Nice selection at reasonable prices. Helpful and friendly lady! If I lived closer, I would be coming here often!

Susan was fantastic. The succulents were beautiful and she had a great variety. Very reasonably priced. Definitely worth the detour.

Our landscape contractor referred us to JC and Greenfield as good locations for ornamental grasses…read morefor the front of our house. We stopped at a few others as well. JC was hidden away on a side road but the plants were by far the healthiest and most beautiful. The selection of Canna, native grasses, succulents, and vibrant cordline, fruit trees and more really wowed us. Prices were at least 20-40% less than what you'd see at Home Depot or large scale nursery. Jose, the owner was super helpful and consulted us on location, spacing and care requirements for the 12 plants we purchased. He also offered local delivery! Was especially happy with the tiger canna we got for quite a steal. Looking forward to cultivating more plants with Jose's help. 10/10 for any local landscaping needs, particularly if you are looking for shrubbery or native grasses/Drought tolerant.

We did research and decided on Prunus Carolinana aka Cherry Laurel. We checked a number of local nurseries and found poor selection and sky high prices. I found JC Nursery on Yelp and decided a trip to San Martin was in order. It was an easy drive on 85 and 101 and we were so delighted when we arrived. A huge place with tons of plants, trees and flowers. All beautifully organized. Jose helped us to find what we needed and we had so much to choose from. They share a location with another great Nursery called "Happy Face," which I plan on visiting soon. The plant quality was excellent and the prices were fantastic. Plus we took a nice ride in the country and saw all sorts of animals including alpacas. I call that a win! We will be going back soon.

Beautiful quality, incredibly healthy, already nearly taller than the established shrubs, and very reasonably priced at $129. They helped load it, answered questions, and made the whole process easy. All I have left to do is widen the hole I already dug. You can see a dip in the existing row from an earlier Photinia replacement several years ago from Costco. Love Costco but sometimes you don't want to wait. Thanks Chris!

I spoke with a friend about our experiences at Johnson's, and we both agreed, it feels like walking into an old western saloon where everyone knows "you ain't from around these parts!" I was looking to buy a magnolia, but wanted to know what the differences were, which is better for our environment, so I approached an employee who tried to avoid eye contact with me until he could do it no longer. He started stammering when I asked if he knew anything about the trees I had considered contenders. He fumbled with his walky-talky to try to find someone else to help me, but spotted (who I found out later was the manager) watering plants in the vicinity. He asked her if she could help and she replied rudely with "WHAT?" as she clearly saw me (the customer) asking a question. He stammered nervously and she followed up with "What do you want?" I jumped in and asked my questions about which is best and she said, "They're all pretty much the same." I asked if any were better for our climate/environment and she said with an attitude, "We don't sell anything that doesn't grow around here." She then curtly turned away and went on with watering the plants. I did not feel copacetic with her "customer service," so I bought my tree and decided not to go back. I would rather go to an establishment with less selection, but better service. Also, the prices are on the higher side for some things, but reasonable for others, it just depends on what it is. Either way, Home Depot works for me from now on, and if they don't have what I want, I'll research somewhere other than Johnson's. It's a shame, too, because the place is like walking through a botanical garden, only the vibe given by the staff is that "it ain't big enough for the both of us!"
