We went here to eat tonight. Had an inattentive waitress to begin with. Waited forever to get drink refills. Waited about 35 minutes for food. Asked about getting our food and she didn't give a real excuse for it taking so long. When we got our food it was Luke warm so I believe it had been sitting for a while. Was not impressed with the food OR service. The chips? Terrible. If they're not straight out of a bag they're so stale they taste like they are. All other food was mid- little flavor, low quality meat. My dish was served with a raw jalapeño... The queso was okay but that's the only thing I can give this place. Our waitress couldn't even make a genuine menu recommendation. We asked her what she preferred out of several items and she could only tell us what OTHER people had decided to order that night. Great new addition to the Martinez family dynasty! Quite popular this Saturday night, ut the wait time was short. Ample parking off 276, and friendly hostesses quickly found us a table ahead of the 15-20 minute wait estimate. Same great food as at all the ofher Rancho Martinez, and similar decor. Good service, although the brand new waiters will get better at managing busy sections with experience! Only 2 notable changes from other Matt's; no fabulous Rick Timmons mural adorned the wall - and they do not yet have their liquor license, so our Margarita was FREE! This place is a great addition to the Quinlan restaurant scene, and we are glad it opened! read more

Love this place BUT they could improve on a few things. 1. Fix their driveway! All gravel w huge dips at entry. Have to slow way down pulling in off the highway so dips don't damage your car and NO ONE slows down for you on the highway so it's always is a scare I'll get hit. 2. Never seems to be an adult on site? Always high school aged kids running the show there. 3. Never check the order before they bring it to the table. Better check your meal for any specifics before digging in because it'll probably need sent back to be corrected. Food and drinks are delicious though and we will come back! read more

Excellent salsa and chips and margaritas, one swirl frozen, one regular. Brisket tacos were terribly greasy hard fried creations. I wish one of us had tried something else because I'm not going to get my husband back in here sadly. I'd waited years for this trip as we had always had dogs with us. Hard pass on brisket tacos if you're looking for the mi Cocina type with grilled onions, melted cheese and sliced avocados. These were same as ground beef crunchy tacos only greasier. Sad. read more

Always enjoy coming here. On this day, Saturday early evening I ordered a country fried steak (yes, I usually get Tex-mex) for a change. Breading was nice but the meet wasn't seasoned. Little disappointed but some salt shakers helped out. Waiter was on point with his service. Food came out to our table in a reasonable time. Food temp was just right. We'll be back for sure. Went for the first time today. Nice to have another Mexican option out here in the country!! We really enjoyed it. Queso was yummy, as was the guacamole. The salsa was super fresh and just the right amount of spice. Daughter got a kids meal. Thought it was super cool that they had lots of healthy options for kids. Of course they had the standard stuff too. I got the Shrimp and Pico cocktail and the Stuffed Japs. Everything was great! Daughter especially liked the root beer float at the end. Took my wife here based on several recommendations of their chicken fried steak. I hate to be so negative, but this truly one of the worst meals we've had in the past year. We started out with a peach margarita which was great, but that's where it stopped. Wife's chicken fried steak had little to no breading and was swimming in gravy to the point of being ridiculous. The waiter even commented when he brought it out that their chicken fried steaks are "usually bigger" and inconsistent. She had a few bites and couldn't eat it. I had the beef fajitas for $24. Barely any meat and cold! Tortillas tasted old. Very disappointed, especially with the recommendations and the fact that it is so busy! Drive a few more minutes down the road and eat Jefe's in Quinlan. read more

First time here and will not be back. The perfect patron tasted like no margarita or patron drink we have ever tasted. The enchilada sauce for the traditional red sauce tasted like chili powder with water made into a paste. It was not good at all. The service was great though. Emily was a great server!! read more

I can't rave about this place enough, I called Tuesday and spoke to the nicest man I believe his name was Gilbert, and asked if I could have a party if 40+ people for 3 hrs on a Saturday morning! His first word was ABSOLUTELY. No questions asked! They will always accommodate. I came in and was able to set up and decorate how I preferred within reason, the server Chris, was awesome and the other staff members even helped me set up. We were celebrating the date of my sons first heartiversary and we went all out and Gilbert and Chris among everyone else were very nice, patient and so kind! We got a full fajita bar, and we're able to bring cupcakes and a cake! The food, the atmosphere and attentiveness were 10/10! Can't beat it! Thank you for all you patience and kindness I'm such a tender and heart felt moment for us! Will be back 100 times over. read more

Don't bother. After seeing everyone else's plates I decided to go with the chicken fried steak. I think everything is over priced, but that's how it is nowadays. $8.25 for a single avocado scooped into three balls over some lettuce is ridiculous. My wife had the enchiladas and were topped with chili that tasted like Hormel. 2 enchiladas, rice and beans $10.25... again, don't bother. Rice was flavorless. Chicken fried steak had a strange batter that appeared to be potato chips ground up. Fries were good... so many better places to eat than here. We had not been to Matt's in a few months and we decided to go tonight. We brought a guest that had never been before and we were bragging it up to her. First we noticed a big increase in the prices but we got over that. To make a log story short there was no AC we ordered the Taco salads all around with beef, 3 meals were brought out one was as ordered one was filled about half with no meat in it. The waiter said there is no set amount in these salads. My wife had no meat in her's. What has happened to Matt's. Bad night or going down hill? We always liked eating there but this was not what we have come to expect from Matt's. Disappointed! read more
