He charged me $638 to replace the Relay & a wire, $63.79 for parts, $551 for LABOR. $145/hour for diagnosis. Then, on top of that, he charged me $18.60 for using my Credit Card, WITHOUT TELLING ME. I called &talked to Kyle about it and he said he could deduct the $145/hour for testing. Didn't Happen. I won't go back!. I'm a 81 year old living on a fixed income and just feel this was excessive! And, charging me EXTRA for NOT USING CASH. He said it wasn't him charging me, but it is HIS BUSINESS. He can charge whatever he wants. TOO RICH FOR MY BLOOD! It finally died so I phoned my auto insurance at Nationwide Insurance, and arranged for a tow from my home to his shop. Diagnoses: Filthy gas tank and a ill functioning fuel pump. Out the door I paid less than 50% of what I would have been charged by Roger diagnosising the issue at no cost. Old School. Love that! Vehicle is running great once again and since it's my only mode of transportatoin that I own; I'm so grateful for Roger & his Wife who runs the desk. Thank you both for true customer service and follow through at affordable pricing. What a value as I live on a very meager income due to being disabled. I can't say enough good things about Main Street Garage…read more Last Friday, I was driving my '93 Jeep Wrangler from the Bay Area to Arnold with my daughter and our dog when things took a turn. Traffic rerouted us through back roads, and when we stopped at a cheese shop in the middle of dairy country, I noticed my front left tire was *smoking*. My phone was at 7% battery--perfect timing, right? I searched for the nearest auto shop, called Main Street Garage (about 5 miles away), and they immediately told me to come in. From the moment I arrived, the experience was incredible. Katie at the front desk jumped into action, got me checked in right away, and started calling around for parts. A kind customer even gave me an old cigarette lighter charger so my phone wouldn't die. The mechanic took my Jeep (and my dog!) back to the lift while we waited in an office that--no joke--had three beautiful Great Danes hanging out. The whole place just felt welcoming and human. They quickly diagnosed the issue (brakes and more), got to work, and had everything moving fast--even though it was already 4:30pm and they close at 5. After fixing the brakes, Mike (the owner) personally test drove the Jeep. When he got back, he told me he *wasn't comfortable* with me driving it up the hill yet and recommended replacing the brake hoses too. And here's where they went above and beyond: Mike coordinated with my husband and his wife Carly, and they actually drove me to Copperopolis so I could meet up with him and get home safely. Who does that?! They didn't just fix a car--they made sure we were taken care of. They stayed late, got everything handled by 6pm, and treated us with such kindness and urgency the entire time. I had something else done there too. They also referred me to a great place for a new transmission (look, it wasn't a great year or two for my car, lol) and cheap tires (Golden State Tires). And were patient with me when I wasn't immediately sure how I wanted to proceed with things, and fit me in quickly despite their being a very busy place.
