Worst experience!! I ordered my adjustable bed online. When it arrived, there were no brackets for the headboard. I ordered brackets from the Gilroy store; they delivered the wrong brackets with no directions. One of the associates tried to make it right and said he would have warehouse installed brackets and the headboard I purchased online from Mattress Firm. The delivery team refused to install the headboard. When I called the store, I was asked to install the headboard myself. This is the worst customer service I have ever received! It was time for a new mattress and what luck, it was Memorial Day Weekend. We went in Friday night after work "just to look." Deborah showed us the tester models and helped us find our perfect type of mattress. After Jorge worked some magic, I was able to finance a King sized pillow top and it came with a FREE adjustable base! Sooooo awesome for watching tv in bed! We even won a free pillow by guessing the number of kisses in the candy jar (only off by 1!). The best part? It was delivered just 2 days later and they showed up just 10 minutes after the time window; 4:10 and we were told from 4-6. So After weeks of pulling teeth. Finally Mattress Firm sent what they call a "contractor" out to fix my wall. I could not believe it. The guy they sent to fix the hole was the same guy who delivered the mattress and put the wholes there and ran off without saying anything. Are you kidding me!?!?!? First of all he is not a licensed contractor and second why would I want this shady character back in my house. Then he tries to justify not seeing the holes and saying he told me I was buying clearance. As if buying clearance justifies crappy service. I am at a lose of words at the lack of professionalism. I run a short term rental business and have purchased many beds. Marcie helped me find the perfect bed, she was super informative and there was no pressure for me to make up my mind. After you have laid on half a dozen beds it's hard to make that final decision. Marcie was an excellent sales person. I was informed after the sale the base I ordered (the cheapest base) was not available but would get the new upgraded one. It's awesome! I love it. Has massage, the head and feet raise. An added extra cool thing is that the remote for the bed has a flash light built in as well as a light to light up under the bed. No more stubbed toes on the way back to the bed at night. So I actually bought a Mattress here like a month ago because I was moving to my own place and the customer service was amazing. I told the employee Alvin that I would write a review because of how great the service was and I still haven't forgot about my promise. He had the patience to ask us so many questions and allowed me and my girlfriend to test some mattresses in the most sanitary he was able to find. I had been sleeping on the floor for over a year and half and my back is full of knots and I'm only 23. He was able to find me a great price and now sleeping in my bed for a couple of weeks I can say he found me a great mattress as well . I didn't forget and I'm writing this review for a reason! I got a mattress, box spring + cover(which I hate, it's plastic + it causes the sheets to slip off the bed + you can't return them FYI). Initially it was a great experience. The clerk was knowledgeable + efficient. Delivery was quick. When I got the items, I was horrified that I had gotten the wrong size. (My frame was purchased used, I was told it was Cal King) I called + talked to the same clerk. He said we could swap them for a small fee. I do not live in the town, so I made a special trip and had a different clerk. after about 30 min of waiting, she told me it was going to be $1200. Over $1000 difference. I now wasted my time driving there, and will be stuck with the bed that doesn't fit. It's 100% my fault that I ordered the wrong bed, but the inconsistent options + poor training didn't make this a good experience once it was said + done. So read the fine print about the guarantee because it'll cost you if you don't like it! For $1200, I could just buy another bed. It will not be from here however! read more

Don't fall for their "10 year warranty" selling point. Its a total scam. The slightest "stain", even from sweat or dirt, completely voids this warranty. The only way to keep it from staining or getting dirty is to use one of those super uncomfortable water proof mattress covers. My mattress completely fell apart due to manufacturing defects and they told me my warranty was void because it was a little dirty on the opposite side of where it fell apart from. I WAS a repeat customer until this last experience I had with this store. I ordered my base and mattress on 2/18. I had the delivery date pushed out twice, with less than 24 hours before it was supposed to be delivered. I took two days off of work so I could be home for delivery! When I spoke with the "district manager" (Aldofo) he was ABSOLUTELY no help at all. He put the blame on Simmons and basically said he couldn't give me a delivery date because if it was pushed out again I would be "mad at them"! It was like I was dealing with a child. When I asked Aldofo to refund my $4K+ purchase he said they would "when their accounting gets around to it". I had to contact the corporate offices to finally get someone who could help! She was very knowledgeable about why our old box spring and frame are making noises. She educated us in the importance of choosing the right box spring and taught us what we should look for. Stepped into the Gilroy store to start our new mattress adventure, had one for 14 (ack) years, needed a new one! Eric Wilson asked a bunch of questions, found a couple for us to lay on, then asked more questions and narrowed down the field. Never once was super pushy or aggressive. We had him write down 2 different styles so we wouldn't forget. We left without being chased out the door and felt good about the customer service. Shopped around at a few other stores, found one or two we liked also. Came home and husband shopped the 2 or 3 we liked to see what was available. He printed out some information to bring to Sleep Train (we finally picked 1 we really wanted). In the parking lot he looked up the website again and found an even better deal, presented it to Eric and he matched the website price, plus 5%! So 14 years later we only spent $400 more for a WAY better mattress and in the end we saved $700 over what was advertised in our first trip there. He did a great job, didn't pressure us and was helpful. The delivery of the bed was fine, we had to adjust the wooden frame as we HAD an Eastern King and purchased a CA King. The mattress cover we bought was wet for some reason, so we ended up going to Gilroy that night and Eric got us a new one. Two more phone calls to Mattress Firm, have spoken with Isaac and with Gabe. It's been two weeks since the fiasco delivery and still no refund on the delivery fees because they don't know how to fix their own invoices. Incompetent idiots. Escalating it to corporate now, let's see if they're any better than the local store. Final Update: I spoke to a district level person yesterday and he apologized and compensated us with $300 worth of product in addition to our delivery refund. Thank you David! We went to the store today to pick out our free product. I sure wish that Issac hadn't harassed me upon check out by saying, "I don't appreciate you calling me an idiot on Yelp. I'm getting disciplined for this so update your review without the idiot and say all the money you saved and free stuff you got." Seriously??? Completely and totally unprofessional and inappropriate. Walked in right as they opened on Sunday. Already researched and knew what we wanted to buy for our 2.5 year old girl. The lady that helped us was super nice. Didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. My daughter only being 2.5 years old immediately went to the nearest bed and started jumping on it. I pulled her off of it but she went to almost every bed there and did the same thing. Not once did any of the salesmen ask her to stop. Or smurk. Or anything. I really appreciated that. I was trying my best to chase her down and for her to stop. But as many parents know. 2.5 year old's don't listen so well. The sales lady also gave my daughter a toy to play with which she absolutely loves. So thank you again. The bed was delivered at 8:45pm the same night which was kind of late, but it wasn't Sleep Train's fault. It was the delivery service they hire. So they still get a 5 star review from me. read more

I purchased a mattress from the Gilroy showroom 5/2/17. It was supposed to be delivered a few days later. I took the day off work to be home for the delivery. They showed up with a different frame which was broken. They saw it at the warehouse but the warehouse said they had to deliver it and I had to refuse the delivery. I refused it of course. It wasn't even the right frame. Contacted store who said the floor model I paid for was still at their store. Scheduled another delivery for an evening. The delivery was fine this time. However, I didn't like the bed. Iserta 100 foam mattress. Too firm and uncomfortable. I waited 4 weeks to see if it would soften up. It didn't. Went in and picked a much more expensive mattress last week. Delivery scheduled for today. 5/30/17. No one called to give me an estimated delivery time. Store not open until 10am. Finally called Gilroy store at 10am. My bed was not on the delivery schedule because of an incorrect entry made by the salesman. I'm home from work again waiting for a bed that's not coming. They won't deliver until tomorrow due to the long holiday weekend we just had! Their follow through on deliveries is terrible! They don't care about the inconvenience caused to their Customers. Even after the salesman, Gabe, determined it wasn't being delivered he didn't bother to call me back. After 1 1/2 hours, I had to call him to find out the status of the delivery. This happened with the first delivery also. No call back to customers is so unprofessional! Scheduled for tomorrow now. Let's hope they get it right this time. I came in on a Friday and knew what I was looking for. A guy approached me asking what kind of bed I was looking for and I told him; he walked me over to the wall. We quickly picked one and I paid for it. We were in there maybe 10 minutes so it was an easy sale. He told me that it would be there the following week on Thursday. So on Thursday I called around 2 PM and spoke to a lady and she said that to try calling back after 4 PM because they hadn't received heir shipment yet. I called back around 7 PM to see if my mattress was there. She couldn't find my name in their system or my order. She told me that she would look and call me back. But she did not call me back that day. The next day I was going to bring my receipt over there to ask for an update. The lady had called me and told me that the driver never brought the mattress on his truck and it was at the warehouse. I asked her where the warehouse was which is in Oakland and asked if I could pick it up the following day which would be Saturday. Then she said that the warehouse won't be getting my mattress until Wednesday of next week. So if I would've known I wasn't going to get my bed for two weeks, than I would've just went somewhere else. They did deliver it to me without charge. But would have been nice if the driver would have called me letting me know when they were going to be there. read more

I am really happy with my purchase of the BeautyRest mattress from this store. Michelle helped me quickly pick out a new bed for my son who's outgrown his twin. It was a quick and easy process. They were flexible with delivery. Delivery was on time, in the scheduled window, and free of charge. They set up the new frame and bed very quickly. What I am really happy about as well is that they met their price match guarantee. About a week after I bought the mattress, and I thought I had a decent price, I found the same one for a bit less. These guys are very bad news. I was foolish enought to buy a couple of beds and mattresses from tehm a couple of years ago. 1st to the mattresses and beds. One of the very expensive beds litterally fell apart. I had to end up building a plywood support to hold the piece of crap together. The mattress started to kill my back after a couple of years. Flipping the mattress did not do much good. 2nd I was even more foolish to take there "no payments for six months". That was a disaster. After two months I went back to the store and asked "where is my bill" I want to pay this off. The answer "don't worry about it you'll get something soon". I did! I got a call from a collection agency month three. Paid the ballance off immidiately, and they 'still' trashed my credit. Sleep Train refused to do anything to help. Fought witht the finance company for six months. Finally, got a letter from them saying that they would remove the bad mark. It took six months and $500 bucks in legal costs. These guy are very bad news stay away from them. I wish I could give less than one star. read more

I'm questioning "Simmons" warranty and "Sleep Trains" customer service? . We bought a brand new high end Simmons black mattress, 5/2/09 $2,000. With 20yr warranty. After 3 yrs it's developed two hammocks, one on each side. We followed "Sleep Train's" inspection process. Sleep Train's third party inspector came to look at it and found 1@ 2" sag right side and 1@ 1 3/4" sag left side. He also indicated that he observed no disqualifying items such as stains or tares, and both the box spring and framing looked great. Then again my wife was told everything looked good, the box spring was not broken and all supports were present. . Today I discovered the warranty has been DECLINED because the box spring did not have "Simmons" name on it. Wait a minute. Didn't the inspector just confirm that EVERYTHING was proper? YES. If so what's the difference between brand A and brand B box springs, if they are in the proper condition, regardless of the name. The issue is a sagging mattress not a sagging or broken box spring. (Box spring was reported fine). . I'm not sure who to trust, Should we not trust SIMMONS or Sleeptrain? What to do and who to trust is the big question. Are we supposed to never shop with them again or will someone make this right??? read more

They get 4 stars, They started out with 1 star, but Garrett, the new manager saved their review with his professional and very human handling of me after we bought a Tempur-pedic mattress from them that was like an assault on our entire house for 4.5 days, until they removed it. Just to make sure I was not crazy, I asked them; "you guys can smell this, right?" and they said, "oh yeah, no, this one is strong". Once they removed it, the smell was gone instantly. This shows you it was not just the air in the room. That sucker was actively continuing to out-gas even after 6 days. Imagine opening a container of gasoline in your room. Not that it smelled like gasoline itself, but you can imagine how, no matter where you were in the room, the smell was there, and very strong. So, back to around day two: I called my rep at the store and he suggested I "walk on it" to encourage the mattress to out-gas. WTF? I am 50 years old, just spent $2500 on a damned mattress, and I have to work for the mattress FIRST to get it to work for me???? I actually did walk on the damned thing, 3 times that day. Closed the windows after out-gassing it, and it STILL filled the room. So, the day after Thanksgiving, it's black Friday, my wife and I are sleeping in the guest bedroom or on airbeds, and I am desperate to get rid of this thing. I call the store, my salesman is not there and I am talking to Garrett, who when I tell him what's up identifies himself as the manager and proceeds to handle the issue without question. I get off the phone and am satisfied Sleep Train will remove the mattress that night. He also allows us to keep the Tempur-pedic free pillows, which came with the mattress deal, "for our trouble". This was a really good gesture. BTW: those pillows are ALSO still out-gassing and too strong to sleep on... I am farting with them, folding them up, putting weights on them, trying to tumble them in the dryer on delicate heat, etc to get the gas out, but the gas is nothing like the mattress. But still, planting your nose on a petro-chemical out-gas pad? No thanks. We can use our current pillows till these things settle down. Now I am on a mission to go back to where we were thinking of going in the first place and buy a Sears Sealy spring mattress with a bit of a foam top. I call Sears and they cannot get one for us for 8 days, since they custom-order each one and they are made to order. Now, this is great and all, but bear in mind, Sleep Train already removed and disposed of our King Bed. I am 6'5" and need to not be sleeping in a Queen, banging my elbows into my wife, so we need a bed. I then do the full research to figure out Sears Depot has out-of-box items, factory refurbs, and mattresses with scratches on them, etc, and they are crazy cheap. I check the website for availability and find the mattress we want, but they are all floor models. At this point, we say, screw that, we need to buy a new mattress. Not wanting to give Sleep Train our business, I do some research and figure out Sleep Train does, indeed carry Sealy, and a similar mattress (not exact, Sealy does make some cool mattresses for Sears, and I would have shopped there, if we had time) and has similar sales. I called Garrett back, and first asked him: do you guys have this mattress and IN STOCK (not 8 days away, like Sears). They did, and he immediately got online and looked up Sears to make sure he could get us an equivalent mattress and match their price, and delivered it that night when they took the smelly one away. 1 star missing for not mentioning the smell, at the start. read more
