I ordered a "not-so-cheap" mattress from the Hanover, MD location. I was provided a 0% interest rate for 36 months. The order was submitted incorrectly, and I did not receive part of my order. I called in another order the next day and wanted it to be applied to my previous order. I was assured the additional would be added. Afterall, it was the salesman's (Kevin) mistake. Months go by and I setup a bill-pay to just make a monthly balance that would be paid off before the promotional expiration date. One day, I decided to check to see where my balance was. Apparently, they had been charging me interested the majority of the time. I only received one bill, but somehow I had 2 accounts (because the next day call-in was not integrated with the original order). The store is closed today, but I called the credit company (Synchrony). They informed me of how all of this was setup, but what my statement says does not reflect what the credit company was charging me. I have setup a final payoff, closed my account, and will never do business with Mattress Warehouse (or Synchrony) ever again. read more

False advertising. They have signs 50-80% off. But in actuality they mark it up. Then slash the sales tag on. So u thinking your saving a tons of $. Sloppy delivery people. They damage our walls while carrying the flex base up. Then told the dispatcher that the mark was already there. Our house is brand new. We didn't have any other delivery to damage the walls. With all 4 beds we've purchased, you have gone "beyond the call of duty" to assure we make the right decision with our purchases. The prices can't be beat. Although I had originally thought the "bed matching" process was a gimmick, the moment I actually tried it, I realized it was the solution to all of the mattress sets I've purchased from department stores and other bedding stores, that have wound up being trashed because they turned out to be the wrong bed for me. Purchasing a mattress through a warehouse is a toss of the coin. Purchasing a mattress from a department store where I'd test several beds for a period of a few minutes, and then make a decision as to which "felt the best," was equally an uninformed purchase, costing me thousands of dollars each time I made a mistake! Those days are over! Now, I know which bed fits me and the way I sleep (bed-match). With each visit to your store, I've been offered a variety of beds at various price points. Because sleep is important to me, I'm not looking for the cheapest of beds (been there, done that, big mistake)....I'm looking for a good night's sleep--that, to me, is priceless. My husband and I paid well over $3000. for a Stratton Hybrid Mattress at this store. The employee who helped us was very nice, but was also very determined to sell us a mattress, at any cost. He "appeared" to be very knowledgeable of practically all the mattresses' in the store, but as soon as another couple came in the store, he left us hanging and immediately ran over to them. A while later, the manager came over to assist who was also determined to sell us a mattress. We decided to leave and come back another day. We did purchase a mattress several days later, but was charged a disposal fee for our mattress at home which we disposed of on our own, and was charged for a king mattress when we had purchased a queen. We did eventually get reimbursed well over 2 months later after making several calls and going back into the store. We also made them aware, prior to the 30 days to exchange the mattress, that it was very uncomfortable. They insisted; "you have to give this bed a little more time". We spent a lot of time at this store, and asked many questions as my husband has a bad back. Well here we are a year and 3 months later and I can't even sleep on this mattress. They give you 2 pillows saying they cost $100 each, "but we are giving them to you for free". The pillows ended up in the trash. No one in the family could even sleep on them. I have now decided that after sleeping in our easy chair every night, I do have to buy another mattress, but it definitely will not come from Mattress Warehouse. We were actually on the way to a different mattress store but my wife insisted on going here because it was more convenient and it is, located right across from Arundel Mills Mall. The showroom is full of mattresses on display, but you will first be shown to a test bed where your comfort diagnostic can be measured and a list of appropriate mattresses can be shown to you to try out. Not sure if there is actually anything to that, but it is neat. Mattresses are an expensive investment but if you know your budget going in you should be fine. We were originally going to a different place that advertised free delivery, but their delivery and removal charges are reasonable. On delivery day we were called and given a three-hour delivery window, and they arrived exactly in the middle of it (but did not call when they were on their way.) I was impresses at how fast and efficient they got the mattresses in and out, and on a snowy day they even made sure not to track anything onto the floor. read more

I had already been to quite a few stores before stopping in here and I'm not sure if I was tired or if they just weren't the best sales people. I was greeted right when I walked in and of on their special sleep matching bed so that it could ready my body and tell me what type of bed was best for me.. Then with not much explanation of why we went on to trying the beds it spit out.. I think after the day I had I would know what beds work for me! So as we are trying beds I noticed that this was the first sales guy to kind of hover but not really have any information on why the bed worked for me or what made it different from the others.. Once I became pretty uninterested the heavy sales tactics started.. They attempted to sale me a floor model bed... Which mind you wasn't one of the "special ones" their software spit out so who knows if it really was the bed for me.. Once I said no, since I would have to pick it up and it would have no warranty they came up with lets just say "creative" ways to get it to my home.. I don't want to judge anyone but it made me really uneasy the plan they came up with.. I quickly made up a reason as to why I had to leave and believe that these folks will never see me or my money again! As far as inventory is was a pretty decent size space so they had a lot of beds.. I just think they were more concerned with selling the floor models than really helping me understand the beds. I just purchased a mattress set and frame from this store. The salesman was fine. The prices were decent. However, the delivery process was problematic. The rest of this review is an explanation of that problematic process. They offered next day delivery, but called back within an hour of us leaving the store to reschedule delivery because the frame was not going to be available. So the delivery was rescheduled for 3 days later. Then the next day I received a voicemail from the delivery people with a window of 2-5pm for delivery. I was surprised the original delivery had not been cancelled and called the delivery people back to ask if the frame was included since it wasn't supposed to be available. The delivery guy said it was just the mattress set, but changed his story when I told him we had rescheduled because I wanted to receive the frame and mattresses at the same time. So I figured I'd be optimistic that they truly did have the frame and worst case I'd have the mattresses to sleep on if not. After spending $2500 on the set it was inconvenient in my opinion to have to be available twice for the delivery as it was, but I was excited to get my mattresses right away. I took apart my old bed and made the space available in my room right after that call, but I had an errand to run and regrettably I got home at 2:27pm. Unfortunately the delivery guys had come and left by then. I understand that they couldn't wait for me, and the failure to cancel was on the original salesman's part, but the delivery guy was not exactly courteous on the phone with me which I felt was unnecessary. I am now still waiting for the call from the delivery people to yet again reschedule the already rescheduled delivery appointment. I wouldn't spend my money here again because of this and I regret forking over 2.5k for such a broken delivery process. read more

We just had a GREAT experience at Mattress Warehouse! Matt got us set up with a great deal. He worked with our budget and our individual needs for my husband and I. He even found us pillows that are perfect for us. Delivery is incredibly fast, they are coming in the morning tomorrow and we just bought our bed at 7 tonight. Excited to work with them again in the future. UDATE! The bed arrived in the afternoon the day after we bought it and the guys set up our adjustable base and everything upstairs. After our bedMATCH was complete, Phil introduced us to a wide variety of options and helped us narrow down our choices. No pressure sales approach was very much welcomed. We selected a queen size Aireloom mattress with an adjustable base. We received a competitive price and arranged delivery. Delivery and set up was a breeze (at least for us; I felt sorry for the delivery guys who had to carry it up two flights of narrow stairs). Phil was extremely responsive to a few requests we had after the purchase (ensure delivery of the warranty paperwork, new pillow, etc.) We've had the mattress and base for a couple months now and love it. We bought a pricey king-sized from this store. The staff was perfectly friendly and helpful right up until the moment the signature goes on the receipt- then not at all helpful. The delivery process was botched badly, with the wrong phone number given to the delivery service, the delivery window pushed off the weekend into the week with no reason given, an a complete lack of communication. Additionally, despite us continually asking about the supports and what goes underneath the mattress- the box springs, etc- never once did they mention that the 'frame' that keeps the box springs off the floor was considered a completely different item, not sold with the rest of the bed. We went several rounds about what sort of support the mattress would get, and they completely bypassed and ignored the frame. Thus, when the delivery finally did happen- no frame! They were unhelpful when called back, basically just pointing me towards Amazon to buy one. (Or buying one separate from them, which is what I *thought* I was doing in the first place, but I'd rather not deal with them again.) We'll see how well the bed does, but the entire process being buying it and sleeping on it was supposed to part of this store's business- and they failed badly, and don't seem all that worried or desiring to make up for it. read more

This is more of the walmart of mattress stores. The salesman was friendly and not pushy, but didn't offer any information on the difference between the mattresses. We did find a mattress we liked, but felt like we knew nothing about it. After researching online, we discovered that the one we liked was discontinued. If a store has to use high pressure sales tactics, that's a huge red flag. And to the manager there telling me that big lots does not sell serta perfect sleeper mattresses, yes they do. I absolutely love my Temper Pedic Cloud. When I first lay down on it, it is like melting into butter. I can instantly feel the pressure being taken off my shoulders, my neck and my lower back. Brandon and Tom were fantastic! They kept me entertained the whole time with their humor and they are both very sweet, informative, and not pushy at all. They were very nice through the whole process and Brandon was so patient with me as he tried different avenues to enable me to finance the mattress. He explained the finance terms thoroughly and answered every question I had. My income bracket is probably lower middle class, and I was a little intimidated when Brandon first greeted me in a very nice tailored suit, but both he and Tom are so down to earth and I instantly felt at home. The sleep measuring process didn't take very long at all and at no time did I feel rushed, pressured, abandoned or snubbed. I would recommend these two gentleman at this particular store especially if you are waking up in pain every morning. I have had my Cloud for two days now and although I am not exactly pain free, I can say that I am sleeping better, my posture is better, I can walk and sit upright, I don't feel crippled in the morning and I even drove my car for two hours pain free. My husband and I purchased a Tempurpedic mattress only from Jennifer yesterday. We were replacing a Serta Iseries that was only 3/5 years old but was a total waste of money (pillowtop cratered even though the salesperson at the Waugh chapel store told us it wouldn't and of course was 1/4" from a warranty replacement). Jennifer was very pleasant and did not try to steer us to a different brand. She was knowledgeable of the products and made every effort to get us the correct pillows so we could try out the mattresses. She didn't rush us and she didn't hover either so we could talk privately. She also went the extra step and looked for any freebies we could get. She explained everything clearly and was able to have the mattress delivered the next day! This was a wonderful experience. read more
