The Geek Squad had warned me that they probably would not be able to bring it back to life and I should be prepared to invest in a new laptop. Jay explained that the HP Envy I had was better constructed than newer models. He thought replacing the battery and the hard drive would solve my problems. On Sunday he called and said both the battery and the hard drive were in, the data was being transferred and I could pick up the laptop on Monday. It looked like a new machine.
