I bought a solid cherry Amish bed and mule chest. The quality and workmanship is superb. The drawers are finished and silky smooth and the drawers are deep and actually hold a lot of clothes. I have had this for over 10 years and have been able to find only one other kind of furniture that even compares , which is some of the Danish teak. The drawers are full extension and get a lot of use and still are like new. You could open them with your pinky finger. I went to West Elm store just to satisfy myself that it would be worth a purchase and even though the items are pretty, they cannot come close to the quality of this Amish made furniture - not even a little close, so now I do not feel bad that Im not getting any of it. read more

My husband and I went shopping for a new sectional in January to replace our then-current budget Ashley model purchased nearly 8 years ago. We were looking for higher quality furniture and preferred to shop locally, and after checking another locally owned store, along with a chain store, we went to Millspaugh based on a few recommendations. The store is well arranged and spacious, but not overwhelming, making it easy to shop. Overall, we had a great experience. Because I was not overwhelmed with different models and manufacturers, each with their own fabrics, it was easier to try the few sectionals to decide which fit our budget and comfort level. If you want to have 20 options to choose from, this is not the store for you. We found a style that we liked based on comfort/and appearance, and worked to customize the pieces exactly the way we wanted. We did have a variety of fabrics to choose from, and the fabric that we liked on our initial visit to the store could not be found again on our follow up visit. We felt confident picking a different fabric. The salespeople are not at all pushy, and were helpful during the entire process. The owner greeted us the first time we visited the store and we browsed until someone came over to help us. They show you a sample construction of the frame and explain how the frames are manufactured, which is important and is a determining factor in the price. Overall, we had a really positive shopping and delivery experience, and although we spent more than planned based on the couch and fabric we chose, we considered it an investment and were really pleased when the sectional arrived. They estimated 10 to 12 weeks for delivery and we had it in about 8 weeks. They called a week ahead to schedule the delivery, and although the delivery people showed up about a half an hour ahead of schedule on the actual day, the entire delivery process was great as well. We were very happy with our total experience and decided to add a protection plan since we have a 6 year old. We don't anticipate having to replace the sectional any time in the next 15 years and feel confident that we bought a quality piece that will last. read more

I'm reading a few negative reviews of people complaining of Millspaugh, but I've been buying from them for a long time now. My first pieces were 2 country style love seats with matching ottoman and that was about 16 years ago and I still have it and it's still looks good. I've bought 3 floor rugs from them, a country hutch, a recliner and a split king bed and bed frame. I am very pleased with all my purchases from them. I've dealt with Amanda for my last purchases and I found her very friendly and helpful. With all my purchases, whom ever I dealt with, were always professional and courteous and friendly. I needed new springs for my recliner and they sent me new springs free of charge! So I have nothing negative to say about Millspaugh, only good things. I purchased a custom couch 2019- with a six year warranty from the Poughkeepsie location. They told me that if anything should sag, come loose otherwise they would repair it. I had the couch less than one year when the ropes underneath came loose. I called them in Oct 1st, 2020 . Their specialist came out to my home. They set up their people to come , pick up the couch to repair about two weeks later. I had to keep calling every couple of weeks to get the status of the couch. Each time I was told something different- Either it hasn't left their facility yet to go to North Carolina where they repair the furniture- Then I was told The warehouse was shut down due to Covid. Then I was told they lost my couch. Then I was told they found my couch. But now it take several more weeks to to repair it now that they found it. Feeling very upset because now I had no couch for the holidays. I asked for a refund and they said no. I said that is not acceptable I paid almost 3K for this couch. This is an insult . I waited a week before I got a call back saying the best they can do was 10% back. I refused. January came and went and I still had no couch I reached out to The BBB and The Attorney General and my personal attorney . By some way of a miracle the couch was suddenly repaired and ready . HOWEVER- Mr. Millspaugh was angry because I posted on my facebook page about my experience . He wrote up a letter sending it to my attorney offering me 25% back ONLY IF I removed my facebook post about his store. That is extortion! I stated it was my first amendment right as an american to voice my freedom of speech. I refused to sign his paper. He said he would not give me a discount . Well, it is February 23rd 2021, and he still refuses to deliver my couch back to me and it is paid in full - The review was on my facebook but knowing a couch I paid for is being held hostage and he refuses to give me any financial restitution for all the month's I did without a couch. Went to Millspaugh Furniture at the Poughkeepsie location looking for a new bedroom set. I fell in love with a headboard that had gorgeous knots and grain. I purchased the bedroom set based on the headboard they had advertised in the showroom setup. I paid over $8,000.00 for the set including a king size headboard. I was told they had to manufacture the headboard and would deliver the set after it was manufactured. It has been about eight months and I am still waiting for them to actually deliver what they sold me. They have delivered three different headboards that were nothing, and I mean nothing, like the one that they have advertised in the showroom. It is severely disappointing to me considering I purchased a whole bedroom set based on the looks of that specific headboard. I have contacted them numerous times and have heard every excuse from the boards do not look the same to the head board in the showroom is a queen and you asked for a king. I have gone out of my way all the way to their Warwick location to look at headboards which were once again nothing like the one I purchased to begin with. This has been an ongoing battle to get what I actually paid for. I feel that I should not have to put this much time and effort into actually receiving what I purchased. After the blame being passed from one person to another and even store to store, I finally spoke to the owner and still have had no results. I would not recommend them to anyone!!!!!
