In store service was great especially with Debra. Problems started the delivery of the mattress being so haphazard and they sent three guys who worked so fast that I wasn't able to see the mattress until they left. When making up the bed, I found a 3-4" hole in top of the mattress. I called for an exchange and when the replacement mattress came the delivery guys argued with me that their warehouse manager would not accept it back as he didn't have the paperwork....insane. They said we should just use bedding to cover up the hole! Debra and our salesperson, Lauren, had previously sent in all the documents to support picking up this mattress and replacing it. Finally, we got our replacement mattress and within 2 months it developed a large swale/dip and we went to the store and saw Debra and told her we were done with Mattress Firm and wanted a refund. The District Manager was there and he gave us a difficult time....first trying to charge a restocking fee and then trying to upgrade to another mattress. We were done. If it weren't for Debra, we would have been out of luck! In summary, the in store staff were great but the warehouse and return process is horrible. Never again. read more

I was shopping for a new mattress about 2 months ago...I had intended on purchasing (upgrading from a Queen to a Cali. King) just before the NY PAUSE order lockdown went into effect. In fact, my new king frame had just been delivered to my home about a week before the lockdown went into effect here in NY. There was one other customer in the store when I went in. When the salesman, Keith, approached me shortly after the customer had finalized her purchase, he was very helpful, knowledgeable and a real pleasure to deal with, a very good salesperson, unlike some of the awful ones I had the displeasure of interacting with over the years. I had a very good experience and gained a lot of valuable knowledge from Keith in order to help me make my purchase. I was not pressured at all, but made to feel very comfortable (no pun intended) while trying out all of the mattresses. I ended up purchasing a Simmons Beautyrest Black mattress which I've had for several weeks now and my husband and I are VERY happy with it. The delivery process was totally seamless, as well. Recently wrote a negative review of this business because of a failure to disclose the possibility of a delivery delay that they were aware of. As mentioned I had to sleep on the floor for a couple of days because of it. Management did respond immediately and they did apologize for the misunderstanding. They did deliver the mattress albeit two later, but it was during the time frame described and the delivery staff were very professional and courteous. The bed and all other items were included. I have no issues with the bed and wanted to be fair and re-rate this firm. Kudos to management for keeping their eye on the customers satisfaction. read more

Horrible, rude customer service as soon as your sale is done. Their prices were mediocre, selection was mediocre, but the manager has no regard for customer service after the sale. Typical sleazy mattress sales staff (as my son described it, "the most soul crushing job ever"). My son brought the old mattress out to the driveway to be helpful. On their way out, instead of taking it away as promised, the left it there. They said company policy was that they could not take it because it was "wet". It was not, it had snow beneath it, but it was not wet. Multiple calls to the "manager" to complain were ignored, promised return calls never came. When my son asked to escalate it to the corporate office, they refused to give him the phone number! He also bought sheets for the bed, and was told that they would arrive by mail before the bed arrived. Nope, that was a lie. The bed came the sheets did not. He is out buying new sheets right now. Never again. Avoid them like a plague. read more

I went into this location last night and was greeted by a very friendly young lady named Emily. She helped me and my husband find a great mattress. She was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. I felt bad because we kept her a little bit after closing but she reassured us it was fine. I did not feel rushed and she was so positive the whole time. We will be recommending this store and Emily for anyone we know that is in the market for a mattress. :) read more

So update-after much complaints filing fraud charges phone call complaining to the federal fraud bureau etc. etc. mattress firm did come and pick up the adjustable base. While I am pleased they did I reserve additional judgement until my money is actually refunded. The manager at the Kingston store was very helpful. BUY YOUR MATTRESS ELSEWHERE! Over the course of the last 8 years we have purchased 8 mattresses from Sleepy's - all from the same store. You'd think I'd get a reward for being a great customer? Being put first for delivery? Anything? These people call themselves "The Mattress Professionals"? NOT! They are most certainly selling professionals and then can't back up the service end. Most recently my husband and I purchased a king size mattress and box spring set. After about 18 months the mattress had a major depression in the middle (by the way I weigh 120 and my husband 148 0 hardly people that would cause such a depression). We called Sleepy's to let them know about the problem and to make a claim under the warranty. I then had to experience their warranty procedure. First, while I'm on the phone the service person asks me to take off all the sheets, etc , move the mattress and box spring (luckily I have some muscle) and look at how many legs and slats my bed frame has - with out the proper number my warranty would be voided. Everything seems to be in order (including having the proper mattress cover) so they tell me someone will call to be making a home visit to inspect the mattress. The woman calls and says she can come on a saturday or sunday but gives me basically a nearly all day window of time. SHe comes on the appointed day, and I witness her scientific procedure: a string with a washer tied at each end that she throws across the mattress and then uses a ruler to measure the depression. She also takes some photos. Never get a call back, so I follow up and am told my warranty has been voided because I dont have enough slats and legs to support the king size mattress! I have a custom made hard wood Baker furniture bed. No one ever told me when I purchased the mattress the requirements. It is explained that if I want to keep the warranty intact I can rectify the problem and then call back to have another home visit. Next I hire a carpenter to come and attach the appropriate size piece of wood down the center of my slats. I then call back to make the next home visit appointment. Guess what? We have a defective mattress! Wow! Could've told you that long ago. So now I wait and wait to get the notice in the mail with the voucher that alots me a $1500 credit (we originally spent about $2200) for a replacement. We go in the store and of course the replacement is an "upgrade" and a brand change so we have to get new boxsprings as well. That costs us a few hundred dollars additional. The arrangements are made and I still have high hopes. Today was delivery day. I was given a 9 am until noon spread. I take the morning off from work to wait for the delivery. I have a 1:30pm appointment back in my office. At 11:40am I call sleepy's and am told my spread was 9am until 1pm and that I am the next delivery. I get a call from the driver - he made it to my driveway and realized he had a transmission problem and went to a nearby gas station before making my delivery. Really??? They finally arrive at my house at 1:20pm and begin to unload. They look in the bedroom and say their paperwork includes only the removal of the mattress, not the box springs. How can that be? It doesn't make any sense. I call the store and am told they can't help, the driver has to call his dispatch office. The driver asks to use my phone as he has no service in the area. They finally cart away the entire set. Needless to say I missed my 1:30 appointment. Let's just hope the mattress is comfortable! Never again Sleepy's! read more

WE bought a mattress from edwin. we ened up not liking it but no big deal. we went back and another nice gentlemen said wait 30 days to see if it works out and come back and we will show something else. we went back 30 days later and edwin said call customer service. we lef tthe store and called temperpedic and mattress firm. they told up to go to the store to do the return. Went back the next day. He told me the same thing. back and forth back and forth. i said they told me to come here. so he tells me to try a mattress . he will help the other customer. he was stupid rude. i ened up leaving. so kindly went to brewster ny store. very nice, help me in and out 20 minutes. read more

I was able to take my time to relax on the beds, and once I chose the mattresses I wanted he worked to bring the price down by suggesting another frame option. Prior to walking into Mattress Firm of Poughkeepsie, my boyfriend and I were mattress shopping for 6 HOURS! I was exhausted and tired, and we needed someone to point us in the right direction with what kind of mattress we should go with. Our sale associate, Erika, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and helpful to us. She took her time, and learned what we were looking for. She helped us narrow down it down to a bed the few bed that was v comfortable to us, and what we could afford. Some of the other mattress stores in that area were trying to sell us on 7-9,000 dollar mattresses. We still paid a bit of money but she was just fantastic. Came to the store in a Saturday and got our bed on Tuesday. Delivery was no fuss, except they were an hour and 15 mins early so I was still at work but thankfully my mom ran over to let them in. I've had delivery men leave the house a mess w/ the floors and what not but they were clean and easy. Set the bed up nicely. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER....please do not be fooled by the free stuff...you are being charged. It is like buying a car all they do is say " we need to show that you have the merchandise " but what they do is mark 500.00 off a already over priced mattress and then charge you 500.00 in pillows or sheets etc.....when I went back I was yelled at by a salesman Frank rude rude rude....I would love to cancel except hubby wants the mattress but it was the worst experience ever..was overcharged then they credited someone else card so another hassle...and finally had to be disrespected again when picking up pillows by who else Frank....warning go anywhere else and don't be fooled by the FREE STUFF!!! Sleepys deserves 0 stars---- for their choice in managers in their Poughkeepsie store!!! Had the worst experience possible after a mattress purchase . Was sold one thing and received delivery of another---was told to return to the store to rectify the problem and that is when the real problems started!!! The manager Kaitlyn was extremely rude and nasty, refused to let us call corporate from the store and locked the door after we went outside to call! No sooner did we receive a solution and an apology from corporate , then 2 police cars drove up surrounding our car!!! They realized quickly that we were upstanding people and were only trying to rectify our situation--- after speaking to the "manager" and the ridiculous situation, we were told we could leave. We have been purchased 3 beds from Sleepy's over the last 25 years. During this time, we were completely satisfied with our purchases and shopping experience. I recently placed an order for another bed for a 3rd bedroom. I put down a large deposit, for a queen size bed and power base. Unfortunately, my situation has changed and I needed to cancel this purchase and get my deposit back. I returned to the store today, Jan.30, 2016 and spoke with the store Manager, Frank G. I asked to cancel the order and have the money credited back to my credit card. He told me that he was unable to credit my card, that he would have to send an e-mail to his district manager to cancel my order. Frank never opened the computer, while I was there to even look at my order. I asked for written confirmation from him that my request was received and would be processed. He said he could not give me a written receipt or notification. I asked him to copy me on the e-mail he said he was going to send his DM, John Pelliter. Frank refused, said he couldn't do that either. He said once he emailed his manager, it could take 7-10 days for my credit to post on my credit card. Funny, how they can your card and process an order in five minutes, but not give credit back in an expedient time frame! Frank told me to call Corporate offices if I had any questions or complaints. I left the store and went home to call the Corporate office. I had a far more satisfying experience speaking with customer service rep, Jeff at call center. I told him how Frank gave me the run around and that I was extremely dissatisfied with the way I was treated by the Poughkeepsie store manager, Frank. Jeff, at Corporate Customer Service, processed my cancellation request in a matter of minutes and informed me that I should see the credit post within the next 48 hours. I am pleased with Jeff's customer service and gave him a commendation by speaking to his manager. However, if I am need of another bed I will never go to the Poughkeepsie Sleepy's or deal with the staff there, ever again! read more
