Warranty is nonexistent. Bought a Tempurpedic mattress for nearly 10K. Suppose to be the best they have. Failed after 4 years and the only way they will look at a warranty issue is to see photos. Mattress Wharehouse manager Carl was no help. He basically gave me the Tempurpedic reps information and said call him. I got no help there either. Tanya the sales lady was very nice. This will be a lengthy read, but one worth your time. I'll try to make this as brief as possible, but these events spanned well over a month. This was the worst customer service and handling of a transaction I have ever experienced. I refrained from saying anything until this point, but I have exhausted all means of a friendly closure. I'll leave the names out of it, because I'm classy like that. On 8/2/21 I ordered a mattress from a salesperson in Eldersburg, MD. She said the mattress would be delivered on August 11th. The mattress was then delayed 5 more times until the 28th. Each time my girlfriend and I were clearing our work schedules to accept a delivery that never came. She called me and I advised her that if the mattress was not delivered on the 28th, I would be canceling the order. The salesperson went ballistic on the phone, screaming at me for not being patient and then saying, "I'm not the person you want to mess with." During her 20 minute tirade my girlfriend began to record her screaming and I told her that I was doing so. The salesperson accused me of breaking the law, and hung up on me. I called her manager, who told me that he would address her actions. He also found a mattress within 5 minutes of speaking with him, and it was delivered on the 26th. I long forgot about the salesperson and her inappropriate meltdown until I returned to work a few days later. My supervisor informed me that he had received 3 voicemails from an older female accusing me of a "criminal act." At no point in her voicemails did she detail who she was, or what our interaction was, so my supervisor assumed far worse events had occurred. Also at no point did my employment have anything to do with this purchase, but obviously the salesperson believed she had a grudge to settle and sought to jeopardize my employment. Over a mattress... I called the manager back, who never returned my call but got me in touch with the security director of mattress warehouse. The security director condemned her actions and initially offered a partial refund of the purchase, but said that they would have to complete their investigation first. I told him I didn't care what happens to the employee and that it was the company's prerogative. I only wanted the issue to be settled. Of course as inconveniencing as this process had been, I asked the security director to push for a total refund, as I would have rather gone to any other store to make this simple purchase. He told me to wait. After a week, and many more phone calls helping mattress warehouse with their "investigation," he contacted me and said that the employee is no longer employed by them. Over a mattress... However, the security director said that the president was informed of the issue and was displeased that I asked for a full refund, and took any partial refund "off the table." The nerve of a customer to be asked to be made whole for the 27 phone calls and 34 days spent over a mattress order, right? This business is appalling in its disgusting treatment of its customers. I paid $4,000 to be screamed at over the phone, investigated at work, assist in an employer's investigation (which ended in a termination of an employee) only to finally learn I was being used the whole time and have absolutely nothing to compensate my time, patience, or assistance. But more so, they first promised a fair compensation, then took it back once their problem was solved with the employee. All over a mattress... From the bottom, all the way to the top, the company is festering with disrespect. I will forever direct customers away from mattress warehouse and any partnered brand. I may have been taken advantage of, but hopefully that happened so that whoever is reading this won't. I hope this sale costs this company a thousand customers. All this, over a mattress. By the way, I learned from the security director that apparently the president "doesn't really care about reviews." This shows how much Mattress Warehouse cares about its customers. Do yourself and your private employer a favor and find Mattress Firm instead. read more

Terry H., We have had VERY similar experiences! Bought a $2,300 mattress Sept, 2017 (order 1435649). Had to rotate it within 6 months due to one side caving in (MW said you should never have to do this). A second rotate 6 months, and we had had enough of this mattress and the mountain in the middle and the valley on the sides. We initiated a warranty return, a tech came out to do an assessment. They found two stains on the mattress which we had to ask for photo proof of because we were unable to find them. I can understand if it was red wine, a Coke, or cigarette burn, however this seems to be from my dog licking his paws on the bed. Extremely difficult to find, even with the photos of evidence provided. How can one justify the material breaking down over a 15lb dog licking its paws? MW told us to contact the mattress cover people and have them clean the mattress (how this will have any effect on the mattress material, I don't understand). The mattress cover company denied a warranty claim to clean the mattress since we didn't know what the stain was or when it happened (has to be reported within 5 days, unfortunately we don't inspect under the cover every 5 days). So now MW won't cover the $2,300 mattress that lasted less than a year. After becoming overwhelmingly frustrated with the loopholes MW makes to not take care of their defective product, we stopped trying and accepted we had been scammed. Today learning this isn't an isolated incident, we will be following in Terry's foot steps and calling the AG's office. Buyer beware, while you may be happy in store (we were), your nightmare will begin shortly after the product is delivered. read more

Mixed. While The salesman was knowledgeable and helpful and the mattress is comfortable, the company's policies don't provide for a great experience. The frame we ordered separate from the mattress/box spring was unavailable, so we had to choose another model. The high profile box spring makes the bed height unusable. Mattress Warehouse does not allow for exchanging for the low profile box springs (even within two weeks of purchase). Instead, they want us to purchase new boxsprings (another $320 or more). They told us we can pick them up ourselves to save us a delivery fee. Even though there is a Labor Day sale coming up, the cost of the box springs are practically the same. read more

Went to mattress warehouse in Westminster and the manager was so rude. I gave the Eldersburg store a shot and I'm so happy I did. Kevin was so helpful and nice. He helped me and my boyfriend pick out everything we needed for a king bed and answered all of our questions throughout the process. I recently bought a new mattress and the folks at Mattress Warehouse made it a pleasant experience! Mary was so knowledgeable about the various mattresses and she let me take my time deciding which one was the best fit for me. And Tony helped me take my accessory boxes to my car. More than that, he went above and beyond in securing me a new expedited delivery date after there was a problem at the warehouse with the box spring that was delivered. My husband and I bought a king size mattress from the Columbia Md location about 10 years ago. Had great service and price and we are still loving the mattress. So when I needed a twin size mattress and box springs I went into the Eldersburg store with plans on checking their prices and then going across the street to another mattress store to check out their prices and service. The regional manager happened to be in the store this day helping out and he was so helpful, not pushy at all and showed me a lesser cost mattress that was very similar to the one I liked but didn't want to spend that much. I was so happy with the cost and service that I bought right then and didn't have to go checking out other mattress stores. read more

I would like to point out the fantastic customer service at this store! Our salesman Lonny was absolutely wonderful in helping us pick out a new mattress that was not only very cost efficient, but everything we had been looking for as well. He made us feel very comfortable in the store and made picking out a new bed so easy! We walked in and were helped immediately. He first helped us in the selection process by using a computer controlled bed that we layed on to see what we needed in terms of comfort and support. This machine asked us questions about our old bed, which was giving me back pain. After laying on the test bed for a few minutes, it selected beds that were suitable for our body type and needs. Lonny was very knowledgable about every bed selected and gave us tons of useful information about the ones suited for us. We ended up coming back later in the day after work to purchase the new bed, and he even stayed until after store hours to help complete our purchase. He is very dedicated to his job and it shows. Worse sales person ever. My 23 yr old son is moving out. Looking for a new mattress, but inexpensive. We've looked online and know what is out there and prices. Also know you pay slightly more in a store, but being a small business person myself, I would rather pay more than buy online. My son went in during the day to look and test. Sales person told him he is never going to find anything in his price range and was very flippant to my son. We went back in the evening after re checking and finding some online. The same sales person and he was a true know it all - anything we said he had to dispute. He obviously doesn't know sales and is in the wrong line of work. We walked out. But is approach is why, not the mattresses. Had the salesman not been so confrontational about prices and showed us the mattress differences with a respectful attitude and thoughts of a possible sale instead of poo-pooing our comments, it was possible we may have purchased from them. We went and purchased in another store the mattress we wanted to see and did pay slightly higher for in store service, which was excellent. read more
