complained after 6 months about back pain and could see depressions in the mattress, he told my husband to put a board w weights on it so it would even out! Really?
