Googled and found Mattress Mike which was near me and didn't know existed. Took a chance and decided to drop by in person to see what was available which was on a Saturday. I found a nice three piece set: couch, loveseat, and chair that was available. Decided to check another place and found the same set for slightly cheaper. Came back to talk with Alberto (who was super nice and worked with me patiently) on comparing prices. He was able to match for the cheaper price if I was able to buy that set that day or next day and get delivery by Monday. I went ahead and got it. Fast forward to Monday. I got a call from Alberto saying their delivery guys could only find two of the three pieces for my order to deliver. I could get a black/white set (in picture below) or try another set that was similar at no additional charge since their was an error on the factory end. He sent a text with the picture of the available option which I also really liked and I decided to go with it. They delivered it by 4pm on Monday. Delivery guys were super fast and polite. I would highly recommend using them again even with the slight hiccup they handle extremely well. Picture 1: set in the store they had to showcase. I originally ordered that set but in all black Picture 2: set that was available last minute that's was delivered. I love it!

I take sleep VERY seriously and appreciate the system they have to narrow down their selections. Edrees wasn't pushy, took his time to explain what he was doing when having us test out like 7 different models & their features, and then left us alone for a few to make up our own minds. It was a good processes and we felt good about the decision. This brands are all solid and well-known, and their process seems pretty tight. Give yourself an hour or so if you go, it's no surprise these things aren't inexpensive and you're going to spend a quarter of your life in bed, so make it count.

Bill Torres worked with me to find the best mattress but didn't try to pressure me into anything. I took my time and tried out several mattresses and even took a few cat naps while I was there. Bill was patient and spent time explaining a lot of details about the various types of mattresses from innerspring to memory foam to hybrid. I settled on the Serta I-comfort hybrid blue fusion plush mattress with an adjustable base. Let me just tell you - an adjustable base will change your LIFE!!! I always considered that to be for the older generation but it's the best investment I could have made. My kingsdowne base raises the head and feet and comes with a massage feature as well as underbed lighting. It's amazing! I also got a floor model bed set, which includes the headboard and surrounding structure for a reasonable price. My new mattress and furniture was delivered three days later with no extra charge for delivery. The delivery guys were very careful with my furniture and didn't bang up anything while they moved my old bed out and my new one in. I am definitely one of those people that does comparison shopping and this experience was no different. I compared prices on my phone while I was in the store and Bill never tried to dissuade me from doing so. I was greeted by Jack, who runs the place, and he kindly asked us what we were looking for in a bed. He was very polite and didn't rush for us to purchase anything. He even asked me to pull out my phone and research/check prices online in front of him so I felt comfortable with what he was saying. At another mattress store, we felt pressured whenever we pulled out our phones but it was a relief he encouraged us to do so. He also explained to us how he is able to charge low prices on their mattresses vs other competitors. The pricing there is phenomenal, the bed we purchased was nearly 85% off the MSRP. He had a printout of a competitor's pricing with the name crossed out but we were able to see where it was. At another mattress store, a comparable beauty rest black was being sold 3x more than it was here. The only draw back here is that they don't offer any 100 day trial since they are not a distributor/dealer. But we didn't care for that too much since we have tried multiple beds already and knew what we wanted. He did mention that the eclipse beds (they are a distributor) have a 15 year warranty. He was also kind enough to give us additional discounts as we purchased pillows and covers as well. All in all, stop by here before visiting the big mattress stores.

Buying a mattress is a bit like buying a new car- you only do it every few years, and a lot changes in the interim, so I had checked out the ratings with Consumer's Reports. Problem is, there are so many new brands and types of mattresses on the market, it's difficult to do apples to apples comparisons. We decided to go to the closest place, Mattress Warehouse, in Tenleytown. We were met by Fatima, who was very friendly and helpful, having us first use their evaluator device, which is supposed to ascertain the optimal fit for you. Fatima showed us numerous mattresses, based on our needs. She was nice enough to provide us with sanitary coverings to lie on, as these mattresses have been used a lot and tend to get a bit grungy. Fatima also introduced us to Mr. Clarence, the manager, who was also friendly and helpful, while not being pushy and trying to force us to decide right away. We looked at several models and price points, some of which, while nice, were quite a bit above our budget. Note: let them know what your budget is, and they won't waste your (and their) time showing things above it. Our issue: I am always cold and side sleep, husband is hot and sleeps on his stomach. So we wanted to stay away from memory foam, and unfortunately, some of the others we were curious about have separate sales outlets and run into the thousands of dollars- too, too much. After a lot of try outs and head scratching, we took a break for lunch to mull over our options and make a decision. We did stop by the other big chain, (Mattress Firm) and their selection wasn't impressive. We came back to the store and Fatima wrote up our sale, and Mr. Clarence offered us a free cooling pillow, to go with the one purchased for my "hot headed" hubs. All in all, we had a positive experience in the store, and our new mattress arrived this morning, delivered by two guys who were in and out in 60 seconds, taking the old mattress with them. Note: Show the delivery guys a little love with a tip- lugging mattresses around all day is hard work. It remains yet to be seen if we made the right choice. I'll post an update after we've had a week or two to try the new mattress out.

Warning!! I bought 3 mattresses and 2 box springs from Mattress Warehouse in Tenley Town on…read moreMemorial Day. On June 2nd, the items were delivered but the queen sized box spring would not fit up the stairs. The delivery company took the box spring and told me to contact the store to get a split box spring instead. Since then, I have called over and over again. They never answer the phone and won't return my messages. One time, I got a person on the phone who told me he would call me right back but he never did. I am forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Luckily it is a $200 box spring and not a $3,000 mattress. I would NEVER trust this company with an expensive purchase. UPDATE - I emailed the customer service address provided in the comment below and no one responded (at least 5 days ago).
